  • Pre sectioning can seem like a lot of effort in the beginning, But you will definitely reap the benefits later.
    It saves a ton of time when you are putting your foils in, not only that it gives you a really clear way of mapping out the head so you can you different technique on different sections of the head, as an added bonus it make you look more professional and stand out from the pack.

    I was taught to section in quarters for foiling and it never made any sense to me!!! That is just too much hair in too few sections and you will end up with lightener WHERE YOU DID NOT WANT IT! At least I did. This sectioning makes absolute sense!
    Thanks for sharing James!!!❤

    Thank you for showing this. I suppose it also depends on what kind of highlights you want to do as well. For instance herringbone, bricklaying etc would require to undo these but great habit to have. I use this all the time even if I undo them for other patterns.

    • @TheLifeOfHair
      @TheLifeOfHair  4 роки тому

      You are very welcome Josee Yes you’re absolutely right in some foiling patterns you will need to undo some of the sections however I find generally you can fit most techniques onto this and you’re right it’s just a great habit to be in. 👍🏻😁

    Great video, sectioning a full head highlights wrecked my head for years ha ha...i agree it really helps to have your sectioning done!can i ask how many foils do you use for a full head? and time wise how long would you allow for a full head highlights?i used to use over 100 foils, but then clients were complaining as it was taking me around 1hr.15-1hr.30 which is too long by the looks of it, so had to reduce foils for a full head to 75, and that takes me an hour total-20 foils top panel, 8 on each side at front, 12 nape area divided in 2 sections, and 3 sections of 9 foils each from occipital bone up at the back .I watched once a lady working in a chinese salon and she did 26 foils for a half head highlights, i decided to find a middle line where clients seem to be happy about timing and result, would love to see a video on how many foils stylists do for full head, half head, t bar highlights, i remember searching that and is not much info online! Thank you for another great video, congrats on over 4k subscribers;-)))))

    • @TheLifeOfHair
      @TheLifeOfHair  4 роки тому +4

      To be honest I’m not entirely sure how Many foils I use, But around the hair lines I keep me foils closer together slightly more spaced out as I get to the crown 👑 but i would say that I use around 70 ish for a full head time wise 70 minutes. 35/40 for a half head 50 to 45 minutes. and around 15 to 20 for a T bar 25 minutes. I will try and work out how to make a video on how many foils stylist use 🧐 and thank I am very pleased with my Chanel growth 🙏🏻

    In those two crown sections..... are you foiling these in a diagonal back fashion? Vertical? Fanning them? Great video! I have to section things off because I just work faster that way. I am a lefty and I also found that I have to start on the right hand side in the back so all my foils aren't in the way when I go to do the left side. LOL

    • @TheLifeOfHair
      @TheLifeOfHair  5 років тому +1

      Hi Mary, so the crown sections are there to take on exactly how you see fit all of the above as you mentioned will work perfectly I am making a video about taking on each section and what result that will give. Keep a look out for that it will be in the next couple of weeks 😁👍🏻

      For starters, the sectioning of hair could've been shown close up to get a better view. And the way you do the sectioning looks messy and done too fast, so an amateur like me find it difficult to understand what's going on. Sorry, no offense.
