The "budget" in cheaper guitars includes the lack of professional detailing and setup, i.e.- fret leveling and filing, nut filing, etc that higher end models get before leaving inspection. With that said I've purchased high end guitars with the same problems. My problem with this price level is that unless you've got the skills/tools yourself to improve it you're gonna spend that money you saved getting a tech to do it. I'd bet that guitar could be fixed up nicely however.
