Didn't think my tweets would kickoff the video lol. But the parity reason is actually a lot worse than most think. Minecraft runs at 20 tick per second and bedrock redstone is locked at only 10tps basically only giving redstoners half the timings they could use. Their solution to parity is just to make the java Copper Bulb worse rather than fix the root problem of bedrock's redstone system. We had a long convo with a dev in a discord and this was the one question they were dodging saying "it wasn't the only reason"

Rather than a simple revert, **GIVE EACH COPPER BULB DIFFERENT DELAY!** The copper bulb has four oxidation stages, perfect for four delay settings. If parity is a concern, just make the delays in redstone ticks instead of game ticks on Bedrock edition. There will never be parity with Java edition as long as redstone is locked to 10 ticks per second anyway.

Toycat is so unwilling to let it go that the entrance to the trial chamber is in fact the first room. The reason the small pocket of air exists beyond the door is so the copper would be exposed from a cave. Right now it doesn't always generate in a way where the entrance is always exposed to air similar to how amethyst geodes are always cracked open, but the opening doesn't always open up into a cave.
Not going to lie I find it a little funny how he keeps refusing to acknowledge this despite all evidence pointing to that being the case. You can even tell which direction you're supposed to walk through that room at because the vent only works in a single direction. Not to mention the chests that generate in the entrance have unique loot tables which give you very basic items to get your journey into the chamber started. I believe they're even at the highest layer of the chamber as well.
Technically you could break into the chamber at any point, but this is true for all structures. The woodland mansion has a clearly marked front door, but nothing is stopping you from smashing through a wall or window to get inside.

and the fact it was done because someone decided they personally didn't like it and wanted it too act like every other block is extremely stupid as it takes away the unique aspect of these new blocks which would have made them extremely unique and useful for redstoners.

Last I checked someone put up a bug fix complaint or whatever in the official place were we mention bugs and it got looked at and “fixed” despite being a intended feature kinda can understand why people are upset about this it’s 1 a change that nerfed the blocks (they did both the crafter and the copper bulb btw) and took away what redstone the redstone community found unique about them. 2 it was already so praised for its features and even was said to be intended mechanics so for it to be “fixed” because of a single bug fix report is rather frustrating. Yes it’s a snapshot but they got the blocks right the first time and it’s functionality opened the door for not only more streamlined redstone but also more intresting redstone.

There us no way the key is going to be for a door. If that was the case why would we even bother getting the key when we can just mine though the walls? My guess is that the key will be for some special loot chest that can only be opened with the key and drops no items if you break it.

    • @BeardedMan8319
      @BeardedMan8319 6 місяців тому +5

Yes, that is a problem I have had with the keys since they were added. If what they *could* be unlocking is a door, what's behind the door can be accessed by simply mining through the walls next to it, rendering them pointless. Even if the walls *were* indestructible, you could just eat a chorus fruit. And even if they *made* the area chorus fruit-proof (which is really hard to do), there are too many players that know how to glitch through walls by using ender pearls or boats to do that. So, my best guess is the same as yours; unlocking special loot chests.

Bedrock will never get the nether roof, QC, easy BUDs, waterless doors, 3 villager iron farms, or amazing mods like create. >waterless doors

      >or amazing mods like create
More because the Bedrock Modders are nearly non-existent and it's nowhere near as Modular as Java is, code-wise :V
Now from what i gather, Bedrock COULD ultimately do much more, if it were set up properly... but it isnt, it's kind of a dumpsterfire actually.
Now what WILL likely be impossible is the ability to select an older version and stick to it.
Bedrock cant go back to Alpha or Beta, or Release 1.2, or Release 1.8.9, or Release 1.12.2, or Release 1.16.5, or 1.18.2, or 1.19.4, they're stuck on the latest release versions.

I mean at this point they should've let both versions do their own thing at this point given how many years it's been where java and bedrock had become their own thing, I mean, they even have separate tabs on the Minecraft launcher at this point too solidifying them as their own unique versions too.

I'm not a game developer so obviously I don't know for a fact that it's exactly the same. But in construction and engineering projects a lot of times a person in charge of one section of a larger project comes up with what seems to be a great idea for their particular area of the project. Then later they have to walk it back because it turns out it is incompatible with something in the project as a whole. Just for example maybe an electrician comes up with a more efficient wiring circuit design but it interferes with the location of the plumbing or gets in the way of a structural support or firewall or something. Probably the same for the copper bulb thing. It probably seemed like a great idea to the guys making it but it interfered with something else that needed to work a certain way.

If I am gonna get 10-20 keys every time I clear a a Trial Chamber, but I only require one key to open one door, then that means 9-19 loot drops are essentially wasted on superfluous keys.
And while I could see using a trial key from Trial Chamber A to enter the vault door of Trial Chamber B, that just means less incentive to interact with the entire rest of that trial chamber, which is counterproductive game design.
No, the trial keys must logically be used for a large-scale, multi-instance purpose. I personally subscribe to the theory that Mojang is gonna bring back stone chests in the Deep Dark, and then make those chests require a trial key to open, further gating the exploration of Ancient Cities.
That would also be logical, seeing how Trial Chambers are meant to be mid-game, while Ancient Cities are rather more late-game content. You would need to do the mid-game Trial Chambers as a way to practice your situational awareness in megastructures in order to get value out of the more difficult megastructure of the Ancient City.

Actually, Mojang have said there will never be Redstone parity, because there are so fundamentally different that it would require entirely recreating Redstone on one platform or the other, so the idea that it's because they think Redstone needs to have parity is... shaky.

  • @dexterity494

Generally I agree that parity is important, but I think this is just a jerk move to remove it working on one platform because it wasn't working on another. _Expecially_ because it's been confirmed to be intentional by a dev, _especially_ because a lot of the major redstone names are on the platform where it works, _especially_ because it came out first on that platform, etc etc etc.

I completely agree with the marketplace needing great quality content & that's definitely apparent with the maps! The more updates we get for Minecraft itself, the more detail is put into them. My current issue with bedrock is the quality control itself, I've seen skins stolen from planet Minecraft & reposted on the marketplace, It is hard to prove that you own a skin compared to a resourcepack which again, quality control needs to look at some of the packs. The guidelines state that if you want to post a pack, 100% of the textures need to be completed but then you will see packs that are already on the marketplace with about 80% of the textures done

Theory about the duplication bug in the game's code:
Likely the copper grate inherited all the behaviors from a regular copper block. Mojang forgot to update the behavior for the new block. Sorta like a "copy paste" job gone wrong (though it's a little bit more complicated than that in Java due to what we coders call "inheritance").

from a programmer that isn't even involved in minecraft development it's pretty easy how they messed up waxing the grate
since the waxed version is its own block it just replaces the block with the waxed version which means they probably just copied the code from the normal copper and forgot to change some lines

    "dont attack mojang employees"
they are responsible, some of them have far less power than others, but when you say "the devs" a reasonable person means literally any and all of the people involved in rolling out those updates, even the ones who are so far removed that they are rather elitist about their position, the higher higher ups
