I will be answering some questions/concerns about the laundry soap recipe I posted and will also be folding A LOT of towels/washcloths, a few shirts/pants, and some blankets/sheets for all my laundry lovers! If you aren't a laundry lover, you just might be after this video...LOL! Plus, you get to take a look at the home I am currently working on. Laundry nerd here! I read any article I come across about doing laundry! Over the years, the "laundry pearls" I learned are--NOT to use fabric softener on towels and use half the amount of detergent you normally would. Fabric softener, over time, builds up on the towel causing them to become less absorbent. By using HALF the amount of detergent I had been using, I am no longer having to double rinse them. The last big thing for me was learning I was using too much detergent for large loads of any type. Cutting back to the "2" mark on the measuring lid of my liquid detergent was all that is really needed and, again, saves me from double rinsing (I have a front loader and if I see soap suds in the rubber gasket when I open the door, I do another rinse). Yes, I am definitely a laundry nerd!

There's a guy on youtube that repairs washers. He says fabric softeners ruin your washing machine because it gets trapped in the outer tub. Builds up , then people buy a new one
He goes in and cleans it out, and it runs fine. He also recommends vinegar for a fabric softener.

I used to do housekeeping in a hotel. The laundry lady would fold the pillow case and fitted sheet and put them in the folded flat sheet like a book. It kept the sets together.
I do a version of this - I fold the fitted and flat sheets and one pillow case and put it all into the other pillow case. Makes it easy to keep as a set. 😊
@shojinryori, now that sounds amazing.
A tip i learned over the years is to put sets of sheets into one of the pillow cases. This way, you have a full set and dont have to go through the stacks to find all the pieces. Great video.

Me, me 🙋♀️ I’m a laundry nerd!! So much so that I wish I lived in Utah with you 😂 I’d love to volunteer to do laundry for you at these cleanings. Laundry is my all time favorite house chore. My family thinks I’m nuts but there’s just something about it - sorting into piles, adding detergent, getting warm nice smelling clothes out & folding the chaos in order 🤪 it just makes my heart happy!
I have an idea. You should go hang out at your local laundromat and just tell people you volunteer to fold their clothes for free. They can take out their underwear first and you can fold the rest. Lol! 😂

Yes, it does! When they ask, "are you sure," I'm like, look, you have no idea how much I would love to do this for you. It feels kind of selfish sometimes. 😄

I'm right there with you on folding laundry! I fold my friend's laundry for her. She says not to, but it is relaxing to do and to watch. You mentioned Mac again...the first part of one of his videos scared me off, because of a couple of "odd" jokes he made. I decided to give him another look, and he cracked me up immediately. Obviously, I picked the wrong video to see the first time as my intro to him. He is hysterical AND has such a big heart (like you) to do what he and his family do for people.
Yes, sometimes Mack can step over that line a little bit, but he is really funny and, when you understand that he means no harm with his comments, but just has no filter, you just can't help but love him. He's a great guy!😁
Same thing happened to me with him 🤣 he was being so mean to his son then I realized he was just joking lol😂

Yesterday I learned my daughter uses
1 tablespoon of tide fry detergent
1 tablespoon of Oxiclean
1 tablespoon of baking Soda
In the dispenser of her front load washer, color me AMAZED!

These are ALL great ideas for quotes on merch! I feel like I need to pay you for these brilliant ideas! Coming up with stuff like this is definitely not my thing. I have spent a few months thinking about what I would want to put on my merchandise when I get to that point and I have not liked anything I have come up with so far. I used to have a small business where I made shirts, cups, hats, Disney autograph books and anything else people wanted. Pinterest and google have lots of ideas. I just went there when I would get stuck coming up with a design. Now with four kids in school and different activities, I don’t have time to do any of that. I’ll be ordering some merch when you are ready! I would love to support you and what you are doing. I think it’s amazing!

Years ago I got a flip n fold. It’s a little bit big. I used to fold the clothes on my bed. I even saw it on The Big Bang Theory. Sheldon used it of course he did. My husband and I are retired now. He does the laundry but I fold the clothes. I don’t drag out the flip n fold anymore though. But you definitely have some folding skills girl! I love watching the sheet and blanket folding video you posted. Of course I can’t get the hang of the queen fitted sheets but I do my best. Thank you for helping out these people. 🥰

I am a laundry nerd, lol. I made my own laundry detergent before. I wasn't too happy with it. I think the hard well water had something to do with it. Vinegar rinse I do really like. I also have never had any issue using borax in my washers.
I love doing laundry. I have made and used homemade laundry detergent many times. I, too, have never had any problems with my machine using it.

Add me to the Laundry nerd list. When my 3 boys were in college I couldn’t wait for them to come home and bring piles of laundry for me to do. Love love love doing laundry. I hang all my clothes outside when can to get them smelling soooo fresh.
As much as I love that my boys do their own laundry now, I do miss sorting and folding their clothes. I have problems.😄

I love doing laundry it's so relaxing I come home from work and my husband has washed everything and I'll sit down and put on a video and fold away and relax. My job isn't just very mentally taxing ... I work with physically and mentally disabled adults and children I have a 40 something client with a 5 yr cognitive age so I have to b able to treat him as an adult but make it understandable and fun for a 5 year old so my mind has be in 2 places kind of thing I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my job... but coming home and folding laundry is the best way to relax the soft and clean smell and then the perfect piles ugh I love it 😀 😍

You are my laundry idol! Sadly, I no longer do my own laundry because of health issues and the fact that our laundry room is two floors up and down that I can no longer safely maneuver. I have a laundry service with a wonderful woman at the helm. She folds my underwear into these nice little envelopes. They’re so cute. I think I’ve taken them out of the drawer and shown everybody who’s walk-through my place at sometime or another! Lol.

Folding is soothing, so is watching it. I also use vinegar instead of fabric softener! I haven't tried using borax in washing but I use it to clean my sink and drains. I bet your washing machine is very clean!

I really like the ‘pocket’ fold, I’m going to go fold all of my blankets like that! ☺ I like your yellow shit too, and if I had to throw an idea to you, I would totally rock a shirt that said, “… listen to the scrubbing sounds…”, because I like it when you just have the scrubbing noises sometimes, it’s remarkably soothing to me.
