Long Live The Scene
Why is it that when I see this. Something... Well you know
@@someperson6387 some of the first demo have some reference from 3DMark99? I feel that, not sure why
This is history already. I remember when I played this demo for my friends on my Gravis Ultrasound Max with 100W speakers in the 90's, this was a new generation of music composed and played entirely on a computer.
"a demo that needs TWO disks ???"
Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long, long time.
Paying homage to an old chiptune titan like Purple Motion is what the fuck I like to see ❤️
Would kill to hear your iconic sound in a Satellite One remake!
Purple motion composed the music for my childhood game, wonderland, and later also did Cities Skylines. I never thought I'd see a connection to that game and MBR but here we are. What a lovely world.
I had an Amiga 500 and this reminds me so much of those demo floppies that were circulating where skilled people would show off what they could do with the hardware, both visually and musically.
yes. It's a cover of a demo by future crew released in 1993.
@@MasterBootRecord Ah second reality, the stuff of legends. Watched that so many times on my 386DX.
Ah the nostalgia! I remember the part around the 7 minute mark struggling on my 486 sx but ran so smooth on a DX. Amazing what these coders did at the time!
I know right! I remember as a kid just looking at demos on my 486 for hours on end just in awe at what they could make.
For anyone interested, here is the original from Future Crew:

the bowling alley screen when you get a Strike
It was my first PC i bought with my own money. Paperroute, dishwasher in a janky restaurant, had to bike 12 km's to and from it too. It was all worth it.The perfect demoscene rig. I did everything on it. Gaming, tinkering with trackers, programming, diskswapping, musicdisks. the works.
I still remember the first time I saw this demo. Scroller at 3:16 still gives me goosebumps, and by the time the raytraced sword on the sphere and the voxel clouds came by, my jaw was on the floor. PC's were finally catching up to the Amiga.
And now I own a tiny stack of boards that can simulate both of these systems with ease.
Thanks man, these are some great memories. Your rendition is faithful, with just the right amount of MBR injected into it, and I respect that!
We meet again.
@@TrueNeutralEvGenius I don't know you.
@@devjock You do, you just don't know about it. You were even and is subscribed to my other channel/s. It's a different channel. Nevermind tho, I prefer to remain unknown. Take care and good luck.
@@TrueNeutralEvGenius Look, whoever you are, if you necropost with "We meet again", you shouldn't be suprised I'm reacting the way I do. Your channel is completely empty, and your introductory post isn't really going in any particular direction. Thus, I react defensively with the standard stranger danger post.
That said; I've got an idea who you might be. Yes, I've had a very hard break with the entire synthwave scene (a few people excluded). You indicate that you know me, so you know exactly why that is. You probably browse my twitter feed, so you're fully aware of my stance on all things and all non-things.
You say you prefer to stay unknown, and I respect your preference to remain anonynous. Few questions though; Why engage with me at all? What is it you want to get out of this convo? Why through the UA-cam comment system?
@@devjock I'm not surprised, but that's a strange reaction. And assumptions and reflections.
I don't need or want anything from you, just stated the fact that we met again, when saw you again in the comment section. We meet quite often on different Demoscene, Chiptune and other music videos, etc.. That's it.
Take care.
Gosh you are so inspiring. Remeber watching this on my brother's PC at the time. Had his C64 / 386 back then and learned programming BASIC on the former (today working in IT myself). These were so cool times, remember we had our IPX network and played C&C 1 / Quake till late at night :) He was also doing a Battle Isle 2 clone in Pascal at the time. Really miss these days...
I just cannot stop listening to this. Seriously on repeat for hours on end.
This is possibly the most epic music to code to, for so many reasons. I only regret that I must look away from this fantastic demo to write the next line.
Wow, these computer graphics are a marvelous show of the future of computer generated scenery! I can feel such life coming out of them!
Superb, excellent. I got this demo sometime in 1994 as part of a distribution CD that I would publish on my BBS. Don't know if anyone here knows what a 'door' was on a BBS :)
My BBS hosted mostly Demo files. :)
Was this at all inspired by Ahoy's recent video on the old demo scene?
I'm always a little bummed when modern games I "legitimately purchase" don't come with a song.
With the OG graphics, too. Masterful.
I AM NOT AN ATOMIC PLAYBOY! fantastic music as always, MBR, and cool visuals to go with it!
I knew I wasn't the only one waiting for it... ⚛
All merit to Future Crew. One of my favourite demos. I actually started MBR the minute after watching/listening again after years to this demo in august 2016.
Amazing nostalgia! Too bad end credits weren't included, that part of the music is best imho.
The real mother of all demos! Massive remake!
This music video took me to another dimension.
Fastest like on the planet :D Yasssssss! Wasn't present at Assembly 93, but from 95 on, was a once a year home for a long time. Some epic shit got released there.
I just recently rediscovered this after remembering the original from the 90s. Now we have a MBR rendition. Bravo!

Long live the demoscene
HNNGGGGG. The nostalgia is KILLING ME
Please release FLAC versions of all your remixes, I can definetly hear the difference between MP3 and FLACS ! =D Concerning this remix a job well done ! ;) =D
Why tf did this not come up in my recommendation?! This is a fantastic cover of a fantastic track!
OMG...the memories
The opening strings are instant goosebumps. The nostalgia I feel is really indescribable; if you weren't in the scene at the time you really can't understand the feeling of awe this demo gave you, knowing the fact that it was literally the most cutting edge thing in computers at that point. Similar music and visuals synchronization wasn't available for another 4-5 years. This makes me feel that feeling of awe and wonder at what can be done with art and technology. Thank you for this!
Edit : goosebumps the whole damn time. Fucking epic!
It was awesome seeing this being made live. A fucking banger this is
Some of those visuals looks so familiar ... Awesome music ! as always !
It's a remix of PC Demo by Future Crew released in 1993 with music by Purple Motion & Skaven.
@@MasterBootRecord I think i saw this on CD, with alot of others Demoscene works in early 2000`s
Это очень превосходная работа, сам был на стриме создания этого превосходства!
Amazing.
GET DOWN
I can hear a 5.25 inch floppy drive clacking somewhere in the distance. Beautiful work, man
PC demo of new era graphics with music of a Galactic Convergence.
I love 90's.
That's mindblowing.
Великолепно, впрочем как обычно
Продолжай в том же духе!
Whenever I watch this demo, I get goosebumps! This must be in my top 5 of demoscene prods. Such nostalgia! With the MBR treatmetn it gets another layer of awesome.
Long Live The Scene! 777
How does this not have more views and more upvotes. Please do more covers/remixes like this one.
There's one big problem: I don't know many compositions that are as perfect as music from Second Reality. In this genre, this is - at least in my opinion - one of the greatest soundtracks. I mean, like one of the greatest in all demos.
Man, the memberberries taste sweet today.
I wasn’t sure how you were going to handle the Skaven part at the end, but then it kicked in… wow. Justice served.
Very nice remix of an amazing demo. Purple Motion and Skaven made an amazing soundtrack for one of most memorable demos of all time.
Wow, the original already was a monument of epicness, and you just managed to make it even more epic. That is genuine epicness overload.
Great cover, nostalgic video
What a masterpiece! There may have been technically better demos at the time, but Second Reality was one of a kind, a triumph of audio and visual design.
This is great!!! It would be awesome if you could do the long version too (with the credits). I love the music in that part. 💾🥷🏻😎
This feels like it's supposed to be a 1995 video graphics demonstration.
yes. It's a cover of a demo by future crew released in 1993.
Why didn't I recognise this at the time of the actual release? This is my favorite demo of all time and the cover / remix is so awesome! I love it more than I should.
Every new release gets more and more impressive.
Please make more Demo remix/cover !
I don't get why it has only 13k view yet, this was absolutely amazing !!
Cheers and love from France
Gonna be listening to this a lot in the future on bad days, thanks for your effort, wanted to leave a comment so more folks see this.
I KEEP FINDING SECOND REALITY CONTENT LETS GOOOOO
incredible cover!
This is so amazing and incredible. You've done a fantastic job. Thank you thank you! My brother showed me this on his 486 many moons ago and nothing will ever top it as far as nostalgia.
I remember this track from some random UT map. Some big room with gigantic PC in the middle. Can't find it anymore, sadly...
Nostalgia!
Right in the nostalgia
This is beautiful! The original is sick.... this is sicker! 🤘🏻
That demo was jaw-dropping when it was released. Purple Motion and Skaven were among the top-dogs back then
*downloading mp3*
I simply Love it, mate. Greets from Slator
One of my favorite bands covering one of my favorite tracker tunes. Awesome as always MBR.
Good god this one was a good one. Love your music, MBR
Awesome new track, along with old school demo visuals? This just made my entire month!
its a cover of an old school demo! second reality is one of those really cool demos
@@gabrielamador4006 yeah, read the description after posting. sure explains why the track matched the visuals so well ^^
What is an absolute banger..
The cover with new syntwave twist and modern production techs for some of the most legendary track ever. This works at the techno raves also.
Awesome music, as always. I'd love to hear you do a cover of Purple Motion's "World of Plastic", Skaven's "Ice Frontier", and/or Marvel's "Why can't you remember me..".
Never expected this to exist, amazing remix
Fantastic work!
Tip for Old school game geeks:
Retro games can be better, just ask the great MBR!
Could tell right from the start that I will like this a lot
ORLY?!
This is the reason I wish I could see you perform live. Great!
Fantastic!
excellent work. I remember the original.
3:44 "Liquidator Brunt, FCA!"
You finished the cover, awesome! Great end result!
Awesome!! Really love it so much, your music is always so mesmerizing and the graphics accompany it well! Great cover and awesome work in general! Thanks for this
This hit so hard.

This is awesome! By far my favorite demo of all time.
Great stuff as always!
Amazing, fantastic work
At last I will see you guys in the Resurrection Fest festival!!! nostalgia going back 30 years!. THANK YOU!
You guys bust out a copy of Sonique for these visuals?!
Wow! Amazing cover! I loved this demo, it was the demo that made me love the demoscene. I love the music, and you guys did an amazing job!
I discovered your musics and covers by this video, amazing stuff you have done!
I have no idea of what Second Reality is, even after playing virtuaverse and having decoded the Technomancers message. But I believe it is related .. Right ? xD
It's a PC demo by Future Crew
ua-cam.com/video/iw17c70uJes/v-deo.html
It's a LEGEND pc demo from the 80's... The Demoscene was the "Place To Be" at that time...
Skaven!?!?!?!! There's a name I haven't heard in a looooonnnngggg time!! He did some tracks for UT back in the day, didn't he? Searching for him only lead to Warhammer and some punk or metal band....
Awesome! Thinking about it, this is probably the first PC demo I've ever watched. I was still using an Amiga up until 1998 😁
Great music and very cool visuals! Nicely done!
the amazing teamup I never knew I needed
So good
