Don't be a dork or nerd and just have one pair. 3+ pairs are great, plus shoes need to breath, especially if you play morning and evening and do the driving range and practice greens! Informative video!
Big fan of my Adidas Codechaos. Super comfortable and waterproof enough for the PNW. Very stable and super noticeable over specific non-golf shoe like my 4D's.
The Biom C4 is incredible. I've been wearing Ecco dress shoes for nearly 30 years. They've always been extremely comfortable and their golf shoes are no different. Just an awesome brand. Thankfully their styling has improved. Some of my early Ecco golf shoes were a bit on the ugly side.
I love my Adidas Tour360 '22 shoes as a spiked winter shoe, but I'm looking to get some spikeless shoes for the drier months and the C4 are top of my list. Everyone seems to rave about them and they look really nice imo.
i have 8 pairs of golf shoes and just ordered 3 new pairs with maybe one more to add...lol.....Ya I know i have an addiction....can't help it...great review ...cheers from Canada
If you live in a place with fall and winter, I would completely agree on the wool socks. However, I live in Florida. Here in the land of heat and humidity, moisture wicking is of much greater need. I totally endorse the need for quality socks!
Merino for cold weather, yes… but I play a lot in really hot temps and I bought a bunch of socks from Feetures… some from Brooks… some from Balega and even a couple of the Footjoy golf socks. I will say, they are worth the money. Played a Ryder Cup style tourney in FL a month ago and they were amazing. Also I added FP Insoles into my golf shoes… so much better for walking and taking away the pain afterwards.
Really happy with my Adidas Stan Smith spikeless and Puma Ignite Elevates. One pair white, one pair black. Im covered for what I need and walk courses regularly
I have Biom 3, G5 and H4 and like them all. Need a white pair…with a few more rounds on the G5, would you go them or the C4? Getting BOA, so pricing is the same!
@@LocationRebel the H4s are more comfortable so having another pair for walking rounds seems best! Really wish Ecco has other colors as white soles are hard to keep clean
Sean, happy to see you are as happy with the C4's as I am! I could sleep in those shoes. They are so easy to put on, the way they collapse around your feet almost make the laces unnecessary. You need to do one of these videos for our wet winters. I've been thinking about wearing shoes like the Salomon Patrol for our wet and soggy rounds out at PRGC. I'm loving the videos. See you out at the course. 🙂
Great reviews! I happen to own a few or more pairs of Ecco’s…love them! However, my current favorite for fall golf when it’s a little cooler are my Air Jordan 12 Masters edition…comfy stable and just all around awesome!
I have ten pairs of ecco's and I recently purchased the C4's, I don't wear anything else since, I am actually going to buy another pair so I can rotate them as I play four times a week. I tell everyone its like having pillows on my feet, hands down the best golf shoe ever made. PS. I used to wear all the Adidas Boost range which are good but nothing like the C4, plus Ecco last way longer then other golf shoes.
I have Payntr 002 and love them. Comfort for walking is my #1 priority. I want another pair and I can’t decide between another Payntr or Ecco C4? Comments?
I haven't tried the other Payntrs other than the 003 - which is excellent. But being honest, the C4 is the best golf shoe I've ever owned. Comfort, stability, build quality - it's got it all. Expensive, but worth it in my opinion.
Are the ecco bioms good on a hot summer day? The nike roshe or true links sounded the most breathable from your list. What would you reccomend for those toasty days? Anything waterproof seems like a no go.
I purchased the payntr 002 and they are by far the best shoe I have ever bought. Better traction than any spiked shoe I have had, completely waterproof and very comfortable
It’s the Ecco sizing system is what’s puzzling, I’m actually a 9 3/4 so the 9-91/2 is too small and the 10-101/2 might be too big, nothing worse than a wrong fitting shoe. I know you can take out the footbed but that would take some comfort out.
Give Sketchers ArchFit Go Golf Elite Vortex a try. I have Plantar Fasciitis and these shoes give me tremendous arch support and comfort. They blow away any Adidas and Foot Joy golf shoe I’ve ever worn. Podiatrist Certified. Make sure to get the Vortex model as it’s waterproof.
I don't think in you have tested Athalonz. We have 17 US utility patents and they are worn by champions. we’ve emphasized performance in the design of our shoes, but it has to be balanced with comfort and weight. In all of the athletic shoes we’ve analyzed, they have a U-shaped forefoot cross-section. Some shoes have a more pronounced U-shape than others, but they all have them. A U-shaped forefoot section adversely affects the vertical force or ground reaction force by directing it away from the body, which means less ground reaction force is going toward the body. Athalonz shoes have a sloped forefoot cross-section that directs the ground reaction force towards the body.
Great video, very helpful. I am looking at the Ecco G5 for my winter pair (UK weather!) and wondering if you found the sizing true to fit you or smaller/larger needed? Thanks
I love Ecco golf shoes for their comfort and waterproofing. However, their sizing is totally off on the newer models. They need to recalibrate sizing and have better quality control.
Kind of crazy to do a top golf shoe review and not include adidas. I feel like the best known secret in golf is that adidas makes the best golf shoes, period. I caddied for about 15 years when I was younger and at every single place the veteran caddies (who walk miles and miles a year) said adidas all the way. Every time I have gotten something other than tour360s (for sales deals, etc), I wish I saved my money.
So true. The Boost in golf shoes is the most comfortable golf shoe there is and you don’t have the weird fit and sizes like Ecco. Completely makes this comparison rubbish without having Adidas Tour 360 or even the code chaos
@@leftlifegolfsaga9105 not bad shoes but honestly I find FJ to be highly overrated. I did finally find some this last year that were decent. I’d still take any Adidas with Boost over any FJ shoe and that’s regardless of miles walked. Comfort is comfort
Had Squirz for about 6 months and the soul on the front became unglude. Not sure if it was because I was playing a lot or in the heat but they didn't last too long. They weren't too bad up until then and I like the square design to line up easier but seemed poorly put together
Went ahead and bought the X 004 RS. Looks sharp and if it holds up to your review should be a great shoe! I have a cheaper pair of Callaway's that need to go. Haven't had Spikes in a long time and hoping they will help out with good contact as i progress in my Golf Journey to break 75!
The only gripe with the Biom C4 is that if your toe points into the ground after rotation, you wear that toe out super fast. I went to the range 3 times with a brand new pair and the right toe is already coming away from the sole. Which is a mad shame because it absolutely is the best spikeless golf shoe for all the reasons stated.
Didn't see any Adidas or Spieth Under Armor. The UAs are the most stable shoes I have ever worn and are not nearly as heavy as the Squarz. Adidas are extremely stable as well and are lighter. The new 360s are incredible but a little out of my price bracket.
Finally. Someone with more golf shoes then me. Lol. I have all brands, Ecco,FJ, adidas. My favorite right now is the 2020 adidas code chaos. Most comfortable too.
haha nah you're fine in the parking lot. But probably wouldnt make a habit of wearing them out to dinner or something :) That said, lots of "All Day" golf shoes are popping up that you can wear both on the course and off, so could be worth looking into if that fits your lifestyle.
REALLY Good golf shoes should be so comfortable , that you don't even feel anything but stable and comfortable and you don't have to think about them..at all when you are playing.. I buy a half , or even one size up , in wide fit..your feet definitely swell up during a round and even the the slightest tightness will become a pain.. Favs are Foot Joy Tour Alpha , and the Ecco bioms, Goretex.. just my 10 cents...
After 15 years I need to replace my ECCO shoes. I remember putting them on for the first time and it was like walking on a cloud. Tough decision finding the perfect replacement.
I don’t know anyone in my 55 years of playing golf that wear any of those brands. The Sqairz were the only ones I’ve heard of and that only because Sir Nick hawks them!
Ok I get that some of these are newer or less known brands, but if you don't know anyone who wears Nike or Footjoy, then you must be playing a different sport! haha
The amount of force I put into the ground on my swing doesn't allow me to go spikeless, but I also like leather shoes for durability. Hopefully good looking spiked shoes make a comeback for all brands because I don't wanna pay $200 for FJs
Spiked leather shoes are going to forever be a premium product. Sure, they used to be 120 but adjusted for inflation today's 200 is probably cheaper lol

100% agree on the Ecco Biom G5's! Expensive yes but about as close to perfect as a golf shoe has ever been IMO.
I agree, the C4 is the most comfortable golf shoe I’ve owned! 100% worth the high price!
Thanks for the reviews. Do you happen to have any feedback or recommendations for golf shoes if you have bunions, and or plantar factitious?

I just bought the all black Ecco biom C4 shoes with the Boa laces. I needed a waterproof shoe that's breathable. Hopefully, they're not a letdown.

The best one is the Travis Scott golf shoes
I have the FootJoy Flex in red. It's a nice lightweight shoe good for a dry course.

Puma Pro Adapt Alphacat has been an absolute stellar choice for me. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for some new shoes.
Curious what your thoughts were on the weight of the Sqairz. I found them to be so heavy it made the rounds I played in them not very enjoyable.
