When installing the spring i use a stock wheel put it over the center and stand on it to compress it

Just got a 02 660. Seems great. Did some plowing. But have to mess with it to shift into L Take a 2-3 times usually. Like sticks or something. Then a few times made a grinding noise when going into reverse and start rolling. Then it went away. Seems like if there’s a shift sensor that it’s not working good idk. Andy ideas ?

So I did the exact same solenoid mod. Same honda one and everything on my 660. But what do you do with the red wires??

We used to do wet clutch deletes on Arctic Cats back in the day. Any thoughts on benefits or if it’s worth it for the 450?

I’ve got a 05 grizzly 660 I’m getting ready to do some clutch work on. Sitting here wondering how in the world I’m going to change that secondary spring, now I know how😂

Have you checked out the CFmoto Uforce’s they seem to have a bunch of decent reviews. Plus with the moorhead arms you can get 35s on it.

Have you looked into slugs for the wet clutch? It definitely helps. I have a 700 rhino and I did the slugs and then a hunterworks sheave. I’m not sure about a 450 but it definitely helps a lot on the low end. Did it on a 660 grizzly and it was a very powerful and low end grunt. I realize they’re different machines but it might help/work. Would love to see how it works for you on the 450 in Florida.

I did some research on those and they only help you if your clutches are already slipping. If you install slugs and your clutches aren't slipping you're actually putting out less torque because you're engaging the drivetrain at a lower RPM where the engine makes less torque. Slugs are great if you're running a high horsepower engine application but not necessary for a 450 in my opinion

@@MudPuppyOffroad I would seriously consider installing slugs. The old thinking on these wet clutches was to add stiffer wet clutch springs to get rpm up to supposedly propel the machine faster at that higher torque area of the engine power bug fast forward 10-12 years after those kits came out and sonebody discovered slugs in the clutch shoes and how much better it was.
I installed a fee of those epi clutch kits with the stiffer springs and it felt like less power plus engine breaking wouldn’t be as good because the stiffer spring would retract the shoe at a higher rpm than a soft spring would.
The slugs are cheap on amazon it would be interesting to see how they work with stock springs ( in the wet clutch)

I put 28" ITP mudlites on my 02 660 and while I could tell a little loss in low end it but it still moves out pretty good in high and reverse. I did just receive shims for it but watching yours seems almost like yours may be down on power unless yore just spinning in that video?

This thing is geared significantly lower in low range than your 660 unfortunately they're both geared very high in Reverse that's the problem I have

@@MudPuppyOffroad Just realized yours is the 450 that makes sense now. Thought yours was the 660 for some reason

Might wanna throw the cage on before you start it up next time. The cage supports the shaft with the little needle bearing, also saves the knees in case it flies apart haha

I wouldn't write it around without the cage too much but without any load on it AKA and neutral totally not a big deal
