Thank you for sharing your work with us. I particularly find it useful that you've shown us how you coated your pots in addition to naming the glazes. What a wonderful pot - the decoration makes it look like a set prop from Ben Hur or Spartacus... 😉
Thanks for the comment. I’m glad it’s helpful. When I first started I needed something like this and had a hard time finding so I decided to do it myself as I learned. Enjoy!
I tried this and my seaweed over obsidian was a little darker blue. But I should've went heavier on the seaweed. I'll try it again. It looked nice but I wanted it lighter. The Ancient Copper worked amazingly. Thanks for the combo tip.
It could have something to do with the clay also. I use porcelain on the ancient copper and obsidian seaweed combo. Darker clays can cause darker results. I use 5 or more coats of seaweed when it’s high on the pot.
Wow. Gorgeous pot. I’m trying to figure out what glazes to get from companies other than amaco and mayco. I only have those two companies glazes and my pots end up looking like everyone else’s. Do you have a list of other glazes that work well with amaco and or mayco? I saw that Spectrum are much less expensive than amaco, which are getting ridiculously pricy!! Thanks.
I use several Coyote glazes and really like them. Shinos are nice. Red and oranges are bright. Pam’s blue and green have great effects. This pot had Coyote’s eggshell as a base. I buy it in 5 lb bags dry and mix with water. Research them and see what you think.
Beautiful thank you! 🤩
