I just spent a week in a 2wd Grand Cherokee Limited. I put about 3200 miles on the vehicle from the Texas Gulf Coastal Plain through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas. From Interstate, 2 lane secondary highway, inner city, to spirited driving through North Georgia, Tennessee, and West Virginia. I was very surprised how capable and comfortable this vehicle was!! Lots of Interstate many miles in torrential rain, the Tail of the Dragon, to Homewood Cemetery in Pittsburgh, to a sedate Louisiana 28 this vehicle conquered it all. It was surprisingly comfortable, fuel efficient, and stable. Two things that need work IMHO are the brakes when using the cruise control. I'm used to just giving the brake pedal a light tap to take it out of cruise mode but this Grand Cherokee sometimes required a healthy stomp to disengage the cruise control. The other thing was the intermittent and very annoying habit of the turn signals signalling to the opposite side when you attempted to turn them off. Often times this would repeat from right to left several times before stopping. It was very annoying to me I can only imagine what drivers behind me thought. Instead of going from either the right or left turn signal to off they would seem to bounce to the opposite side with the slightest touch trying to cancel. I finally started grasping the turn signal stalk like a bat and lifting it into the off position. I've been driving for 50+ years and I've never experienced anything like that. The V6 was remarkably quick and had a nice growl if you stand on it all while returning almost 28 mpg over the course of the trip. I wish the car rental agent had given an instance of instruction as to the features on this vehicle although most of it is intuitive. The Start/Stop feature is bizarre but probably does aid fuel conservation, nonetheless having the engine start when you release the brake becomes comical after you get used to it. All in all a nice vehicle.
28 mpg on a grand cherokee? Post a video please. Because that is so far from unbelievable I need to see it to believe it. Because I call bs on this one.
I just traded in my 2001 Lincoln Navigator for 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and tbh, I am absolutely loving it. It feels so luxurious and drives so good. I never really cared for jeeps but now, I love them
The park sensor can be turned off for when you're pulling a trailer. Otherwise when you back up the sensor beeps because it's detecting something in the vehicle's path.
7400 lbs. towing capacity on the V8 5.7L HEMI with towing package fortified with a larger radiator and heavy duty cooling upgrade. I have the V6 3.6L (3600 lbs. towing) and I can’t get more than 22 MPG on the highway. Also, that auto start/stop is garbage. Saves no fuel and ruins your vehicle. The off button only works for that specific trip. It always turns back on. No one likes it but Jeep includes it to pacify the Evironmental Protection Agency over the satisfaction of their customers.
While going over a couple features that are in the rear compartment of the Grand Cherokee you should have mentioned that there is a rechargeable flashlight on the driver side. This is great to in case of an emergency or for any use of a flashlight.
@@Ale-up7gl I absolutely LOVE it! I really love the way it hugs the road, the gas mileage, the luxury, etc. I'm now a Grand Cherokee Jeep Girl. It sits so high up on the road too. Go for it, you'll be so satisfied with yourself.
@@jenniferscott869 Hi Jennifer, I am looking into buying a 2017 Grand Jeep Cherokee. The reason I am wanting to buy it is because the one I have on hold only has 21k miles on it. I feel that that is amazing being that it is a 2017. Do you still recommend it?
I think this was a good review! As with many cars, having a warranty of 100K is wonderful on a new car. If buying used, I would buy at least a powertrain warranty from the dealer. I have the 2014 GC Limited and love it. 141,000 miles and still looks and drives like new! My wife has a 2015 Explorer Limited and the Jeeps drives better although the Explorer is roomy and very comfortable.
Hey I’m looking at a 2014 GC Limited V6 (just like yours) with 80k miles. How has the reliability been on yours? Is the V6 problematic or are there any other issues relating to 2014 GC’s?
Thanks for an in-depth review that is detailed. I am test driving a 2017 and you gave me some small insights that I needed in helping make an informed decision. Well done!
Don't know about the Limited, the Summit however has Active Acoustic Damping, much like pilots have in their headphones. The ambient noise is taken in by the onboard mikes and a cancelling noise is emitted over the speakers. That's what I heard over hear in Germany 👍
I am a big fan of the grand Cherokee, I have an older model limited. Can you help me understand what all of the different models are now it's so complicated. I think I would buy a new limited but want to check all my options. I want the V8 and 4 wheel drive
Yeah I just bought one in the guy told me the reason use projectionhalogen lights is because the Cherokees it's kind of high and they don't want to blind people on the road in front of them 🤷🏿♂️... Lame excuse but nice car 👌🏿
It is a wonderful vehicle I am getting a limited that is loaded!!! It is going to have the off road adventure 2 and all of the safety features; I am going love it
Hey I just purchased 2016 Grand Cherokee Limited absolutely love it this is my second I have a 2006 Grand Cherokee Laredo my question navigation it feels and looks like it's going back or so when I'm driving forward the little car is driving towards me it makes me feel like I am doing something wrong can someone please point me in that direction
Andrew that is a great question! I have found that the Grand Cherokee's have been one of the more reliable vehicles in their segment. I have found the same thing as you however regarding some of the reliability of some of the lower end Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge products. Their v6 platform is very well proven and works great in their Grand Cherokee's.
Can I suggest something for your future videos? ? ? .... Try to make shorter videos and more dynamic (10 mins max) . Show Leg Room in front and back , the engine , and try to move with the camera while showing all this . Peace :)
So I am just a little confused for the selec trac since I am old school and like the manual way to put it in 4 wheel drive in my 97 grand cherokee and it has 4 lo 4 hi part time full time all these different options which I totally understand but with this since I live in the north east this thing will see snow and a lot of it come winter and I am confused what snow mode is does it give it a lower gear so you arent spinning tires? is it part time or full time 4wd? if anyone could just explain that whole mode to me that would be a huge help
kyle praseutsack it’s automatic. Soon as u lift your foot of the break pedal, the engine automatically turns back on. It’s weird at first but you’ll get used to it.
Hm, that's a great question. I do not have a 128 to test it with. I do not believe there is a limit to how large the storage space is on one. Pretty sure you would be fine. Not 100% but pretty close.
I don't like 18 inch or larger "pimp rims" on a Grand Cherokees I much prefer 17 inch rims with higher profile tires on my G/C Laredo If you want to drive over pot holes trails or snow more rubber is a must between the rim height and low fat tires don't cut it in rougher Jeep conditions.
You gotta be less biased when you do a public review. And btw, start/stop system is not necesseraly a good thing, especially if one decides to BUY a car (not lease) and doesn't turn the system off.
Why do you keep spreading this MPG bullshit. I have this V6 3.6L and I get 19.8 MPG Highway. That’s straight highway 60-80 mph for 300 miles. And the auto start stop is a horrible mess. I permanently disabled it immediately.
Start stop is horrible for your engine. Thank God you can turn it off permanently with a system hack. In hot weather with the air conditioning on, your fuel efficiency is less than 2%. But it will shorten your engine life by 25%

HITMAN 47 every vehicle with start stop is the exact same way. That is spa controlled due to it effecting the MPG. They have to have it turn on during start up. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to use the setting to calculate their advertised MPG. It's a great feature. Just have to get used to saving money on gas
