next Racclog should be out within the week (it's Blue Dragon)! then I got a big Ratchet video planned for both the 50th RemyRaccoon/valeforXD episode and to tie in with the series' 20th anniversary. Be there or I'll steal your teeth
@Sue Bellem it’s under seven seconds and buried beneath gunfire and explosions so I’d be surprised if UA-cam picks anything up. It’s also been through processing which usually identifies copyrighted material straight away so yeah nah I’m pretty sure I’m good
This game is the definition of fumbling the bag, the community which had a civil war between the old and new fans united together with how bad it turned out, and it doesn't help when the devs/community Managers have to result to calling Thier fanbase a bunch of terrorists over some basic criticism. Like they did everything in the rule book of what not to do with a triple a game in the year of 2022 lmao
@@RemyRaccoon you would think that because first impressions matter that they wouldn't hire someone that's so arrogant. But because of said community managers actions it really isn't helping this game's marketing
@@Lonewolf360gaming Wait actually called them terrorists? Thats not just bad community management that might be the record, so out of left field with that one.
Honestly, I've got a mate who's an absolute fan of the original Saints Row and Saints Row 2. We had a big discussion about how the characters and stories are rather well thought out. He really was a fan of the gangster culture that the series tackled since it was different from GTA's usual approach to organised crime with its stories. It was because of that appreciation he made fun of the reboot relentlessly when it was in the news. Even getting mad over the fact it seemed like the remake wanted nothing to do with its gangster roots. He even admitted that, as much as he didn't like 3, it was by far more respectful to it's origins than the reboot is. My own take on the reboot was it seemed unremarkable. And honestly, once the developers started attacking their own fans, that was all I needed to see. Even if it's frustrating, you NEVER attack your own audience. That isn't a good look for anyone.
I remember when 4 came out, I thought "there is no reeling it back in." A reboot was the only way to go. It's really a shame that this game came out so bad because I am not sure where the series goes from here, if it is lucky enough to go anywhere.
There was Gat out of Hell after 4. It wasn't mindblowing or anything but I'd say it was a pretty underrated game. The flying and some of the new powers were pretty fun and some of the jokes were pretty chuckle worthy. It's definitely not as good as 4 overall, but it also obviously wasn't trying to be, and was just a little side adventure to tide us over for a while. Honestly almost any of the alternate endings in that game are better ideas than what they actually went with for the next proper mainline entry. We could have had them starting over on a new planet, or rebooted versions of the characters in a parallel universe, but instead we got... Whatever this is.
@@Crow_Rising 4 was shit, it was grindy and not very interesting. Gat out of hell was more filler crap with very little story. After 2 things have gone increasingly wrong. 3 already had severe issues, but at the very least it was wacky and fun and the pacing was alright.
@@LhynnBlue I disagree. Sure, 4 had grind, but it's incredibly fun to use the powers once you have them. It's the perfect game to boot up when you're in the mood for a relaxing power trip. The powers do kinda make the vehicles obsolete, but I think that's a fair tradeoff for having the most unique roaming gameplay. There's something special about just going around doing your own thing without worrying about missions. There's also a lot to do, so if grinding starts to get old you can just take a break by working on something else, and a lot of it ends up working in tandem anyway. I was able to get 100% without too much issue, though it did take me a while. If you felt like 4 wasn't very interesting, that's a sign that you're probably not the target demographic. The target demographic did change dramatically as each new game in the series came out, so it's not like it's entirely your fault, but the game itself as a standalone product isn't worse for it either. All I can really say is that if you liked the older games such as SR2 more and didn't find the sequels since then interesting, you're probably better off just sticking to GTA. GTA5 is better than any of the Saints Row games anyway.
Manga: Saints Row 1 & 2 Anime: Saints Row The Third & IV OVA: Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell Movie: Agents of Mayhem Netflix Adaptation: Saints Row (2022)
The problem with 90% of attempts to "remake something for a modern audience" is that they're tampering with the old spirit because "times have changed." For a bearable modernized remake, the objective is to re-materialize the old spirit within the new environment.
The worst part is past games were significantly better. It’s not stuck in the past. The past let you kill people with a single revolver shot. This game is rejecting the past despite the past telling them common sense.
Also I feel like the story feels like only the first act, I mean one of the villains gets killed by the mexican dude out of nowhere, you fire the private militia boss and the thing with that codex or whatever just gets forgotten halfway through the game and nevers gets mentioned again. It all feels rushed and none of the plotlines arrive to a satisfactory conclusion
THIS. The train heist with The Nahualli felt like it was the end of the first act imo, but looking back through my footage, that was in the 14th recording, and I had 20 overall. The pacing is horrible lmao
@@RemyRaccoon That is the problem. The game does have good missions that capture the old feeling. It's just a shame that one of these good missions are followed by countless forgettable ones....
My experience with this series is: I played Gat out of Hell in 2016 and remember really enjoying that game. And then I played IV re-elected (actually just finished it, aside from dlc, two days ago) and it was great. Charming, witty, plenty of fun moments (except not being able to do the final mission in coop for some reason). The fun of these games, to me, are the feeling that a person is making them. The part in IV where Nolan North, the main villain, and multiple side characters sing Biz Markie’s Just a Friend is such an out of left field moment but works very well. Moments where I can’t tell if it’s a bug or the developers intended for vehicles to just go through the floor. It’s the wacky moments littered throughout the game that made me enjoy them. I probably won’t play this reboot because it doesn’t feel like it keeps those moments and is just another open world game that’s tedious and annoying. And the fact that people consider IV to be decisive when I loved it makes me really excited to eventually play 3.
SR1 and 2 is one style, SRTT is a confused in between that could have been executed better but solid concept and SRIV/GOOH fun facr were DLCs turned full game. They ended up pretty fun! Overall SR2>SR1>SRIV>SRTT>Agents Of Mayhem=SRReboot>SRGOOH
What constitutes a gta clone tho i never got it every story in gta is different so is it just being able to do open world criminal activities? Because SR was originally about 1 gang taking the city over from the other gangs but only gta SA had this feature and was the only game to have a proper customisation system before gta5 came i feel like thats why SR died it wasnt allowed to keep the seriousness and had to become more wacky to get away from people comparing it
Volition has a very good system. They slice their fanbase so thinly that it can dissolve in a pan with just a little oil. They use drops in writing quality and never-asked-for sudden tone changes for each new game starting with The Third. It's a very good system.
If I was in charge of the reboot, I'd have it be a mix of 2 and 3. A serious and gritty gang story with occasional over the top missions, like an epic boss fight against the rival gang leaders. There would be wacky activities on the side though, got to have that.
I'm just tired of big title games sucking. I never cared for the Saints Row series, but seeing this reboot is still sad. It's nothing but more of the same we keep seeing. Add it to the ever-growing pile of ruined franchises. Gaming is fuuuuunnn..
Halo Infinite - Live service without the service Saints Row 2022 - Open world without the world Sucks to see, but hey, new RACC! Watching on my break to break the monotony of work today, brightening my day as always, fren! ^w^
The big red flag is the fact enemies have HP bars and are damage sponges. Nobody likes shooting a gun 25 times into a enemy because of a arbitrary level or scaling system. For example removing the level scaling from Cyberpunk 2077 where all enemies die from a normal amount of shots (1 headshot=kill without armor) made that game so much more fun! That is why GTA is so much fun, the enemies are your equals and it makes fight fights much more dynamic and realistic. Instead when I watch SR Reboot footage everyone is rolling, dancing around like its Halo or Elden Ring which makes no sense.
GTA did it right where for example the swat team members take a bit more shots to drop because they're wearing armor. This game though you got shirtless dudes that can take 50 shots to the torso before dropping
I know we all make light of the situation and make videos and post about lack luster games but in all seriousness, this is unacceptable. At the end of the day this is a PRODUCT. I’m not even a gamer but I understand that this is broken merchandise and doesn’t deserve our money. They wouldn’t release a movie with editing mistakes, they wouldn’t release a pair of pants with only one leg. But for some reason when it comes to games it’s like “ohh it’s ok, we’ll fix it later” WHAT?? How is this allowed?!
Nice to see you out and about again queen, would be interested in seeing you attempt the deadpool game simply because I also started playing it recently and at least it has better shooting controls than this does If not then maybe deus ex human revolution/mankind divided as they are interesting games and some of my personal favourites from the last few years
when this game became epic exclusive when it came out i saw red flags when this game released. looks like my hunch was right (the trailer of this game didnt help either)
The funny thing is that there is actually a way it could one-up going to hell/becoming president of a virtual world/alien ship: Multiverse shenanigans. Have the Saints use the alien tech to breach into a parallel universe, which naturally causes dimensional instability, and as the story progresses new regions are unlocked as a new parallel universe merges with the current one. One region could be Saints 1 style, another Agents of Mayhem style, another where all the villains won. Said villains could be trying to take advantage of the dimensional instability to take over the multiverse, with the 3rd act twist being the villains are actually minions of the rulers of the game's final region: The Evil Saints universe led by an evil, ruthless, no nonsense version of the player character right down to evil versions of their customisations and being as equally OP as the player. They even use the same guns as the player. Best part: by opening up the multiverse it allows any further Saints Row reboot to be both canon and allow the old Saints to show up because multiversal travel.
You know, I feel like the backlash Volition got could have been avoided if they didn't call this "Saints Row". It's not hard to come up with another title.
Oh, big agree here. Absolutely no reason the criminal empire you start needed to be called the Saints considering the reason your character does so is because they’re in a church at the time? And they have a stroke of totally random inspiration? Like you literally could have called this game anything else lol. It’s only Saints Row because of name recognition I think.
Yesss i was waiting for this one, i share your sentiment, i'm also very disappointed, there was soooo much potential for a good SR reboot, but they released a buggy mess with poorly implemented mechanics, and some of those mechanics, were done better back in 2006 in the original game
For real I’m playing the first one right now and I can’t believe how much more fun it is. Not like it’s perfect, heck I’ve stumbled across some funky physics and silly bugs, but it feels like almost everything was done better in the game that’s 16 years older lmaooo
@@RemyRaccoon well, back then all the devs and publishers did was make good games to the best of their creative ability, and that's exactly what they delivered But now all that matters to them is that the games are 100% politically correct and not offensive in any way, the rest is whatever lol
I’m not even sure if I want them to try to make a true saints row game anymore. It’s best they just go the way of the dodo 🦤. In 7 months volition will be closed.
@Domovoi 28 heartily disagree. Plenty of shit games now, yeah, but there were just as many shit games back then too. Also, whenever I see things like “new games suck because they’re PC,” that generally means “new games suck because punching below the belt and making fun of everyone is the only form of comedy and if a game doesn’t make fun of black/gay/trans/foreign people then it’s shit lmao.” At least that’s my experience, anyway. Games can be funny without offending people.
@@RemyRaccoon true, and people forget that Saints Row was always woke, I guess they just didn't pay attention to the story or haven't played the games in a while.
And I was actually thinking about pre-ordering this bs. I absolutely HATED the direction this game took and how volition treated the fans but was actually thinking of pre-ordering this but didn't........THANK GOD FOR MONEY TROUBLES 😆 🤣 😂
I still wished for sr4, srgoh, am where movies in saints row 3. Like Gangsters in Space but the other games where sequels and spin offs. This was the only way to get back and the other games still happend but a bit different. An other idea of mine is, that Johnny gat had the deal with God in srgoh where the saints never existed and the earth is rebuild. But now the saints are back and both universes could colide. Maybe the new and old saints work together to bring down a bigger treat. Maybe killbane puts a gang together with an evil johnny gat clone and Dex to end the saints one and for all. It should had been this way to please og and new fans alike. But it went different. Maybe in SR2...
Y'know, I think the fact that the older games that basically just got called GTA Clones basically got on the old dev teams nerves; which in turn made the games become more wacky than the first two, which the reboot definitely follows; and sucks at it.
The disappointment you felt is why im angry with the reboot cause i know all they had to do was emulate the things in 2 and 3 and it woulda been a great game but all we got was this.
I heard decent things about Mafia III, just that it was poorly paced and very repetitive in the middle bits. And with Crackdown 3, the main negative I heard was that it had no new ideas in the 12 years since the original. Saints Row’s probably a bit like Crackdown 3 then - except the controls are legitimately terrible and the writing is bad
They could've rebooted the game with the same characters... after all the ending of Gat Out Of Hell was Gat recreating earth to start all over and eveyone lost their memory. So... old Volition left things ready to continue with the 3rd Street Saints. But this new people f******* all up. That's he only way to fix things and save the company if they have a bit of common sense left. Actually the Saints should comeback in the next game and take this city from this new characters. It will be perfect to bully their own failed game and characters while the original Saints take their place.
I was playing play saints row 2 these last days since it’s on the new psn thing and I couldn’t help to be sad how so low the Saints have gone. What a shame. I don’t ever see a new saints row game and it’s sad to see the potential of this series wasted because they didn’t want to be a gta clone. So sad. Rip saints row.
Arguably that's the point - taking an established formula and doing something different with it, using new characters, starting a new plotline etc. And after Saints Row IV, which you couldn't really top (story wise, not gameplay wise, depending on who you're asking), a reboot for Saints Row made sense I think. Just, you know, it's not very good lmao
I hate this game but I love the series and one that has always irked the shit out of me was the devs forcing you to do side content. In the second game it was there but it was less of an issue because the objectives were spread out and you could do then when you needed them. In the third game they really tried to disquise the side content as missions. But when side content becomes a block to story progression (especially long, boring objectives [ie the toxic waste you mentioned]), that's kind of unnacceptable. Firstly, it totally takes you out of the main story (okay, this game doesn't have much of a story but on first playthrough I didn't know that), and secondly it was on there, I feel, to hide the fact that there IS no story.
After discovering this reboot, I might buy Saints Row 2 for PS3. But for now I will play older GTA games instead. Good thing I still have PS2 & PS3 consoles. If I have to say anything, is that not everything needs a remake & reboot.
For me, it's definitely not as bad a game as many people always make it out to be. But it is also not a very good game that will stay in your memory for a long time. I certainly had fun with the game. But while playing through the story, I had many moments where I thought, "What's the point? What am I doing here?" After the story was over, I never touched the game again. The map is just not immersive enough to keep me interested. And I'm not in the mood for the pointless 100 % grind.
I wouldn't really call Kid Icarus: Uprising so much of a reboot more like a sequel, perhaps, or a reimagining? I mean, spoilers, Hades does mention 8-Bit Pit in the post-credits so... take it with a grain of salt? But I do say that I'm disappointed that Saints Row didn't go ahead and sequel to IV, and no, Gat out of Hell, I do not count as a sequel. Its more... standalone DLC than anything else.
On the Saints Row SubReddit, there are people on there who say: The game is the best one that came out this year. It's their new favorite game, it's just as good as 2 or 3...or, and this one gives me an aneurysm...is the best game out of the franchise...🤦♂️
I find it funny that two separate reviewers have made femboys as the player character. Definitely the best thing to come from this game with the exception of this review.
I'd never smoke cause that makes me feel icky BUT I got a product for free and even if I didn't like it, I still appreciate getting free stuff, especially if it saves me a hundred dollarydoos lol
I will still buy this game but when it’s on sale and it’s patched, I don’t really care about the story. I’m just gonna destroy the world while listening to the nuclear blast station
Song names pop up on screen as they start playing! Unless you mean the very last one which is Scootin Through The Clocktowers Beneath The Sea from A Hat in Time :3
This is actually one part of the game I’m fine with. They start off friends and that’s honestly all we need to know, I think - but it would have been neat to see how these four in particular got acquainted
Just found your channel, enjoy your content, and that being said I'd like to suggest you checkout midnight fight express it has so much mechanics and story goodies for a channel like yours to explore

“You say the story isn’t a problem” Did you miss the parts where I say “yeah there’s a fair bit of cringe,” “the story spins its wheels for far too long and ends on a dud twist and an anticlimactic showdown” and “the idea is there, they just do nothing with it”? But nah, because I don’t 100% hate it, that means I must love it and would defend it with my life I suppose lmaooo
It quite literally started as one. It was an open world third person shooter focused on gang warfare that took a satirical look at American culture, let you perform drive-bys, is crude for the sake of being crude, etc etc. But like I say in the video, Saints Row /started/ as a clone before finding its own identity as a more over the top action game as the series continued. Calling something a clone rarely carries a negative connotation anyway and I don’t get why people get so upset over it tbh
I can’t tell if all the anti-capitalism stuff in this game is something the game wants me to take seriously, or if the game is trying to take the p$$$ on anti-capitalists
If you mean me specifically, I received a review code. If you mean in general, some people don't know any better, others have actually enjoyed the game, so you never know really
My god, y’all just pick and choose what you want to hear huh I said it STARTED as a GTA clone before finding its own identity. And you cannot look at the first game and tell me it’s not a GTA clone lmao - every game afterward is debatable, especially 3 and 4, but 1 especially is basically “hey guys look we made GTA for next-gen lol” Christ y’all gotta pull the stick out of your ass and not take offence to every string of words that mildly irks you
Easy solution to this crapfest: go buy and play Elden Ring. It’s going to sweep every single award at this years VGA Awards. Yes, including 2022’s game of the year.
Sorry I'd I disagree with people who dislike this game I like it I had fun playing the game all that matters for people who didn't like the game just return it get your money back lol
On one hand, I received this key for free from the devs. On the other hand, not all storefronts offer refunds after you’ve installed the game. On a third hand, wherever that came from, “just return the game if you don’t like it” doesn’t suddenly make the fact that a game you were excited for turned out bad any better. You’re free to enjoy it of course but “just return it” is not really a solution.
@@RemyRaccoon well then don't play the game if people don't like the game that's there opinion I'm just saying I like the game if people installed the game and didn't like it can be unstalled its a self made game its not going to be the exact same thing as the og saint row its fan made

@@2emo2function what about the mission where you throw fireworks out of the back of a truck and throw them at gang members that's pretty unique and fun the reboot if they did that it would be here stand on top of the car and fire Rockets
That's not inaccurate. The first one was a almost a carbon copy of GTA San Andreas. It didn't really have its own identity as a game till 2, and that's only because GTA was changing to a more realistic tone.
@@fierysmile2929 really? Insurance fraud? Gang takeovers? 4 part story line? While there are some missions that are similar to each other, GTA games after SA with the exception of Vice City stories barely touched on that ever again. Hell, they're not even core mechanics of GTA games anymore. Forgive and Forget only puts you on bail, and you _can_ borrow money and it's not because you're in debt. It is inaccurate, because the game itself _did_ fully embrace the gang warfare while giving you fun side missions. Any similarities are mute considering customization, the actual shooting, and graphics are better than GTA SA.
@@fierysmile2929 oh, and while we're on the topic of clones; let me remind you that the Saints were originally supposed to be green, but it was until they realized that another gangster game, that was going to be launched, had the heroes also be green, the devs had to change the gang color. At the time they really weren't aware of SA. Rockstar's still the same old same old company who's secretive until like a few months before launch (But you could tell me about a timeline correction).
San Andreas had gang takeovers and pushbacks (which tied directly into the Respect meter, as did the activities, which being different doesn't change the fact that they were there since the beginning) and several acts in its story, just like every other GTA before it. The only real differences between SA and SR1 gameplay-wise was that you didn't need respect to play missions and player character growth wasn't tied exclusively to activities. The main reason Saints Row took off as a franchise was that it filled the void GTA left by not having a title out at the turn of the generation and did it well. IV coming away from its own identity by making things too realistic helped it out greatly in ensuring people bought Saints Row for the reasons they _used_ to buy GTA. Don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise. Most people flocked to Saints Row because Rockstar forgot what GTA was supposed to be and by the time they remembered, Saints Row had already taken the throne for the go-to crazy open-world game. Volition, at the behest of THQ, just leaned so hard into 'crazy' that they burned it out early and alienated people who wanted the gangster games that SR1 and 2 were. That's why we're here with this reboot. Whoever they hired to replace the original developers at Volition didn't respect the speed nor the purpose of vehicle they built to compete, and they crashed and burned again. Rockstar fell victim to this themselves with GTA V, just they didn't crash, they just slapped new coats of paint on the same vehicle, hoping the engine doesn't give out after 500K miles.
As usual, you haters completely missed the point of the Saints Row reboot. It was made to look that way for a reason, to bring back that feeling of running around in Stillwater, SR 1 and SR2. Non Saints Row fans and haters fail to see that, and they are missing out. I truly feel sorry for the haters who approached this game with a closed mind. Fact is, Volition did an amazing job, the reboot is full of attention to detail, its got cool new characters, and the best customization of any Saints Row game. How can any thinking person dislike a game where you get exploding rocket footballs, a wingsuit, a hoverboard, monster trucks, and a whole new city to explore, complete WITH suburban areas as well (Stillwater and Steeleport confined us to city only) Stop hating on the reboot and try actually playing it.
I DID try actually playing it. I played almost 20 hours of it. I beat the final story mission, I tried most of the business ventures, I got the rocket-propelled football. Yet having gotten about halfway through the first game again very recently, I can confidently say I think the reboot sucks. And I'm not a hater either - I'm one of the few that was open to the concept when it was first unveiled, as should have been evident when I said the exact same thing in the video itself (which I'm hoping you've actually watched and this comment isn't just a knee-jerk reaction to the thumbnail and title). I wouldn't call myself a Saints Row "fan" necessarily but I have beaten 2 and 3 and greatly enjoyed them, so I know exactly what I'm saying when I say that the reboot doesn't hold a candle to them, or frankly, even the first game, which is saying something considering it's definitely aged. You can add all the cool shit you want but it doesn't mean squat if all you can say is that "the game has cool stuff." What good's an exploding football if the aiming controls are garbage? Are monster trucks that fun if the vehicle physics are crummy? Does it matter if there's a new map to explore if there's nothing to really discover, and if there's nothing dynamic happening outside of one-note missions? Do me a favour. Next time you get the urge to comment on a negative video of a game you like, don't frame it as "I enjoyed it therefore you lower beings missed the point." Just say you liked it instead. Feel free to explain why, but ditch the attitude you bring along with it. It makes you look like an unlikeable asshole lmao
Why do ppl keep saying that the old Saints Row games were "GTA clones"?? They weren't GTA clones, they were GTA competitors, big difference. Do ppl go around calling Sonic a Mario clone? Or Forza a Gran Turismo clone? Or Silent Hill a Resident Evil clone? Or Tekken a Street Fighter clone? No! of course they don't because even if 2 or more franchises have similarities with each other, they still have enough different and unique things to set them apart. The word "clone" implies that something is a carbon copy of something else, like an exact duplicate, and that's obviously NOT the case with Saints Row and GTA. The first two Saints Row games (even though they had similarities to GTA) did enough things to set them apart from the GTA franchise such as the insane customization options where you can create any character you wanted, the funny but not overdone humor, the insanely fun side activities (like Insurance Fraud & Crowd Control) that put even GTA's side activities to shame, and so much more. SR1 & SR2 did enough to set itself apart and stand on its own 2 feet. Yes SR1 & SR2 had similarities to the GTA games, but they still had a lot of unique things about them that the GTA games did NOT have. So it boils my blood when ppl refer to SR1 & SR2 as "GTA clones", especially since the word "clone" also usually implies that something is of lesser or cheaper quality than something else, its usually used in a derogatory way as if to call something inferior. If anything, both SR1 & SR2 were even better than GTA in certain aspects. So its just stupid for other ppl to keep referring to the early Saints Row games as "clones of GTA". Plus, I noticed that this stupid "clone" stigma is mainly used on any games that are similar to GTA. Because as I said before, nobody calls Sonic a Mario clone or Silent Hill a Resident Evil clone. The only ppl that still refer to the first two Saints Row games as "GTA clones" are the GTA 5 sharkcard fanboys.
No I wouldn’t call any of those games clones because they’re not. Calling Sonic a Mario clone would be like calling Burnout an Assetto Corsa clone. But the first Saints Row is very, VERY close to GTA - gangsters, drive-bys, crass and offensive humour - with only a few things to set it apart eg some of the activities like Insurance Fraud. As I say in the video, it “started” as a GTA clone before it quickly found its own identity with the second game onward. Y’all get upset over a simple choice of words like that? Jesus man, Saints Row isn’t gonna fuck ya lmao
@@RemyRaccoon No. Even SR1 had enough things to set it apart from the GTA franchise. The SR series was NEVER a clone of GTA. I already explained what a "clone" is in my prior comment, if you're too braindead to comprehend it then thats NOT my problem. Like I said, only the idiotic GTA 5 fanboys still use the words " GTA clone" to describe other similar crime games. As for my pfp, incase you need glasses, its an image of Vice City, which is an old GTA game. The classic GTA games were good but GTA 5 is trash, so its not hard to understand. The fact that you brought up my pfp thinking that you had some type of "point" or "upper hand" is pretty baffling & hilarious......
This man personal feelings has to be into the story how does the game suck but the story does not… the story the characters and the gameplay is horrible
When did I say the story didn't suck? Did you conveniently skip over the few minutes after the intro where I explained why the story was not good? Or are you just focusing on - and misinterpreting - the part where I more or less said "it's a little overhated for what it is but the execution still fails"
Bro you said it gets unnecessary hate like it was good, it get hates because it’s bland and boring. I watched your whole video and gave it a thumbs up, that literally was the only thing I did not agree with. it was horrible no engagement so it deserved all the hate! like you even mention GTA 5 which came out in 2013 if you compare that story mode to saints row reboot IT DESERVES THE HATE. Then you contradicted your self by saying it got unnecessary hate in the beginning then saying all the missions are just shooting missions nothing else then on top of that you said the shooting was bad! like come on bro
The story IS getting unnecessary hate because half the people hating on it are hating on it for the wrong reasons. “It’s not offensive anymore!” “It panders to the left!” “It’s too politically correct!” “It never would have worked, it makes no sense that millennials would kill people over student loans!” Maybe the humour being squeaky clean and inoffensive removes its personality in a sense but most people are hating on it because of its premise and one or two specific moments (the beginning where the player character drops corse words for around a minute straight, the clip I played about the AF abbreviation) when also there are a few moments that are fine, maybe even close to being funny. Right after you get fired for example and the goal of the mission is to lay about in bed depressed, search the apartment for food and attempt - and fail miserably - to cook a waffle. I also mentioned the LARP sections which, as I said, start out kinda charming, even though they quickly wear out their welcome due to them just being regular shooting sections with a different skin. People are legit saying this is the worst story ever put to paper and it’s just not. It sucks, it misses the mark a lot of the time, but it’s not on the same level as something like Disaster Movie. Hell, I’d rather put up with this version of the Saints over anything that happened in, say, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters.
Saints Row’s writing sucks and I’m pretty sure I made that abundantly clear in the video considering there was a whole section dedicated to me saying “there’s a good idea here, they just completely fail to execute it,” but also, there are worse things than Saints Row out there. It’s just bland and inoffensive lol. It’s got absolutely nothing on shit like The Nutshack or Disaster Movie
next Racclog should be out within the week (it's Blue Dragon)! then I got a big Ratchet video planned for both the 50th RemyRaccoon/valeforXD episode and to tie in with the series' 20th anniversary. Be there or I'll steal your teeth

How are so many big budget games these days launching with more bugs than the entirety of the yearly indie game population? This makes 7 or so right?
"our game is great and you're all just stupid haters!"
We will never ever again have games like Saints Row 2 and GTA IV. These two games are arguably the highest peak of the open-world crime genre.
I remember when 4 came out, I thought "there is no reeling it back in." A reboot was the only way to go. It's really a shame that this game came out so bad because I am not sure where the series goes from here, if it is lucky enough to go anywhere.
Just bury it. Not worth trying to make a sequel. Have a small developer make something inspired in the first and second game.
they could of gone full sci fi after 4 and have a intergalactic gangwar.

They should have hired Fans of Saints Row to do a Remaster of 1 & 2 as a follow up to 3's Remaster.
The problem with 90% of attempts to "remake something for a modern audience" is that they're tampering with the old spirit because "times have changed." For a bearable modernized remake, the objective is to re-materialize the old spirit within the new environment.
Definitely feels like a game that got stuck in the past without bringing anything new to the table .
The worst part is past games were significantly better. It’s not stuck in the past. The past let you kill people with a single revolver shot. This game is rejecting the past despite the past telling them common sense.
The only thing it “modernized” was the cringe

@@gunigougou4505 do woke ppl even play games or are they just glued to twitter and cnn?
Also I feel like the story feels like only the first act, I mean one of the villains gets killed by the mexican dude out of nowhere, you fire the private militia boss and the thing with that codex or whatever just gets forgotten halfway through the game and nevers gets mentioned again. It all feels rushed and none of the plotlines arrive to a satisfactory conclusion
THIS. The train heist with The Nahualli felt like it was the end of the first act imo, but looking back through my footage, that was in the 14th recording, and I had 20 overall. The pacing is horrible lmao
It's a bunch of poorly written micro plots cobbled together into a badly paced story

@@RemyRaccoon I'd recommend the Mercenary games. At least the first one would be on the XBOX store.

@@kempolar9768 FACTS
Well, it can work, in an rpg like Cyberpunk where it kinda makes sense, not in an open world crime game. At least, from what I've seen.
I cannot fathom how many times a studio has chased the mythical "modern audience". At the end of day all you had to do was make a good product.
Nice to see you out and about again queen, would be interested in seeing you attempt the deadpool game simply because I also started playing it recently and at least it has better shooting controls than this does

Thank you! Wouldn’t mind revisiting Deadpool actually haha
when this game became epic exclusive when it came out i saw red flags when this game released. looks like my hunch was right (the trailer of this game didnt help either)
The funny thing is that there is actually a way it could one-up going to hell/becoming president of a virtual world/alien ship:
Multiverse shenanigans.
They should have just called it the city of the game it would have been generic yeah but at least it would have been Saints Row or an attempt at it
Oh, big agree here.
@@RemyRaccoon well, back then all the devs and publishers did was make good games to the best of their creative ability, and that's exactly what they delivered
But now all that matters to them is that the games are 100% politically correct and not offensive in any way, the rest is whatever lol
That's cool that you're playing Mad World music. I haven't played it I just listened to the music sometimes
And people thought Agents of Mayhem was uninspired.
Sadly, being uninspired is a compliment compared to what Volition did with this remake. SR 2020 was an insult to anyone with intelligence.
That really pisses me off. And let's not forget rockstar literally took ideas from 3rd and placed different names on them and yet it's better?!
The disappointment you felt is why im angry with the reboot cause i know all they had to do was emulate the things in 2 and 3 and it woulda been a great game but all we got was this.
So is it as bad as Mafia III or Crackdown 3? Those games also felt really pointless and dated.
mafia 3 is way better, And that says something hahah
I heard decent things about Mafia III, just that it was poorly paced and very repetitive in the middle bits.
And with Crackdown 3, the main negative I heard was that it had no new ideas in the 12 years since the original.
Saints Row’s probably a bit like Crackdown 3 then - except the controls are legitimately terrible and the writing is bad
Mafia 3 was at least fun for a while, it just got super repetitive and copy-paste laden within that time
the cutscenes and story in mafia 3 is very good tho, gameplay is ok but very repetetive and theres some very weird graphics
Everyone's "what's great about this game"... Customization.
Everyone's "what's terrible about this game"... This game.
I'm not into reboots, I really don't, I heard about game reboots, but they're completely different than the original games.
I’ve noticed the 2 cops were headless lol in once and the train doesn’t hurt me it pushes me lol
The tragedy is that even the more enjoyable sections of this time-vampire are nothing new, or directly ripped from other games of the genre.
Also, hi Remy, good vid

@@RemyRaccoon well then don't play the game if people don't like the game that's there opinion I'm just saying I like the game if people installed the game and didn't like it can be unstalled its a self made game its not going to be the exact same thing as the og saint row its fan made
@@rasheemedwards3359 not sure what your point is. The game can be uninstalled, but you (probably) can’t get your money back, so that doesn’t really solve anything. This video is so people know about the game’s issues and so they can decide for themselves if they want to pick the game or not - simply saying “if you don’t like the game, don’t play it” is reductive and adds nothing to the conversation

Ngl saints row was never good. Saints row 2 had some of the most boring missiion design I've seen ina video game
All four Saints Row games were varying levels of great and this is objective fact because it’s my channel and I said so
If you think that's bad, then you clearly haven't seen Far Cry 5.
I agree all I see this isn’t gangster lol when all the gangs were past cringe

I wish you'd said this game DIDN'T pander to woke millennials earlier. Would have saved me a few minutes.
Gta clone? *_Seriously?_*
That's not inaccurate. The first one was a almost a carbon copy of GTA San Andreas. It didn't really have its own identity as a game till 2, and that's only because GTA was changing to a more realistic tone.
@@fierysmile2929 No, not even Saints Row 1 was a GTA clone. Rockstar doesn't own the open world genre.
IDC what ppl say the new saints row is awesome
and liking it is totally fine of course :3

Tbh I really liked this game it was some good fun
I can't see how people do enjoy it but, fair haha

Wait you have a GTA game as your pfp I shouldn’t expect any greater lmao
If you had any capacity to appreciate quality writing, you would passionately hate this shit and find it completely irredeemable.
Imagine still talking about saints row when everyone already knows how it is that's what's pointless
So I’m not allowed to talk about something just cause others already have? Jeez ok I’ll be sure to run all my video plans through you then
