The controller handling on the new Motorsport is the best it’s ever been and multiplayer has its moments where the racing is also incredibly fun but holy shmoly the interface and single player is awful. If forza didn’t have its yearly glitch where I can get way too many credits right at the start of the game I would absolutely hate the progression and low earnings
First before I say anything, always happy to see you giving us some new content but I got something to say too So look, I’m the kind of lass who jumps in on a racing game as often as we Australians can hold onto a prime minister for more than a year and even then I only really play Need for Speed games, occasionally dipping my toe in another franchise like Wreckfest (surprisingly satisfying btw as someone not hugely into racing games so I’d recommend if you haven’t tried it yet) But even I can see that holy crap this game is a dumpster fire, that many crashes in that little an amount of time and having so much content that will eventually be lost? It’s for reasons like that why now I unfortunately feel like I just have to inspect a game that I’m unfamiliar with if I wanna try it, because stuff like this happens and it’s completely unacceptable TL;DR, good to see you again, Australians can’t keep prime ministers, would recommend Wreckfest if you haven’t tried it (can’t remember if you have currently and it’s 3AM as I’m writing this) and this game seems like a bit of a polished turd…see ya next upload hun
Bro the game awards is a fucking joke and I'm sick how people treat any of it seriously. Like they take value on ads over actual game categories and the way they disrespect racing games as a genre just pisses me off to no end.
sadly, I actually think in some ways my games "SURG One Track" and "SUN DRG" might be better in some ways than the current forza motorsport, and I made those for a 10 year old system in a month (each) for a game jam.
Im more of a PlayStation addict, but i do have to admit, that the Forza franchise does have very good installments, it's like need for speed, but it's different from NFS.
Another problem with the game is the lack race Tracks and old race cars. A lot of iconic race cars arent in the redboot like the mclearen le mans cars, Mercedes clk gtr race spec, Porsche 935, Porsche gt1 and many more.
it's something you can't even really mention on youtube or any other public site because of how bad it is. the P stands for p*rn, you might be able to figure out the rest without googling it (and i'd recommend you don't)
Forza Motorsport’s ai “at least to me” is a mix of forza 6’s first turn mayhem and forza 7’s lack of awareness to an extent. I also think that they knew the game wasn’t finished so that’s why they are doing monthly fixes.
By the time you've leveled up your car to a decent level, you've finished with it.. . After finishing the career theres nothing left to do really.. And as you say no actual motorsport events . . .
damn, even tho I never had interest in racing games, I'm actually enjoying listening to you talk about it, even if I know nothing about what you're talking lmao
The online Free Play doesn't force you to use a new car. The UI sucks at displaying this, but if you prep a car in the class, the left most option is "My Cars" and all your setup cars are buried in there
Just chekcing after the rest and I'm pretty sure I used it before. The option is there. If you own a car that meets the class requirement, you get a "My Cars" option on the left.@@RemyRaccoon
The game is tempting but like you said, there are some problems. I dont mind the grind, i don t mind the regular cars throughout career, but the current state of the game and the fact that it will have the same problem as GT sport.... how long do Forza servers run usually? If i want to buy the game next year, wait for fixes and maybe a deal, how many years can i play? Again, it s tempting, but GT4 might hit all the good spots for me and continue to be my evergreen choice.
Pretty much every single time I see a video of FM8, I become more glad that I never bought it. I pretty much vowed for FH5 to be my last Forza, and even that's almost certainly getting ditched when Solar Crown gets released (I desperately hope they gave that game the time it needs)
Even though only racing games i enjoy are need for speed most wanted ps2 and jak x, i still love your videos and hearing you talk about games i will never play. Keep up the good work :3
YES I'VE BEEN SAYING THE SAME THING ABOUT 7 THANK YOU Admittedly the dlc kinda ruins the car collection aspect of it but otherwise it was actually really good!!! Especially compared to this blegh
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2, EA Sports WRC, The Crew Motorfest, LEGO 2K Drive… hell, if you’re willing to trade four wheels for two, the RIDE series offers a lot of what makes previous Forza games so enjoyable, and RIDE 5 is more of that. It’s slim pickings, yet Forza still simply does not come out on top.
They implemented multi class races in the game, but they haven't even programmed the AI so all you get is slower class cars racing you and blocking you, faster classes can't overtake, just sit behind someone for most the race. It's an embarrassment
In this kind of game it's not place for street cars. This is not NFS, horizons, crew, this game is a semi simulator game , we wont racing cars at max level with reality performance and handling and a extra good online multiplayer series because we wont to fight with best of the best players
You'll find just as many people who play Forza and GT for the racing cars as you will the daily drivers tbh. I think Forza needs both because a) starting with slower cars offers a better feeling of progression, and b) people race in regular cars at track days all the time, so they deserve to be in the game just as much as GT3 and LMP1 and all that. When they take up the WHOLE career mode is when it gets to be an issue (at least, when the game shows actual race cars on the cover anyway. Other games like Enthusia are better because they focus on regular cars)
I disagree with your praise about the handling for 2 reasons. One: The good handling model is offset by the bonkers default tunes. Wonky tires pressures and other odd settings. One of the M3s has a heavy rear brake bias so your rear end is always wanting to step out. Only fix is to go through about 3 races (maybe less now that the levels were reduced, I don't recall if this was pre or post update) to buy the parts I didn't even want to get, just to fix the dumb brake bias. I could go on about how dumb it is to need an upgraded suspension in order to do basic car maintenance things like adjust the alignment, but I'll stop here on this. Two: I'm guessing since you have pretty limited play time, you didn't get to the timed events where you can drive some of the race cars. There was a big problem with aero wash which has supposedly been fixed. The problem I had when I was driving one of the LMP cars was that touching the inside kurb on a corner drastically upset everything and would trigger a spin. I watch WEC and IMSA from time to time. These cars run over them all the time. Why in this game am I getting kicked out to a spin instantly from the inside tires touching them? Most of the weight (and thus grip) is on the outside tires, that are still on the normal road surface.
I had to throw you a subscribe. finally, an honest opinion about this game. While it deserves to be slammed for the bare bones, single player mode, they had the nerve to even throw at us, the driving feels amazing. It just does and I’m comparing that to GT seven.
I always hear people say that Forza didn't deserve to win racing game of the year, but I never hear anyone give any alternatives. Which racing game should've won instead? The Crew Motorfest was the only other option, and it isnt better imo.
- If Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 is anything like the first, it’s a better game hands down (which isn’t saying a lot as I think the first game overall is kinda ok) - The Crew has always been content slop so it beating out Forza is debatable - aside from some issues with Unreal 5 I’ve heard excellent things about EA Sports WRC and I have no idea why that wasn’t nominated??
Carrying is a bit of an overstatement, I think with the most recent entry they've kinda fallen into the trap of being 'good enough' rather than being an excellent game, it's more of the same and the same is really cool but it's time for them to change it up a bit with the next entry.
it won it had the highest meta score.. and user score. of all the games in the category 4 updates already released. its a GASS game its not gonna be complete at launch
It would be really nice if people like you wouldn't constantly use this service game argument as an excuse. The game has been released in a technically pathetic state. Then there's the lack of content. Another silly excuse I keep hearing is the Game Pass. Just because the game is included in a "cheap" subscription is no justification for a poor product. Don't people have quality standards these days?
Look. As a complete single player, I thoroughly enjoy a good grind. But this requires that the whole thing leads to a satisfying goal. But FM8 doesn't do that. The individual championships are boring, there are no championships for racing cars and the presentation is the most boring I've seen in any game for years. (Across genres).
The major error is consider TGA as relevant award, I enjoyed FM8 but the game have a ton of issues and flaws. Or the gamers devaluate the whole TGA or their arguments are pointless.
But then again It made sweet love to Gamepad. If there's a demo version. (Don't look it up). But. The Bugs and Glitches just took the game off the Bucket List.
I agree with the criticisms of this game, but tell me for all of the games that came out this year. What else would you put above Forza? And don’t give me the Forza horizon copycat game, for example.
The Crew Motorfest? Nah, The Crew’s always felt like content slop to me. I didn’t play many other racing games this year but WRC (which wasn’t even nominated??) was really good aside from, among some other things, issues with UE5. And if RIDE 5 is anything like the rest of the series, I’d probs recommend that too - it scratches that Forza itch, albeit with two less wheels. Either way, any other game nominated for that award deserved the win, because at least they work.
@@RemyRaccoon WRC would be the closest one but unfortunately it only covers one niche of racing. I am not happy with awarding a development team for coming up short while they hyped their product as as if it were the best thing ever, but give it its competition. They still deserved it in this situation. There is a lot that needs to be criticized for how Forza has started, but there are positives, and they have to be considered as well.
@RemyRaccoon yea it's odd. nothin wrong with my setup or connection and it started happening like a month and a half ish ago atleast for me anyways. not sure if anyone else has the same issue
On S.X it's "crashs motorsport" , or "forza motorsbugs"......online bugs everywere, crash before racing every time, invisible car , smoking car (yeah , like australia in summer). This game is a shame. And it's obvious when you play fm2 or 4 now, or project car 1 and GT7, this FM8 is a shitty mobile game.
What is the deal with "CP"... What does it mean, and why is this an issue? At first I thought it was a non English speaking thing, but now I'm thinking its some sort of meme. So, what is up with it. I genuinely want to know. Also, you can use cars you've previously raced. Select "My Cars" in the select screen.
CP is a common abbreviation for child p*rn lmao Also yeah I know you can use cars you've previously used, it just simply wouldn't let me when trying to do an open class event - which I'm told might have been a bug
I don't get this games. I can barerly tell the diference between any sim and I don't know how can you make sequel eveery two years that add something meaningfull
Maybe I didn't fully get it, I was kinda sleepy while watching this, but the whole grinding sounds like they wanted to make the new Forza a big live service shit-show and gave up halfway.
Oh I'm in the same boat - even in games like Horizon 5 where you can immediately throw whatever you want into your cars, I find I prefer driving them stock, at least for a little while
Thing is, you could do that without the new system. Now people like me, who have been driving for 36 years, many track and drag events, also have to. Even though I know exactly how I want to set up every car I drive.
@@alexbrewer3675 you could, but some people like the fact you can’t just save up a bunch of cash anymore and instead have to drive and race to unlock upgrades
I’ll be honest, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about a joking way of saying I don’t like the opinion of someone’s critique of a racing game, even though they play a lot of racing games, and I just couldn’t come up with the joke. I will say that it absolutely sucks that the game you were looking forward to (even though people were focused on so many other games) came out disappointing. I do want to ask if you had any plans of trying the Fortnite racing mode they just made. I’m not a big racing guy myself (burnout 3 and wreckfest are the only racing games I have extensive experience with) but I’ve been enjoying it. It feels fast paced, I love he focus on drifting (where other games like Mario kart don’t feel like I need to do much, and I get that Mario kart is a party racing game), I don’t feel like Sisyphus when I make a mistake. Maybe it’s my inexperience with the genre, but I can see it being a big deal overtime (and the fact that Fortnite has a crazy user-made workshop thing means that people can probably make really good tracks. It’s only been out for a few days, I’ve no idea if there are user tracks yet).
I don't understand the T10 simps I see on reddit and other youtube videos. It's so clear that we are QA testing this game instead of playing the final release and it has NOT been built from the ground up for 6 years...
People blame the higher ups and execs. I cannot say I agree. Yes, These higher ups do get in the way of actual good game development quite often. But if you go back to the 2000s. They were doing the same back then. Its the devs who have actually changed. The size of these studios are very very clearly bloated beyond being able to maintain a clear design vision. Call it too many cooks, call it too many interns. Whatever. Todds 25 year passion project is nothing more than a passionless cobbling together of 25yo game engine tech with a loose through line. The Motorsport game looking to refocus on their genre has literally NO motorsport racing in its core campaign. Something critical has been lost in why people work on these games. The thing that actually makes good games to begin with.
the blame lies much more on the shoulders of the executives and investors pumping millions of dollars into these games, requesting more and more content in an ever shortening timespan. game developers, artists, designers, pretty much always just want to make good games with heart and soul, but it's getting much more difficult when the cost of development is increasing and the time to do it in stays the same, while executives ignore pleas and instead ask for more braindead live service elements
@@imnotshub More and more content? You're posting this on a video regarding a game that has the least content in the franchise, while also taking the most time to make of all the franchise entries. The "Live service" implementation in this game took a week to come up with. It contradicts your entire point.
I mean Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 is more of the same, and the first was pretty good, so there's an answer right there, but also WRC is apparently really good and it didn't even get nominated. I'd even prefer The Crew Motorfest winning (even if that series has always felt like content slop)
Cyberpunk at LAUNCH was the key word there. Both were buggy as hell, barely functioned on certain platforms, and overpromised but underdelivered. Cyberpunk is in a much better state these days, and Forza might be in a better state a year or two from now. That’s what I mean.
Like nah for real I know this is 21 hours later but like. How am I expected to enjoy the game if my progress is reset every other time I start playing? Come on now be serious
I love Forza, I play Horizon 5 weekly, and I literally said I’m a Forza 7 apologist (one of the most disliked games in the series) as I still go back and play that from time to time. This game just blows.

TL;DR, good to see you again, Australians can’t keep prime ministers, would recommend Wreckfest if you haven’t tried it (can’t remember if you have currently and it’s 3AM as I’m writing this) and this game seems like a bit of a polished turd…see ya next upload hun
Wreckfest my beloved 😍
What 💀
Have you given GT7 a try lately? They have added so much content since your last review of it.
Bro the game awards is a fucking joke and I'm sick how people treat any of it seriously. Like they take value on ads over actual game categories and the way they disrespect racing games as a genre just pisses me off to no end.
Cry harder
Next year FM will be what it should have been in the beginning 😮
sadly, I actually think in some ways my games "SURG One Track" and "SUN DRG" might be better in some ways than the current forza motorsport, and I made those for a 10 year old system in a month (each) for a game jam.
This is the game you play on controller when your sim wheel breaks or you're taking a break from it lmao
The racc is back
I’m 29 and I don’t understand the CP joke I keep hearing.
You should search the web for CP.
it's something you can't even really mention on youtube or any other public site because of how bad it is. the P stands for p*rn, you might be able to figure out the rest without googling it (and i'd recommend you don't)
And as you say no actual motorsport events . . .
You got that right. FM2k23 is a "meh" game at best. I only play it for the Free Play mode.
This is the first time I agreed with a furry, incredible
Not the compliment you think it is. Also your name is literally FALCONgamer
@@RemyRaccoon yea but I never used a furry avatar and never identified with falcons, just a name I put on

Now you have to agree with a furry for the second time ever. :)

damn, even tho I never had interest in racing games, I'm actually enjoying listening to you talk about it, even if I know nothing about what you're talking lmao
You know its questionable when a game that is still not polished to this day wins, one has to wonder, what happened behind closed doors!!!
This is one of the main reasons why I prefer Horizon
The online Free Play doesn't force you to use a new car. The UI sucks at displaying this, but if you prep a car in the class, the left most option is "My Cars" and all your setup cars are buried in there
Oh I know online play doesn't, I was specifically referring to the open class events at the bottom of the Builders Cup tab.
Oh, interesting. When the next series loads I'll look at it. I think I used a car from my inventory, but I could be mistaken @@RemyRaccoon
Just chekcing after the rest and I'm pretty sure I used it before. The option is there. If you own a car that meets the class requirement, you get a "My Cars" option on the left.@@RemyRaccoon
This may be one of the bugs you've been running into so who's to say
The game is tempting but like you said, there are some problems.
I dont mind the grind, i don t mind the regular cars throughout career, but the current state of the game and the fact that it will have the same problem as GT sport.... how long do Forza servers run usually? If i want to buy the game next year, wait for fixes and maybe a deal, how many years can i play?
Again, it s tempting, but GT4 might hit all the good spots for me and continue to be my evergreen choice.
Not to mention the track literally disappearing if you have the game on anything but an SSD
Pretty much every single time I see a video of FM8, I become more glad that I never bought it. I pretty much vowed for FH5 to be my last Forza, and even that's almost certainly getting ditched when Solar Crown gets released (I desperately hope they gave that game the time it needs)
TDUSC is gonna be great. Better than fh, nfs and even fm that's a track racer.
Even though only racing games i enjoy are need for speed most wanted ps2 and jak x, i still love your videos and hearing you talk about games i will never play. Keep up the good work :3

YES I'VE BEEN SAYING THE SAME THING ABOUT 7 THANK YOU
Admittedly the dlc kinda ruins the car collection aspect of it but otherwise it was actually really good!!! Especially compared to this blegh
So what better racing game was released this year?
Bought FM as a fix to my Gran Turismo craving but was sorely disappointed on almost every respect. Blegh
This game is So many AI's so freaking frustrating i use 25 degrees cockpit FOV 65 cockpit is a freaking Nightmare 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😅😅😅😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
Ah geez that sucks. I would have known that if only they PUT SOME ACTUAL MOTORSPORT EVENTS IN THE CAREER smh
Pretty much summed up my experience with the game...
I had to throw you a subscribe. finally, an honest opinion about this game. While it deserves to be slammed for the bare bones, single player mode, they had the nerve to even throw at us, the driving feels amazing. It just does and I’m comparing that to GT seven.
if u level one car and buy the same one it should be at same level as the one u own. it's a bug that it's not they are supposed to fix that
I always hear people say that Forza didn't deserve to win racing game of the year, but I never hear anyone give any alternatives. Which racing game should've won instead? The Crew Motorfest was the only other option, and it isnt better imo.
- If Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 is anything like the first, it’s a better game hands down (which isn’t saying a lot as I think the first game overall is kinda ok)
- The Crew has always been content slop so it beating out Forza is debatable
- aside from some issues with Unreal 5 I’ve heard excellent things about EA Sports WRC and I have no idea why that wasn’t nominated??
games ok, have not played in 4 days, loged in in today and all my money is gone, i had about 60000 know only got 3000, not to happy about that
Horizon has been carrying the Forza franchise for half a decade.
Carrying is a bit of an overstatement, I think with the most recent entry they've kinda fallen into the trap of being 'good enough' rather than being an excellent game, it's more of the same and the same is really cool but it's time for them to change it up a bit with the next entry.

it won it had the highest meta score.. and user score. of all the games in the category
4 updates already released. its a GASS game its not gonna be complete at launch
So? It still stinks lmao
“Except WOW it doesn't🙄”
The major error is consider TGA as relevant award, I enjoyed FM8 but the game have a ton of issues and flaws. Or the gamers devaluate the whole TGA or their arguments are pointless.
Now I see why I'm not going to get this so-called game of the year. And I don't care about the game awards.

CP is a common abbreviation for child p*rn lmao
Also yeah I know you can use cars you've previously used, it just simply wouldn't let me when trying to do an open class event - which I'm told might have been a bug
I don't get this games. I can barerly tell the diference between any sim and I don't know how can you make sequel eveery two years that add something meaningfull
WTF 💀💀
Maybe I didn't fully get it, I was kinda sleepy while watching this, but the whole grinding sounds like they wanted to make the new Forza a big live service shit-show and gave up halfway.
That’s exactly what they want to do, except for some reason the single player offering had to suffer for it and it sucks
Gotta disagree about the car level system. I’m the kinda person who likes to drive cars stock before leveling them up, so it works perfectly for me
Oh I'm in the same boat - even in games like Horizon 5 where you can immediately throw whatever you want into your cars, I find I prefer driving them stock, at least for a little while
Thing is, you could do that without the new system.
Bro seriously just compared this game to Fortnite

I don't understand the T10 simps I see on reddit and other youtube videos. It's so clear that we are QA testing this game instead of playing the final release and it has NOT been built from the ground up for 6 years...
GamingBolt gave the game a 9 out of 10.
Still struggling to see why this wasn't a cross gen title, Horizon 5 overall had a much better presentation and style than this

Comparing this to cyberpunk shows how out of touch you are....
Cyberpunk at LAUNCH was the key word there. Both were buggy as hell, barely functioned on certain platforms, and overpromised but underdelivered. Cyberpunk is in a much better state these days, and Forza might be in a better state a year or two from now. That’s what I mean.
