All you need to know is it sounds exactly the same as it did in the 80's. They just rename it every decade or so. They dismissed classic music as stale and old, fully embraced technology as the future of music and used it to rehash the same thing over and over again for the next 40 years.
Drummers can gain so much from exploring EDM, from sheer enjoyment to broadening horizons to improving one's ear and finding inspiration. Jojo Mayer, KJ Sawka and Louis Cole are great examples. In turn if a drummer develops a love for these styles, they can take the leading edge as innovators, again with the same players as examples, especially Sawka. There's very wide variation between the percussion archetypes in all of the different major genres which are: -house -techno -hardcore -trance -breaks -jungle -drum and bass -garage -dubstep If you're into broadening your horizons as such, exploring as many of these styles as you can is handily worth the time and energy for both growth and fun.
Holy moly, I was not expecting that absolute shred at the end. Goes to show what an awesome party animal Michael is. Love his live performances and videos.
This channel is great. It's is so difficult to think about the topic for the vid every time of drumming. But at this channel it's new every time. So great work
It's a fun genre to open up on. There tends to be space to try fills and grooves you've been working on. Michael discusses this in Electrify Your Drumming: www.Drumeo.com/electrify-your-drumming/
I'd love to see more electronic drum videos on her, i just purchased a roland td 27 and i'd love to see some real creative beats drummers are playing and explore more. (me coming from rock/funk/jazz player)
Ok Mr Schack needs his own television show this guy is so entertaining just as is. This was totally awesome I really enjoyed this video. If there is going to be more fun stuff like this then I will certainly be subscribing to Drumeo in the near future. Let's see some expert linear patterns added to this please. We like bells and whistles. Because we like things that are nice. Ayyyye 🌀🤙🏼😎🌀🤙🏼😎🌀🤙🏼😎🌀🤙🏼😎🐺
This was soooooo useful!!! I am doing a live video shoot tomorrow playing with stems. The original recording is EDM, which will now be a hybrid with real drums. I got a grab some high hats like those those are amazing Hats. What are they?
I love this channel for all of the creative drummers featured on this channel, as the demonstrations provided have been stylistically accurate. That being said, the example for "house" was not stylistically accurate. His hi hats were not straight enough. Listen to any house track, the hats are not swinging. David King from Bad Plus would be great to see, any of the guys from Tortoise, because they are all drummers. Just a suggestion.
Sorry, there's many different House subgenres, including Progressive H, Deep H, Slap H etc. And there's also straight binary, triplet/swing and mixed feel.
Hey, I want to do exactly that with my band: Mix electronics with real drumming. Which bands do that live on stage? For inspiration. Bonobo, Klangphonics ...?
Always great to see him with his energy. Everytime i see him drumming i wait for breaking a pad ;-) So Michael I am waiting for the "small beat" - maybe next time?!? LOL :-)
Mann they sure really get Matt McGuire he's an amazing drummer that's been playing edm tracks for years and is the current drummer for the chainsmokers
I can't afford a full drum set so I purchased a P4 practice pad. Do you guys off online courses using P4 practice pad as the main mode of practice and learning?
This is only an excerpt from my #ElectrifyYourDrumming Pack, which is totally filled up with Dubstep & DnB of course as well. Many DnB clips on my channel. Thanks for commenting!
It's always useful to learn about the genres I wouldn't be naturally inclined to play. Thanks, guys, for putting out some seriously diverse content.
Glad you appreciate it! It's always good to expose yourself to a wide range of drumming styles and take the best from each!

God i love this dude! Such energy and power! I would love to see him do a bit more dubstep and brakedowns, maybe even with double bass🤩😍🤘🏽
He does even more in his new course on EDM drumming. Check out Electrify Your Drumming: www.Drumeo.com/electrify-your-drumming/
About time that EDM will get some real drum performances during live shows.
I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that you’re not all that into electronic music. Check out KJ Sawka or Matt McGuire for starters.
Big gigantic, floozies
Sphongle does that in live

I'm a metal guy and it was really fun to play drop C heavy riffs on this beats! And the last "good boy" was hilarious!
in love with EDM and trap! More stuff like this, guys! thumbs up!
I’m almost done with Michael’s EDM course… it’s been a long time since I’ve had this much fun playing drums. Worth the admission to Drumeo alone!!
This channel is great. It's is so difficult to think about the topic for the vid every time of drumming. But at this channel it's new every time. So great work
Thank you 🙏
@@DrumeoOfficial 😔 But I didn't get a ❤ heart
This was fun!
Despite being more of a punk/hardcore/rock fan, I enjoy playing more edm style drumming, especially dnb/breakbeat kind of stuff.
It's a fun genre to open up on. There tends to be space to try fills and grooves you've been working on. Michael discusses this in Electrify Your Drumming: www.Drumeo.com/electrify-your-drumming/
Can’t tell you what an inspiration this is, thank god for Drummeo and especially Michael 🙏😎
Watching you have fun makes me happy. thank you!
First one straight up used on Them Changes by Thundercat. Recognized that instantly. Truely a must know.
I don't think his explanation of the EDM subgenres is accurate except Trance and Breakbeat, but he looks so fun.
From a very long time I have waited for this stuff . Thanks drumeo
Glad you like it!
His memory of the tempos behind every launch pad is remarkable. He nails the stick queue in every start.
I'd love to see more electronic drum videos on her, i just purchased a roland td 27 and i'd love to see some real creative beats drummers are playing and explore more. (me coming from rock/funk/jazz player)
Love the placement of the beaterpatches. ^^
Exactly what i was looking for
Love this guy!!!! You can tell he loves to play and kicks ass at it as well!

This is the future of music. Sorry, semi-excited and tired. But seriously, I love this!
This was soooooo useful!!! I am doing a live video shoot tomorrow playing with stems. The original recording is EDM, which will now be a hybrid with real drums. I got a grab some high hats like those those are amazing Hats. What are they?

Might be my fave instructor
Thank you very much - inspiring compliment!
I LOVE THE ENERGY! ESPECIALLY THE GOOD BOY PART! HAHA
nice to see a Belgian drummer!
Love it. Can't wait to try it on my Edrums.
That's awesome. You can check out more EDM drumming in Michael's brand new course, Electrify Your Drumming: www.Drumeo.com/electrify-your-drumming/
Great stuff 👌💯😊💥
Awesome video! 🤩
Yes!!! I love the end 😅😂😂
Love this 👍 EDM with drums sounds so good 😍
I wish he was my music teacher in High School. 💙🥁 Our class would be fun. #AwesomeTecher

I'm a big fan of NIN!
Hey, I want to do exactly that with my band: Mix electronics with real drumming. Which bands do that live on stage? For inspiration. Bonobo, Klangphonics ...?
Watching from kerala 💝
So how does it matter
That's why I subscribed to this channel at first!
This is awesome right up my alley please we need more of this type of stuff
You'll love Michael's NEW Drumeo course, Electrify Your Drumming: www.Drumeo.com/electrify-your-drumming/
I think Matt Mcguire (The Chainsmokers) would a great guest for Drumeo to showcase some EDM drumming. :D
Respect to Mr Schack
not at first sight, but love it...
This sir looks so craAaAzy and excited... I LOVE HIM.
Thank you!
That guy is great!
I love this channel
Awesome video 👍
Good Boy.. yeah 😃
My god the energy is real!
Always great to see him with his energy. Everytime i see him drumming i wait for breaking a pad ;-) So Michael I am waiting for the "small beat" - maybe next time?!? LOL :-)
I don’t know much about EDM, but if it turns into this with real drums I’m in. Reminds me a lot of NIN The Fragile.
What are the (2) yellow pieces touching the bottom of the snare stand legs? Place holders/markers?
Brilliant
Wow great 👍👌 very nice
nice playing.
You gave me some great drums I can use in my EDM beats
Awesome energy haha
EPIC!
Thanks!
Drummer should seriously consider playing electronic music, there's a full highway for new ideas !!!
Digging those hats. What kind are they?
Drumeo, please more EDM based grooves
What a nice guy, truly energetic
Perfect
Mann they sure really get Matt McGuire he's an amazing drummer that's been playing edm tracks for years and is the current drummer for the chainsmokers
5 secs in and I love your energy
Thanks!
Got love his energy!! And it is weird to see him on an acoustic kit normally see him drumming on an e-kit from Roland!! Commented to early lol!!
It is very impressive from an athletic perspective, but it does not have much feeling. I suppose that it is useful if your drum machine is broken.
Thank You, very cool!
Please do a video on Lofi drumming
Just listen to lofi a lot and play along
Thanks a lot
I've watched a million drum videos on UA-cam and this is the first time I've ever been like "I WANT TO BE FRIENDS WITH THAT DUDE"
Love it 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
GUD BOY hahahaaaa... D BEST SCHACK !!!!!!!
"Make it suffer!" LoL
When you borrow a cymbal to a friend drummer
Him: 10:09
Genio!!!!
I can't afford a full drum set so I purchased a P4 practice pad. Do you guys off online courses using P4 practice pad as the main mode of practice and learning?
Very interesting 🤟🤟🎸
Super funny, super groovy 😎😎😎
YESSSS!
That was crazy
He's been playing drums for NETSKY live quite the time. How come he wouldn’t include Drum&Bass in this showcase 😦
This is only an excerpt from my #ElectrifyYourDrumming Pack, which is totally filled up with Dubstep & DnB of course as well. Many DnB clips on my channel. Thanks for commenting!
Best!👍
Top!
Thanks!
Do some IDM drumming next!
Epic video
I want Michael Schack as a teacher, also in my band haha
More edm stuff please
