What is needed purely for the tire change? Cannot seem to find a straight-forward video besides complete teardowns. Is it the three bolts at the top-middle holding suspension forks and the bottom spacer & battery ones to get the motor /w forks out and then just matter of removing pedals+forks?
@@2cells1pack Well, maybe. I've just had it for a few days but it's looking like it's going to work out. eWheels shows the weight rating for ET Max at 350lbs and I'm currently around 400lbs (also well over 2m tall FWIW). ET Max seemed like my best bet for a higher-end suspension wheel, partly because I figured it would be easier to modify, if needed, than any of the Veteran/Leaperkim wheels. I was thinking in terms of learning the spring specs and sourcing a higher-rate spring from someone like Eibach or Hyperco. I switched to the "harder" geometry by moving the upper eyelet to the alternate hole in the linkage. I'm still struggling a bit to understand how preload works but I can say that adding preload seems to have reduced the sag to something that feels good to me. I turned the preload collar until I was frankly struggling to keep turning, and it's still fairly close to the beginning of the threads. I estimate less than 1/3 of the threads are visible below the collar. I have not done a proper sag measurement or taken a video yet. If I stand on the floor and put my hands and upper body weight on the top of the ET Max it doesn't seem to compress at all, and when I step on with both feet it just compresses a little bit. It hasn't bottomed out riding over speed bumps and dropping off some low curbs, so I'm pretty happy with that. Compression and rebound damping adjustments have a pronounced effect, so I'm pretty happy with that, too.
@@2cells1pack Somewhere I saw a video (or was it a clip within one of your videos?) where someone from Begode was repeatedly riding a wheel up a little 1m ramp and dropping to the floor, presumably testing the suspension and also demonstrating that it would not bottom out. There was a moment in that clip where I could see the shock, and it looked like the preload collar was more than halfway up the threads. Of course, I don't know which spring that guy was using or any of his other settings, but seeing that just made me feel like it's probably safe to add a bunch of preload and see what happens.
First gen Extreme had 2 sets of holes. One for Hard mode, and one for soft mode. Second batch onwards - there was only one option. Soft mode. Owner wanted to try soft mode for the DS200.
Thank you for a detailed explanation.
Thanks for the vid. How about a tire change for the Extreme as well? Couldn't find one on UA-cam.
Oh, the extreme is similar to a Master/T4/EX30. I have done a video on T4 and EX30.

It’s similar to my ex30 or t4 tire change video
Doesn't red Loctite need heat to remove?
Yeah. I think he would have a hard time defending that choice if challenged.
Do you use chalk to mark the pads location?
Perfect timing, been needing to do this!
Awesome!
This was really helpful, just like the adjustment video. Well done.
Where can I source a spring with a higher rate than 1300lbs?
There's none that I know of, but the 1300lb isn't strong enough?

lol I really could have used this video yesterday. it was a struggle getting that last linkage pin through.
It can be tough, needs a little elbow grease
Why'd you put the upper pin back in a different hole?

@@2cells1packDo you know if the new versions impede the kickstand like the soft mode in the older version does?
Could you try that with the DS200 and 900lb spring !?
Yes, 900lb is good also.
Hello, CRC Extra Lock 50ml it is good for bolts?
I haven't used that brand so i'm not sure sorry.
I love your channel. For the inexperienced, how will I know if I have the collar too high or too low?
I'll have a video about how to adjust the shock come out soon.
If you put the shock on with 0 preload, you should have enough room to press the pins in by hand without the need to use the tire spoon as leverage!
yeah, it’s hit and miss. So I decided to show you my way of doing it if it doesn’t work out
not in my experience unfortunately. I wish.
👍
Hello what namber loctite?
I use red and blue depending on scenario.
Is this significantly better
Yes it’s pretty good
Lynx Tire Change soon please 🥺
Chooch just released a tire change video. ua-cam.com/video/X-CJxLOAHoA/v-deo.html&pp=ygUSY2hvb2NoIHRpcmUgY2hhbmdl
if you find that it's missing elements, I can look to do a video.
That's a dirty wheel. Gently used
Very gently. Like New.
