This video with cover days 5 and 6 of working on the scrapbook room, where we finally "finish." There is still a lot to do, but it is now a more open, decluttered, and organized space than it was before and Mira can finally use this room as it was meant to be used instead of hauling everything to her kitchen table to work on a project.

Mira could use the money from selling the scrap book stuff to buy herself a Berkey water filter. She would save so much money in the long run, reduce so much plastic use and still have clean drinking water!
Plus she wouldn't be getting harmful chemicals from the water bottles.

Best part about finally getting your craft room together is the floor space and vacuuming it.
It is my opinion that collecting art supplies and using them are two completely different hobbies. It looked to me like she tried to be organized but her supply-collecting hobby got ahead of her supply-using hobby. LOL Great job helping her get organized. Now she can actually spend time making things.
I am guilty of buying art supplies especially if I find them on sale! I have a BASKETFUL of different size sketch pads! Sheesh! I am acutely aware of it now and have been working on replacing my "hobby" of shopping with my "hobby" of drawing /painting!
@@LB-ht1qkYes, there comes a time to look at the "stuff" you own and make using it an emphasis. It could be sketch books or any other category of supply/ material in which ever craft(s) you do. When using up stash, I give myself permission to do projects that have absolutely no use or purpose in my life. I either gift this stuff to those I know or to a charitable type organization (Christmas gift drives and requests from the community are great for this.)
I truly believe people need to not judge other people by what they spend their money on unless they see people or animals going hungry or in need of something in the home. It's nobody's business and this her joy-the things that make her happy and proud so please stop giving unsoliciated opinions and notice how happy Mira and her fur babies are.
I think scolding the individual is not the solution, but I do think we should be free to speak up about excessive overconsumption like this in general, because it is destroying the world we live in. Which means not harassing people when they are already making changes to their habits and bettering themselves.
We can't do anything about things that are already bought, so that is a moot point. It's better if no new supplies come in and you use what you have in that case.

I have said many times that instead of buying new shoes I might buy books. Instead of a new coat I might buy an antique. In fact one of my favorite coats is over 20 years old. lol We all have our priorities.

What amazes me in addition to the wonderful progress you both made, is that as you clean and organize more and more and as time progresses, we see more and more of her doggies coming to visit you both in the craft room! Mira mentioned they were afraid to go in there before and now they seem to love running in and out of there! 😊❤️
There is always MOUNT DOOM at Mira's house - LOL! I know it's so much easier to work WITH someone than feel it all has to be tackled by yourself! So, this has been a joy to watch!

Once your room is all organized you will be the happiest scrapper on the planet!!! Great accomplishment! I’m happy for you! My scrap table gets out of control sometimes…the best organization tip for me is that after every layout I create, I put all tools,etc back in place. It saves time trying to find everything making the next project.
Put some of the bags in your car! That’s when I use them. And see if a teacher wants them. We have to send things home with students without backpacks or needing additional carrying space. Many Title 1 schools send food home with students and could use bags. Same with food pantries.
I'm TOTALLY a collector... I used to scrapbook... and I was a better collector of scrapbook supplies than actually creating scrapbooks!
I LOVE going through my items and organizing them - which allows me to look at all the pretty things ;)

She has more inventory than my local Michael's. I hope she continues to create with all those supplies.
30 years of dedication to this hobby.... I think she's allowed to have as much as she does. As long as she has the space to put it all and periodically goes through her stash to eliminate what she will not use, I think she will be just fine.
I don’t even scrapbook, but the room is so awesome it makes me want to start. I hope Mira has many happy hours in there.

Your generosity is endless - your wish to help people gives me faith in humanity. You spent - how much was that - over sixty maybe closer to eighty hours of hard hard work - back bent - going through someone's else's emotional back-log to help them move forward and do things in their life which they love. You are such a good person - you did an amazing job. A job which would have cost far above $25k - just to have people come in and shovel things into a skip would have cost that - but to sit and put hundreds of thousands of items together to enable the homeowner to sort through them - then to put those into some organisation - there is no cost for that - there's no one who wouldn't put such a high price on that service that it would be completely out of reach for all. You did an amazing job - bless you!

Scrapbooking actually consists of two separate hobbies, one is collecting product and the other is using it!
Don't forget the 3rd, organizing. I am a scrapbooker and l enjoy organizing my stuff.
I don't scrapbook but I can relate regarding books and reading; collecting, organizing and reading books are all separate hobbies 😅❤

I actually wouldn't say it was the biggest project I ever tackled. My biggest project was the hoarder house I did right before this. I put in over 100 hours at that house, but only about 55 to 60 hours on Mira's scrapbook room.

I love arts, crafts, and adult coloring and yes you accumulate a lot of what you love to do. I also don’t have kids. Believe it or not, watching organization and declutter videos, gets me to clean, organize and declutter. I find it therapeutic.

I actually attended a Paper Crafters Get Organized summit this weekend. Everyone organizes according to their how their brain works. I sort by theme (music, sports, holidays, etc) and by color, like kind with like kind. If you're a papercrafter it is always a work in progress.
I’m lowkey tempted to get into paper crafting just for the joy of organizing it. I’m not creative and don’t wanna USE it. But oooh, it would have been fun to organize! I would have loved to do this project with Bonnie and Mira (I definitely don’t have Bonnie’s stamina!).

I'm 2 years new to scrapbooking and it's been a challenge to stay organized, even though I'm constantly putting things away, rearranging products, and labeling. I never want to be in a similar situation but understand how quickly it can happen. The amount of pretty stuff available is more than what any person can use. This was a fabulous organization effort!!

I found when I had an over abundace of everyone it was over whelming. I've thinned it to a more doable amount. I feel creative again
Restriction breeds creativity! (While many people think it's the opposite)
@@amara560It certainly encourages improvisation. However, colour, yarn and fabric (my things) spark ideas, and if I see something that does that I will add it to my stock, within strict storage limits!
I have loved watching this series with Mira . I hope it’s not the end, and we will see more of you together
I can guarantee it's not the end. There are so many areas that she could use help with and I always enjoy working with her. I just wish she lived a little bit closer so that I could help out even more, but we plan on working on something together at least every couple of months.😊

I love watching the organization eventhough you didn't know what some of the items were. It shows that we can do this with anything. It makes me so happy for Mira to have an area that is and will bring her joy, thanks to you! 😊
What Mira spends her money on is up to her. I am alot like her.My kids are grown so I don't spend much on them. I also have a dog that is very special and my hobby which is mostly paper crafting but I dabble in a few other things as well.
As long as I have it somewhat organized I will continue buying for someday😂
Lots of the people watching aren’t scrapbookers…there are scrappers that have way more than Mira, believe me! They have their rooms organized as Mira knows organizing is a thing with scrappers ….

Colt definitely warms up to you. What a curious puppy!!! The bags...definitely guilty on collection of reusable bags. Love the new desk area and things on the wall. This craft room looks amazing!!! Fabulous job. Really wonderful.
She is doing great... but I wonder if she has checked to see if any or many of her supplies have expired... I found that out the hard way. Stickers, paint, gelatos, inks, refills, enamel dots and so on, expires. For stickers, adhesive chipboard, or embellishments, the adhesive gets old and no longer is usable... or worse, the items get a weird smell or coating on it, due the plastic content or container...
I was wondering about that when Bonnie sorted all those pencils. I would have checked if these are still working before trying to sort any of these.

Bonnie you are SO good at sorting all this small stuff. And it was very satisfying to watch once the pile in the middle of the room started to shrink a bit. It was a bit scary at first! I think Mira should take stall at a scrap booking exhibition and sell some of it. Not to get rid of it, but because I think she'd love talking to everyone browsing her collection of items for sale and making the sales. She obviously loves the "items" needed to do this hobby and she's experienced so much of it that she it probably pretty much expert. It's a shame not to share that knowledge and love. Anyway, she probably couldn't think of anything worse, but in my mind I have her sat behind her pretty stall at a craft sale. 😃
I wish I could beam you up and drop you into my utility room or spare room and shut the door. I'd throw in treats and snacks from time to time and abracadabra! They would be sorted without the pain.
Yesterday I spent all day at my mum's old home. I'm in the final stages of the clearance for sale (we now have a buyer so I have to speed up) and I admit that the end stage of clearing a home of 65 years, a house I was actually born in, is getting very hard for me. I was fine earlier on with the bulk of the clutter and possessions. But now, I'm down to the nitty gritty and I just don't know what to do with it. I am fighting myself hard all the time not to bring it home. So it's dad's tool box with some very old tools in it. But I have my own tool boxes with my own tools in. I don't need more. I spent a lot of time yesterday sitting stressing or turning in literal circles with bin bags or boxes in my hands. I think it's the hardest thing I've done and I've done it alone. There is no cheery company to talk too. I now have a man lined up to come and take the furniture and all the contents of the garage away as soon as I book him. But I have to finish getting rid of the smaller stuff too because I know I won't do well in the house on my own when it's totally empty. I'm having to try to keep the garden tidy too and this spring has been so wet that vegetation is growing like crazy.
All in all I'm stressed by it. I watch your videos and gain some calm back. But I finished this one at 6:30am because I suddenly bolted awake from sleep with anxiety running high and I needed to escape it if I could. Thank you Bonnie, I might try for another hour in bed now.

That's got to be really difficult getting down to all of the little things. Probably a lot of memories. I know, when my parents moved from the house I grew up in, it was really hard to know that I wouldn't be able to visit the home I grew up in. And they only I lived there for 32 or 33 years, so about half the time you're mum lived in hers, so I can only imagine how difficult that must be, and especially if you are tackling that on your own. I'm happy to know that my videos bring you a little sense of calm...except for the hoarder house, but we won't talk about that, haha!

Thank you for this! I can completely relate to Mira. People judge because they see the “mess” however this is YEARS of accumulation and collecting. My basement looks similar. I can still create, just like Mira still creates, amongst the chaos. It happens. It’s embarrassing. It creates so much anxiety, sometimes one can’t sleep. I have utilized some of your sorting techniques & made a dent in one corner today. I kept focus on that one area. Then I walked away. I feel amazing. Is it still overwhelming….you bet. But little by little, I will chop away. This has inspired me more than you know. Thank you!! New subbie.

Poor baby Colt , he has a memory of a traumatic situation. I have a rescued cat that I got as a kitten. He runs at the sight of blankets; plastic bags, bags, towels. I think he remembers being captured as a feral kitten. Every time I walk into the room with one of those objects; I talk calmly to him so he is not traumatized. He's slowly learning these things are not a threat! You did the right thing removing it! Thank you for understanding his feelings! 🥰 I think Mira is going to have to gift a lot of that away or make bundles and sell them on Ebay, garage sales. That is a HUGE collection!

I kept 2 bags 2 go 2 crops, the rest purged. My supplies have outgrown small storage. I recommend using post it notes as temporary labels, because u end up moving stuff around until u see what space works best 4ur supplies. Once u find where u want it use tags & labeler. I made some and ordered some plastic hanging ones from the Zon.
Btw, I'm 63, retired, no children, 1 dog & 2 cats. I have a papercrafting room & small sewing room well supplied. I have more paper than I could use in 2 lifestyles, but it's organized. I've worked hard my entire life and I enjoy spending & giving my $$$ as I see fit. No judgement here!

So many people have said they wish I could come help with their scrapbook/craft room and I want to help every single one of them. As a scrapbooker, I enjoyed watching this series. I love sorting, and as long as items have a place to live, I do pretty well. Still a pile on the floor that I don't know what to do with. As for the pens you were sorting, I'm wondering how many are actually now dried out ... just saying, from experience.
😍 the bonus footage! As a kid I sorted pencils in order of colour. It made me feel calm and happy. As a late diagnosed woman with autism, I've since then heared of another woman these are typically autistic quirks and I'm totally fine with that! Also your dog and her scratching, it made me laugh and itchy myself! 😆

After I got my diagnosis last October, everything about my life started to make more sense and I am now finding all of "my people" out there in the world who get me and my weird quirky things I do. And, yes, sorting things like this has always been very calming to me. I think I just like making order out of chaos.😁

As someone who loves cleaning and organizing other people's spaces whenever the opportunity presents itself, I love vicariously experiencing it through your content, and this chock to the brim scrapbooking room has been amazing. I used to scrapbook before finding minimalism, and it's crazy how easy it is to fall into this situation, and I'm super proud of all Mira's hard work to turn things around and yours to help her do it. Also, thank you for mentioning the smoke detector, as I at first thought it was one of mine, and you saved me having to hunt it down 😂

I think she decided that a yard sale might not be the way to go. She might actually do an auction type thing with her viewers, which would be cool. She's still trying to decide how to go about it.

Dear Mira. I watch at Bonnie, she is the most kindest, selfless person I've seen on UA-cam. She has patience to deal with your hoarding habits, treating your crafts like if you pay her top money for that. I think if I was you, I would write a will and bequeath all your assets to her. I have lots of bags that I don't normally use. I have started to use them to fill with donatable items. Give them away and keep a couple empties in the car for grocery shopping. The best thing is STOP GETTING MORE.😅
