For some reason todays video reminds me of my first sailing experience. It was about 1982, I was in Paris in some park, and a man was renting little toy sail boats for the children to play with in the fountains there. After failing to become a sailor after my best efforts last year, all I have left is shattered dreams. I am filled with the sin of envy, I wish I was able to do what you do.

I miss these videos so much.. you were this rather poor vagabond guy, on a tiny boat with no engine, fridge, head... a kayak as a dinghy, sailing the ocean, anchoring next to multimillion dollar cats and having fun.. this is what got me hooked on your channel. I really hope you go back some day after years of racing and recreate these experiences AND share them with us. and most important: I hope you still can enjoy the simple life after your experiences on million dollar racing yachts :)

Like another viewer eluded to, I also enjoy these simple times and videos like these more than the big racing boat videos, but I realize that you had the need to evolve, and your evolution is impressive and a great example of how a person can go from
"here to there", so to speak, and achieve amazing things if you have a plan and are willing to put in the work. Great Job Hugo!

What's the autopilot setup on your boat btw? Interesting to see you just using a ram on the tiller, keeping the brains etc safe and dry below deck. Big problem with the proprietary tiller pilots is getting fried by being open to the elements.

EV-100 tiller pilot from Raymarine. Expensive, but well worth it. Much quicker and more responsive than the all-in-one units and, as you said, no exposed brains :D

yeah, as HS sailed, EV-100 is a great option, cheaper and more practical to install than a below deck unit, but also more efficient than a ST 2000 or similar
