      How about linking the 9000 to Apple iphone's music?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, I can help! You can either connect the phone directly, or purchase either Apple Airport Express, Google Chromecast Audio, Audiocast M5, Tibo Bond Mini or any Bluetooth receiver for wireless music from your phone to the B&O system (sorry I don't sell these devices, only the cables!)
      This cable will allow you to connect any of the devices listed above to the Aux socket on the back of your B&O system:-
      ‪soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/67-298-minijack-to-aux-in-ipod-to-beosound-beomaster-beocenter-using-aux-din-socket.html#/2-length-1m‬
      Please set the phone volume to maximum when connecting to the B&O system - this is normal when using a portable music player with a home audio system due to the low output levels produced by the phone.
      To listen to the music, simply press "A.Aux" on the B&O keypad, or select this on the B&O remote control by pressing the "LIST" button until the display shows "A.AUX", then pressing "GO".

    The Beosound 9000 is the coolest audio component ever!
    Something I always liked about it is how the other multiple CD playing/changing systems were always incredibly ugly and naff and nobody would have expected something that could play/change multiple CDs would ever look good, then B & O came along with the Beosound 9000.

    Steve, Having just bought one of these back from a friend, to replace a BeoSound/Master 5, I really appreciate what you're talking about. However, having sold dozens of these units when new from our store here in Denver, I would always use the AUX as an output for non-powerlink setups simply because you never need to worry about the volume issue if you're using another preamp. And you're not "using up" the AUX port if you only hookup the Output side, leaving the Input side completely free for other sources. I was at the world premier for the BS9000 in Paris at the US dealer meeting in 1995. It was a very exciting time.

    • @soundsheavenly

    Excellent video, Steve! I have one question, how can we connect B&O 9000 wirelessly to a pair of speakers ? do I need a Bluetooth transmitter or Chromecast device?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! Please note that you cannot cast music wirelessly from a Beosound to speaker using any of these devices, they are for sending music from your phone to the Beosound instead. The only wireless option that actually works to link these speakers to the Beosound is the B&O Transmitter 1/Receiver 1 system which you would need to buy directly from B&O. Cheaper options like Bluetooth won't work here, so I don't support them. Please let me know if you decide to buy the correct wireless system from B&O and I can help with cables.

I haven't tried the connection yet, but I don't know the pin code. I think the purchasing agent doesn't know the pin code, is that ok? And I'm planning to put it in the living room of my new house, but do I need to use a beolab transmitter to cover the wires as much as possible? It was recommended at a Bang & Olufsen store. thank you so much for the video

    This cd beolab 9000 device should absolutely, without the slightest micro doubt, have the latest edition updated to get digital sound out of the coax connector. That way I could either get the sound to a separate dac, or from the coax connector to my active genelec loudspeaker digitally using my aes ebulit cables. That rca connector method is such a super antique connection method that collects all radio frequency interference like a vacuum cleaner that you definitely have to get rid of that connection method already. If this kind of product came to the market in 2023, this product would have it
    can still be preserved far into the future. Because the product concept idea is absolutely wonderful and similar products cannot be found on the market where the artistically wonderful CD cover images would come out and the disc change would be so fast and stylish.
    Unfortunately, the absence of the coax output connector is the biggest bottleneck of the entire equipment, because I would never change digi genelecs to any old passive loudspeakers or bluetooth speakers.
    You could even buy a CD player like that back then. Now it is far too outdated dac circuit and those output connectors.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  Рік тому +1

      All versions of Beosound 9000 have a co-axial digital output fitted to allow the unit to function as a pure CD transport, for connection to your own choice of DAC (or digital speakers) - hence there is no "bottleneck" in the signal chain at all.

    I purchased my BS9000/BL8000 system when working for a B&O franchisee and love it as much now as when new. However, there is an intermittent issue when the clamper moves to another disc, it will not spin and the display shows "PAUSE". This happens not only on burned discs I've made, but also on commercially-released CDs. Would you hopefully have a solution? Thank you and I've just subscribed to your channel. Cheers.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for subscribing! Whilst I’m not a repairer, I suggest the first thing to check is the position of the two adjusters on the back of the unit. As the clamper mechanism wears over time, the ‘official’ settings mentioned in the user manual won’t always be the ones that allow the clamper to run freely. However, if that doesn’t help, you may need to get the unit checked out by an approved B&O repair agent...

    I have a question for B & O experts about the history of the Beosound 9000. I believe it was introduced in 1996, so I guess that it was possible to buy one in London in 1996, I imagine it was in the UK at the same time as it would have been available in Denmark. The reason I ask is that I'm writing a drama at the moment (its a hobby really it is not commissioned) which is set in 1996/97 mostly and one of the characters has a very cool apartment with a Beosound 9000. I wonder what month it was introduced in 1996 actually and was it definitely available in London at that time? I like to be accurate with these things. Thank you.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  2 роки тому +2

      That is a very good question! Although the launch was in 1996, I don’t recall seeing them in people’s homes until a year or so later, so I think there was quite a backlog of deliveries following the release date. A typical sophisticated London socialite would be more likely to have had an existing B&O system such as the AV9000 with Beolab 1 or 8000 speakers during 1996 in my opinion...

    I used to own this Beo9000 when they first launched. The shocking thing about this CD player was the glass panel kept dislodging from the holder. The glass panel fell out and crashed onto the floor. It was replaced a new set but the problem persisted

      Yes, this was a known issue on some 9000 models when they were first launched, B&O upgraded the adhesive on the glass to prevent this from happening. If you get a 9000 serviced at an approved B&O repair centre then they can replace the glass firmly so it won't come off again.

    Hello from down under Steve. Several months ago I was lucky enough to be gifted a 9000 with a pair of beolab 1 and a beolab 2 plus some 6000s for good measure. The beo 4 remote was totally corroded and doesn't work.
    the 9000 is my big problem though. the clamper moves as expected but won't spin a CD. I've now replaced the laser with what I'm told is the correct unit for a MKIII yet the problem remains. It tries, but the cds just won't spin up. I wonder if you are able to help? I'm told that there a couple of post refurb codes that need to be run but without the remote, of course, I can't...

    5:30 You mention that vinyl player (such as Beogram 4002 as in the picture) can be added to the aux port of Beosound 9000.
    Can you clarify that can Beogram 40002 be linked straight to Beosound and will the Beosound that work as the pre-amp for the Beogram? Or should I have a pre-amp in between?
    I might be doing this and have the Beosound linked to Beoplay A9 with the cable you offer.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  10 місяців тому +2

      Later Beogram models with a pre amp built in can connect directly to the 9000. However, as the Beogram 4002 doesn’t have a pre-amp, you will need this pre-amp kit instead, which comes with all cables needed and full instructions, ready to “plug and play”:-

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  10 місяців тому +1

      @@MikaSyrenius Hi, no that is not always correct. You cannot connect a Beogram turntable directly to Beolab speakers as there is no way to control the volume. Connecting via the Beosound makes this connection possible, you need the volume control on the Beosound or you cannot make the connection to the Beogram. Your setup is a special case if you are using the A9 as this has a volume control, but this is not the case for most Beolab speakers.

    • @MikaSyrenius
      @MikaSyrenius 10 місяців тому +1

      @@soundsheavenly Right. Good point! I did not think about this as I am actually connecting the Beosound to A9 and from there to modern multiroom system. I own one of those and have a Sharp TV connected via the ear speaker jack playing over the Beolab 8000 speakers. I have recently bought their Beo Core wireless unit to be able to play music remotely. For this B&O service connected the TV with the Core unit. This resulted in a sound delay of the TV content, which they were able to correct once, but the problem returned the next day. Further problem is that their App remote sucks big time and the old remote for the 9000 does not work with the Core unit. They told me to buy a new BT remote from them 😢. One more thing: I have a record player which I have connected to BT transmitter and would need to connect with the Core unit to play the music on the Beolab 8000 speakers.
