Mod author here (but the real credit goes to TROM, TUP and other mods that allowed me to integrate content (like building overhaul), and especially woodhawk, I was just the bozo who tried to mash em together) and my first thought is “Oh lord the criticism will be savage from ST! (In a good way) “ Apologies for all bugs and strange choices in advance😢 I was totally insane to start this project since I never modded a huge overhaul of total war before. But 3k was a very special game that made me want to do it. If anyone wants to get into modding total war, just go for it! You can do it! I learned so much from this project. Things I literally use in work like how to design work flows, creating goals and design documents, managing scope creep(I was not so good at this for the mod!!!), file organization and git repos. If you want to see all of your free time disappear, I highly suggest Total War modding 😂

Nice mod ! can you make a mod where each general can recruit 8 retinue instead of 6 like now and have 2 followers slots, 2 item slots? i think that would be an interesting improvement to the game ! ❤
2nd mod author here. I was really surprised to see this getting covered by you. As Beans have already said, it's a monstrous Frankenstein of a compilation mod that's a bit all over the place, balance-wise. But the main focus was always to inject more fun and variety to the campaign, and while I really respect the TROM team, we want to do our own thing. I think we both got burnt out by the mod but balance feedbacks are always welcomed, especially coming from you. I don't think I have the time or motivation to do much more, but maybe we'll swing back for one balance update + include all the new stuffs from the latest TROM version at a later date, whenever that may be. This mod was built on the shoulder of giants, all credits are to them. Whether it's the assets used in the mod or mods that were used as references for certain AI and effect values, consider it a passion project and love letter to this amazing era of history Couple of things to note: Splash attacks like Guan Yu's Heavenly gale and Zhang Fei's Heavenly venom can be used on troops and are arguably more effective on them, as they both have a vortex effect that shred troops. It's just the debuff effect that can only affect generals Zhao Yun's splash attack's effect is just there for the cool factor, the splash area is around the same as Flames of Phoenix. Lu Bu's Rage of Lu Bu has the same effect. Some generals' splash do have actual effects and vortex that do damages, however, it depends from general to general. For the most part, if a splash attack has only 1 use, its effect vortex will do damage Zuo Ci's and many range attack's "effect range" being 10m is a result of vanilla game's labeling issue. The range is actually hidden but it's a lot more than 10m. 10 m is the area of effect Most of the sub-buildings have an upgrade chain. Some sub-buildings might start out as bad, but have unique effects or unlock unique units once fully upgraded This mod does take some inspiration from Dynasty Warriors, but another source of inspiration is from the manhua "The Ravages of Time." (火凤燎原) Yuan Fang, an original character from that series, a fictional son of Yuan Shao, is in the game in Yuan's faction for example, with skills that reference his feats in that manhua Check the character's military page, as some characters have "hidden" abilities that are not shown on the skill tree. Hint: some are even more hidden, try to have Chen Dao lead a unit of any of the White Feathers variants, or Cao Cao/Cao Chun leading a Tiger Leopards unit One weird bug that we have never managed to squash, and you might've already experienced it, is the lag whenever you click on your army when they're in a foreign territory. I have no clue why this is the case and could not fix it. But you can mitigate this effect 1. The lag only happens consistently if you click on an army of your own faction while they're in normal stance in a foreign territory 2. The lag does not happen if that army is in marching stance 3. The lag does not happen if that army goes back to your own territory 4. If the laggy army is selected, the lag transfers to all the menu. So to mitigate this, click on the laggy army, give it instructions as needed, and then de-select it. The rest of the menu (like character and court screens, will no longer lag) It's a weird bug that I can only suggest people to work around. I think it might have something to do with the unit recruitment. Maybe the mod add way too many units that the game engine can't keep up Also, the biography mod is incomplete. "This character is historical" is a place-holder for those that have not been written. The death dates are all place-holder since it's a lot of work, so everyone gets ?-?

Welcome back, it's quite a while since the last time you've cover anything about 3k. There are a couple of things I've spotted: _ The building slots in minor settlements are based on the bandit ones. Some of the 2d pictures are taken from Yellow Turban buildings, others slight modification or more basic version of the Han faction buildings. Props to the modder for getting rid of the granary and transfer it to the minor settlement slot building. If the granary didn't provide food reduction or increase food production with it's existing bonus, there's not that much incentive to build it. _ A few new military buildings like the archery range and civil buildings like the roads as well as embassy are from the Buildings Overhaul mod. I believe if you search for buildings in the workshop, it will show the name in red. I believe the modder who made this also made a mod for better characters Wuxing and one that allows you to recruit Yellow Turbans as the Han. _ Some skills has 2-3 levels. I believe that it was drawn from Havie skills, a mod which add and expand characters skill in the skill tree. Overhaul mods such as MTU, Wu, TUP, New Generals Collection and even TROM has its add-on version which added even more skills. Wu, TUP, NGC and TROM by far has a lot and even alter the unique skills of our favorite characters. _ There are add-on versions of the mod All Playable Factions to most of the mentioned overhauls. However, I subscribed and tested with TUP and the new factions didn't show in the preview selection map at the start. I wonder if it's fixed for TROM. _ Another issue I've encounter in TUP and hope that TROM addressed it was that certain sets of items don't activate it's bonuses. In previous versions, Guan Yu already owned the set of Green Dragon and the unique armor, but the bonus didn't toggle. _ There are 2 main biography mods. There was the one made by woodhawke that when you hover into the book icon in the character's info. Some characters were just given the text "This character is historical". I think someone should revisit the mod and copy the bio info either from ROTK or from DW series. The other one has the Lu Bu picture. It provides slightly more info for more character when you hover into the character's background title. For the characters that haven't had the description, it will have the text " The scribes continues to...". The first mod fits neatly to the character panel while the second gives a lot of info. The first one needs The Gathering mod though. _ If you didn't see Guan Ping, play the 200 start date with Guan Yu either in Liu Bei's or Cao Cao's forces. Around turn 2, you should get a trigger event to adopt him. It worked for me in MTU and that overhaul didn't add anymore trigger events besides the base game events.
This is actually the mod list I’ve been running with for the last year or so. The issue I’ve found is some events are harder to trigger and some lead to duplicate generals and characters spawning too early with incorrect ages. There’s a mod to manual correct and spawn/despawn items and characters but it can’t fix everything.
Guan Yu has a skill that basically lets him 1 shot an enemy general if it hits, has a long cool down time tho. Zhang Fei is probably one of the best cav generals since he has a skill that makes his retinue immune to fatigue. Mi Zhu is a good administrator and Zuo Ci is a good strategist and prime minister.
Liu Bei the long eared villian. It's the only campaign I haven't played for more than a few turns, but it will be great to see ST take on the role of the baby tossing true villain of 3K to conquer China with tremendous lore and insight
I can just imagine the conversation at 26:17. Liu Bei: "My wife, I am banishing your brother from the realm." Lady Mi: "Oh Heavens. What did he do?" Liu Bei: "I had a premonition that in 26 years he will play a small part in the death of my brother. Also, the voices in my head tell me to ignore all social convention and name you as heir." Lady Mi: "Y'know what, I'm not gonna question it."
I think these mod are fascinating, I tried to play with them, but long end turn and "a lot" of crash to desktop were the problems. There was also one particular thing that in turn 5 (of my Cao Cao 190 campaign), everyone in the "Han Empire" faction suffered a -60 satisfaction drop, It just said "prestige" in the description. This made them all have 0 satisfaction, but they did not leave. I tried to grab Taishi Ci (he showed up in the spy menu), in the next turn he come to my court, brought along almost everyone in the "Han Empire" faction into my candidates pool, and two people working as administrators defected their commanderies to me as well. That was a huge blow to my enthusiasm, something like that happened was NOT fun.

Get Sun Ce kill in his historical death date 2. Set the Settlements up historically until you have to betray Liu Bei in 219, Then try to restore the Sun-Liu alliance in 222. 3. Pass a number of turns until you make Sun Quan Emperor in 229. 4. Then conquer everything in 231 when you begin the battle of Hefei. 3. Any Plans on doing Warhammer 3 for the upcoming DLC?
your idea of Sun Ce into Sun Quan sounds interesting (although being historical means that I will have to create many failed campaigns) Not going to be covering warhammer 3 anytime soon
in the mod list there is a mod calls Relationships Matter - Enhanced Friends, Rivals and Character Interactions! [1.7.2], it triggered a lot of Banquets of music without any assignment.
Do you have any mod recommendations aimed at fixing the game's many bugs? I want to try getting into this game again and would appreciate if it were more stable.
@@SeriousTrivia Nothing specific in my limited experience, I've just heard from many people that the game is rather unstable and buggy at times. Things like event chains not properly firing off when they should, character stats being different to the values actually being displayed, and characters spawning into the campaign long after they should already be dead. If I'm not mistaken, I believe TROM comes already packaged with the 1.7.2 BUG FIX mod which can be found on the workshop.
vanilla is fine. the event not firing is hardly a bug unless its the 182 transition to 190 (most people just get unhappy when chance events don't fire for their campaign...when they should be chance events).

Ok, seeing that Zhao Yun has access to White Riders in this mod makes me curious. What was his role when serving with Liu Bei and later Shu? I vaguely aware he served Gongsun Zan prior and was suppose to command his White Rider Cavalry (I think, feel free to correct me on this).
There is a theory about Zhao Yun was a member of Zhang Yen's Black Mountain Bandit, the Yellow Turban Uprising destroyed his hometown, and he had to join Black Mountain Bandit to survive. When Gongsun Zan and Zhang Yen forged a coalition against Yuan Zhao, he was sent to Gongsun Zan's camp as a hostage to show good will and also to keep a check on Gongsun Zan. That was why he came to Gongsun Zan's camp with a small regiment of rider, Gongsun Zan did not care much about him and sent him to Liu Bei, and why Zhang Fei had a suspicious that he would be a traitor. This theory could only be a work of modern novelist (as I read it in a novel), but I fascinated the ideal.

another bug that i notice is with the mod, there are no event to randomly change character bad trait in the after winter.

he was just a regular troop with Gongsun Zan for the most part. Became Liu Bei’s cavalry captain then just part of the personal retinue of Liu Bei
