Girl, you are the truth and a gift to candle makers❤Thank you so much. I found a great candle supplier near me.

I am 100% in favor of buying 1,000 wicks in order to bring down the cost per unit. However, if I am a new candle maker, I don't even know if I will manage to sell 50 candles in the whole calendar year. So buying 1,000 wicks might sound like a rational choice if you are already in the market and you will be sure that you will sell 1,000 candles in the forseeable future. Or else you will end up with 800-900 wicks, as a reminder that you should have been more restrained. Maybe I am wrong. I would love to hear your opinion on that.

This is an excellent point that I should have talked about!
I always like people to be aware of what their lowest COG has the potential of being if they were to purchase all items in bulk. However, if you are not able to right now that’s okay! But knowing what your lowest COG could potentially be once you start gaining traction in your business is important for the future :) I hope that makes sense!

@@MemoryBoxCandleCo Indeed, when you are already in the market and you have customers searching for your products, then sky is the limit and you proceed accordingly!

In the beer trade you sometimes see a group of independent pubs banding together to form a "buying group". It would take some organising, and a lot of trust but it could work.

I've done this before just think of it as having extra inventory nothing will ever go to waste use those extra supplies for photo props or even farmers markets or something nothing will ever go to waste even if you might change those wicks later give them away to family burn them in some candles you make for emergency storms and give some to your neighbors too a little goes a long way make yourself a care package or even save them for emergency yourself. also be optimistic and have faith as long as your business is filled with your love and care for it and you show up everyday disciplined you will never fail! I wish you the best of luck and hope your business is prospering!!

I would add that most shipping costs are per order. If you can find a vendor that sells more of the items you need, you can hopefully combine it to get over the free delivery threshold etc.
For UK candle makers shipping is usually a flat rate (unless you live in the Highlands, or Channel Islands for example), so finding a local vendor is less of an issue. But you could consider whether products made locally is a selling point, and what that really means.

I'm assuming you live in UK? Could you suggest some companies that offer good fragrance oils? :(

I live in Alabama and to ship from the flaming candle is so expensive for me so I just drive and pick it up since it’s about an hour and a half from me I find that to be the smartest option for me

I purchased my jars from Alibaba so my biggest advice for keeping that COG low is negotiation.

Hi! First can I just say you have been my life source when it comes to my new candle making business! You are so amazing for making these videos. Thank you!! I have a question regarding where to purchase the soy 10 wax and if it possibly comes in another name? Shipping from California Candle Supply is astronomical for where I live. Do you know if any other suppliers sell soy 10 or if they may sell it under another name? Is there anything comparable on from like Flaming Candle possibly? Thank you!!

This is currently what I am trying to do , I do the bulk wicks / wax / jars , however fragrance oils😅 I’m a little out of control…..still 🤣 and I do loveeee the flaming candle as well but the shipping is insane for me in Connecticut which is rough , I use a lot of their fragrance oils , but I had to cut back just for a little while, shipping was costing me as much as if not more than a lot of my other items , hopefully shipping goes down soon. Again thank you for another great video❣️

Is there a difference in the wax if you get from different suppliers or soy wax the same no matter where you get it. And does it have to be soy wax

Midwest Fragrance Co is in Wisconsin!! They’re starting to sell wax and clamshells, I’m sure they’ll eventually start selling vessels! They ship fast and great quality as well!
