I don't think there is any music that expresses a region in such a wonderful and beautiful way. There are many cultural assets created by Greece, but among them are the beautiful Santorini and the great artist Yanni. My heart aches because no high-end audio system can capture the vividness of the Yanni concert. In Korea, just indirect images convey my thrilling feelings in writing. I am just grateful that I can live and feel the music of great artist in the same era.

My uncle introduced this to me when I was probably 6 or 7 years old and of course, I couldn't remember what this was called... So you can only imagine my face when I found this... Everything about this is nostalgic and takes me back to a time I would spend quality time with my uncle.... Thanks uncle for introducing me to such an icon... RIP ❤

@@chrisyarborough7185I hope you don't mind me responding. I happened to see your comment and it brought back great memories that I really wanted to share. For me it was his song Tribute. That was the first song of his I had heard. I had just gotten to my hotel after a 13hr flight to Auckland. I wasn't sleepy and as there was nothing open at 4:30 a.m. I turned on the NZ version of PBS. They were showing his concert at the Taj Mahal and The Forbidden City. And it wasn't just the music. I listened to him speak and was captivated. I became an instant fan. In fact I didn't wait to get home to buy the cassette. I found directions to a music shop and was there when it opened to buy the first of many Yanni cassettes, CDs, and DVDs. And one of the top items on my bucket list quickly became meeting him (the top item was to visit Russia). I was 22 at the time. I never would have imagined that 20yrs later my mother, who lives in a state 1500 miles from me and who I hadn't seen in 10yrs despite me being diagnosed with two severe life limiting autoimmune diseases, would make my trip to Russia a reality and less than 2 months later I would finally meet Yanni! He is one of the most wise, genuine, and compassionate people I have ever met. That evening he gave me two of the most special gifts one person can give to another....the gifts of personal time despite an incredibly busy schedule, and compassion.

Working with Yanni has to be the best thing ever. Not only you get to play with some of the best musicians in the world, but you also get to travel to these beautiful locations. And yes, as a musician I'm also aware of all the blood sweat and tears you have to put in order to perform at this level, that's also part of why I think it must be the best thing ever.
Yanni's music is totally beyond this world.....and really touches me deep in my Soul!!!! Humanity is so blessed that he worked so hard at his craft so that we can just sit back and enjoy this intensely Creative Music!!!! Nature provides the sounds of the heart & the beat of the drum is the beat of the heart. One of my favorites productions of yours is where you sing like an Indian. In AZ there is museum with ancient instruments from many time periods it is amazing. There might be some that are one of a kind in that museum. The nightingale song was personal for me and the hummingbird song. Some rules are meant to be broken and had a unique experience in 1990 and wish could talk to you in person.

Early in my career when I was traveling extensively I was told I needed to go to Egypt; an I still intent to to; but this was not just Greek music at the time it was produced. I hear Yanni at the Acropolis in the late 90’s and I wash flummoxed while in Europe. It was and still is in 2020s Glorious!!!

I cried. Watching this fills me with so much happines and hope I don't know where it came from. When I'm feeling down and depressed about the uncertain future, I'll listen to Yanni and watch him perform with so much childlike joy. Then the tears came as my heart soars away.
Santorini is a music about victory. I've experience a glimpse of those victory that Yanni wants to convey with his music. A victory, that I held on and live another day, to experience so much this world still have to offer.

Don't know if there's hope that you'll visit Nigeria. You're the reason why it's my life's dream to visit Santorini! This is absolutely the best piece of music i've ever heard. The version at the Acropolis is still my best! Majesty is all i can imagine when i hear this piece. Just amazing
