Revealing my Illustration Process step by step

- In this video I take a rough sketch to a final illustration (in real time) using Adobe Fresco on my iPad. After I filmed this I realized it was a lot longer than I anticipated-so it's been broken up into 2 parts, this is part one.

Real time is great, not boring at all. Easier to follow along or listen to as well if we're working on our own projects. Commentary is great, so makes any slower bits still enjoyable.
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback!
I love the real time, I actually like to put on videos like this and half watch/half listen while I practice drawing myself.
Oh cool, that’s great to know. I often play videos while working myself.
also it is extremely helpful to learn seeing it in real time for sure
Thanks for the feedback!! That’s really helpful to know. I just worry about my videos getting too long.
Chris, thank you for sharing your process! This is perfect; please keep videos in real time! 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
Thanks Zach!!
Agree that real time works well for this kind of tutorial. And if people want a faster playback, they can tweak their player settings themselves. 👍
Thanks! And good call on the player speed controls.
I think the real time format is good. I get a sense of how things actually work. You could also maybe speed up things that might be repetitive or people can speed up the videos themselves if they prefer to.
Thanks Brian, that’s a good suggestion.
Thank you for doing this tutorial in normal real time. It is so much easier to follow for me. I admire your skills!
Glad it was helpful!
Love the real time and catching some real conversation while you're drawing. Glad you kept that in. I would have my daughter asking for something or that she's bored or hungry.
Thanks! I film when my kid is at daycare, otherwise he definitely would not let this happen, ha! My cat usually has a problem with the door shut.
I really like the real time vids because of things like when you make a layer a reference layer and how you used a white pen to then create a selection to delete. I would never know how to do those steps otherwise if it sped through. Thanks!
Thanks for letting me know! That’s great info.
Real time is good. I’ve learned why you’re doing things, rather than just how. Thanks Chris 🧙🏽♀️
Ah cool, that's great to hear, thanks!
appreciate the whole process, especially the inking so no need to speed up..thank you Chris
Thanks John!
Eh up Chris, my penny's worth of opinion: a mix of both, please. I can draw and watch, practicing my own skills, without missing anything. Or having to interrupt my flow to find another soothing video! I am thoroughly enjoying all your videos; the tea spots splattered on my monitor attest to that 😂
Haha thanks so much Jane!
Real time is not boring. Make more of it :)
Thank you! That’s helpful to hear! It’s also easier to edit, ha!
Your colorful background lights are dopeeeeee
Thanks so much!!
They’re a mix of Phillips Hue bulbs and a light strip.
Hi, do you have screen protector on in this video? Do you get that jiggly line when you have a screen protector on?
Yes, I always use one. Jiggle-factor depends on my coffee intake, lol.
i wish that line art brush is built in to Adobe fresco that's some nice texture brush, I like it just the $200 is way too expensive for me I'm just doing this as a hobby
Where are you seeing $200? The Liner brush pack is $19. That said there’s plenty of similar brushes by Kyle Webster that are free with Fresco.
@@chris-piascik the complete pack the one with blue background
Ahh that’s all the brushes they sell in one package. I don’t even have all of them! In this video I’m using the Riso brushes for this texture. Sorry I mentioned the liner brush set earlier, I thought you were talking about the one I did the linework with.
@@chris-piascik honestly I'm also confused sorry, the package name of the brushes are kinda the same I'm new to digital art
No worries! These are the texture brushes I use to color in this video: www.retrosupply.co/collections/brushes/products/risograph-brush-kit-for-photoshop?rfsn=6814948.e3561c
hey, thank you for all videos. I have some questions.
Is there any alternative brushes free like your retro supply classic inker and others. I know they are special brushes so they sell it but unfortunately I can't afford right now. ( Yes 20$ expensive in my currency :( )
can we make brushes like that. Can you make a tutorial about this?
Also when you make this type of videos could you share sketch pic. so we can use as a reference while drawing. ( if you share this already I couldn't find it, sorry)
Thank you for all infos and details. You are the best
If you have the premium version of Fresco you have access to all of Kyle Webster's brushes. He has a ton of great textures. The dry media set would be good. If you're using the free version I am sure there are options, but I don't what brushes are included unfortunately.
@@chris-piascik Thank you for answer. I'll try The dry media set. Also real time videos absolutely work. Seeing your process and details definitely educational. But please don't leave Fresday. :🖍🖍✌✌
Thanks for the feedback!
Digs❤
😎
Hi! Im using adobe fresco and I wanna buy the brush but I can’t see anything for adobe fresco. Is it same with illustrator?
you can use photoshop brush files in adobe fresco!
Fresco using Photoshop brushes.
I don’t mind realtime. But maybe consider doing realtime in a livestream and time lapse in edited vids.
Yeah that’s a good idea. Thanks!
