  • In this video we show two different options to cleaning up the wiring on the front of a Nissan 350Z or Infiniti G35 engine. The factory installs an engine cover on these vehicles which hides the factory wire harnessing. I like to take the covers off because they retain heat and I also like to appreciate the engineering and design of the engine.

    I feel like leaving it open also helps for air flow. Allowing air flow to flow through there to keep the bottom of the mani top off the engine cool when moving.

      Yes, should help the insulation last longer.

    I believe the hole there at timing house was for cooling. 35DE has fan-cooled model for some heavy duty vehicles. The pulley next to the alternator was for the fan, and it left useless there on water-cooled models.

    I have an electrician working on my G and he has moved that ground to another part of the engine bay and says it's alright to do so.

      As long as it's a good ground point in theory it's fine.

    nice video , I do like the way you did it first, might give it a try, also a question for you, what kind of upper plenum is that ???

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  2 роки тому

      Thanks for watching! It's a factory plenum painted with black high heat paint. There's also a Motordyne 5/16 spacer and MREV2 installed.

    Hey Anthony, Will the rev up wiring harness work on a regular DE?
    I need to basically re-do my wiring harness for my 03 MT 350Z but can't find any harnesses out there for regular DEs

      @AnthonyJ350  8 місяців тому +1

      I don't think so. There's extra valve timing on a REVup. You can try verifying with Z1 Motorsports.

    The older infiniti's have these rare short chrome bolts perfect size so you won't need the washer where the acorn sits. Nice wire tuck! Do you think it matters which order of tape layers are put first?

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  6 років тому

      I don't think order will matter too much since it's not ultra hot in these areas.

    AJ, well done, as usual, I have the same rev up in my 06.5 Z, how is your catch can working out, is it still unmounted, with the exception of gravity and tight fit? Also what are you using to keep your engine bay so clean? Mine stays fairly clean but has 13 years/39k mi. of light dust accumulated. Also since you are in Canada, what do you know if anything about the Recochem/OEM coolants, made in Canada, are they legit, and high quality? Best regards.

      @AnthonyJ350  4 роки тому

      Thank you. The occ is mounted, and has been awesome. Here is the video. I just use coolant that's factory fill and works good for me and mix it with distilled water.

    Where did you get those insulated clamps to hold the main wiring harness?

    • @AnthonyJ350
      @AnthonyJ350  3 роки тому +1

      Got them from my local auto parts store. They're insulated stainless steel clamps.

    hey bro, do you think you can help me out? So recently and tragically my ABS module caught on fire (my abs has been buzzing even when the car is off and I would always unplug the negative terminal on my battery, we’ll one day I forgot to unplug it and i guess it overheated and caught on fire) i put it out in time and it burned some of the wiring by there. My headlights don’t turn on, my rpm stays at 0, my temp don’t work, basically most of my cluster doesn’t work. So i was wondering is there like a wire harness i can replace in order for my headlights and taillights to work again. Car drives fine but I just want to be able to drive at night.

    Hi Anthony, Off topic question here. Would you recommend a tyre set up 245s width (Deep dish rims) on the rear and 235s on the front or larger for a better grip and handling since its a RWD ? I had this set up on my twin turbo Soarer and found it helped with the traction and LSD when doing launches etc looks good too but performance wise do you see the benefits?
