For those who are wondering how to continue your Eaglemoss DeLorean sub after they went bankrupt, apparently a new Company, IXO Models, has acquired the Eaglemoss parts inventory and will be offering it for sale soon. The info comes from @Eaglemodz in this video: ua-cam.com/video/aIiC4eQs7us/v-deo.html
One other thing about the eaglemoss version is that it’s detailed in the sense involving the design of the dmc 12. There’s a radiator with turning fan blades, an actual suspension, shocks struts, also the engine that has cooling pipes connected to the radiator, and the chassis is molded after the real life car. The first year or so of the assembly involves the under chassis, but it’s even got a spare tire in the trunk. And it can even be modified with carpet. The 1:6 does look nice but the eaglemoss as far as detail and design go , I think is better.
Eaglemoss is the best. For the Hot Toys version, it's still good but there are some hit or miss there, like there's not enough wiring in the interior and the wiring is a little bit darker...
Agreed when you consider there's a miniature PRV engine under that engine cover! Not to mention all the other automotive parts like the suspension, transmission, etc
Interestingly when I had my fascias repainted by a shop, the paint code information from Houston turned out to color them with a little grey, bronze hew to them. Maybe I’m wrong if that was their intended color, I don’t know.
Yeah mine was that way too. They look off on the actual car. The paint on the fascia looks more accurate to me on the hot toys. I do wish it was metal instead of plastic though. I will also say from a delorean stand point the coloring of the carpet and leather in particular as well as the way the seats are upholstered on the hot toys is significantly better.
the biggest difference for me is the Giugiaro design. Eaglemoss clearly went to painstaking lengths to preserve the integrity of the design angles. you can tell from the video that Hot Toys really skipped over this. to me, that's the most beautiful part of a delorean - the angles!
Yeah the stainless look may be a bit better on the Hot toys model...but i just don't like the idea paying that much money for a piece of cheap plastic. So for me it would be the eaglemoss.
Thanks. After looking into it apparently it might cost closer to $3000 in some cases. I still like it and I have 2 Eaglemoss DeLoreans. Going to do a video on the iDisplayit case for Eaglemoss soon. I just got one for each.
@@jondeak Ah ok. Thanks. I was going to purchase it from SideShow but with shipping and taxes, it comes up to well over $1,000 for me which is a bummer. I'm trying to find another shop that offers lower shipping charges.
late comment, awesome display. but i prefer the 1/6 scale Hot toys version.... I would like that i have the later option of adding a 1/6 scale Figure Marty/ Doc to the display and the figurs can both sit in the Car (if one is a figure collector for the complete look ) i do like the fine detailing and the Tires on the Eaglemoss better though every collector has their preferences, and some may just want to collect the car on its own with many versions of the DeLorean car from HT to Eaglemoss, to Jada to Hot wheels to micro Machines even
I'm in the middle of the Eaglemoss build but the actual company "Eaglemoss" went bankrupt so I can't finish the build. I'm waiting to see if the company that bought out Eaglemoss will help everyone that's trying to finish their builds. Very sad... I'm into electronics and have been making upgrades to it as I was building but it might be all for nothing. 😔
@@conorclarke5545 yeah for sure definitely count yourself lucky!! It's depressing to see the box I have it all in and not knowing if it will ever be finished. The worst part is, they didn't even bother to send anything out stating I wouldn't get anymore parts. I only found out not receiving parts and their calling their phone number came up as disconnected and email came back as undeliverable. My heart sunk fast when jumped on Google and found out the bad news. 😔
@@Maverick7r god that's terrible. Now it makes sense why people are trying to sell all of their stuff related to it on eBay just trying to jump ship. That's awful what's happened. hopefully whoever's brought them will pick up where they left off
@@conorclarke5545 I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the company that bought them out will help everyone to finish their models for sure. And I seen that on eBay too... I hope nobody gets fooled by it. I calculated the cost just for the parts to finish mine and it would be over $3,000 so that ain't going to happen, lol!!
I was looking for this comparison and ended up checking out your other videos. Cool stuff. Love the Delorean. As far as these two models, the Hot Toys has a better overall look with the correct stainless color and slight weathering application but Eaglemoss wins with materials and minute details. I was contemplating starting an Eaglemoss subscription last year and I'm glad I didn't though now with Fanhome taking over, maybe it's worth checking into again. Do you plan on buying the upcoming BTTFII Hot Toys and doing a similar comparison? If it improves upon the first one, I may just get that instead of investing into the Eaglemoss.
Thanks for watching! Yes I already purchased the Hot Toys Mark 2 DeLorean and am just waiting for Sideshow to ship it. Apparently some folks already got theirs but yes I'll be doing a side-by-side of the Mark 1 and 2 with the Eaglemoss thrown in for good measure. I am also doing a video on the iDisplayIt case for the Eaglemoss. Stay tuned!
I’ve been looking for people that have the Eagle Moss and also a mark one I or two ht to compare. I just got a mark two and I’m not overly pleased with it, primarily because it’s my first sixth scale vehicle and to be honest bigger isn’t always better lol. I think it’s a bit too cumbersome and I don’t really have a suitable place to display it. For the price I feel it’s a little fragile and wish it had metal components. I’ve seen the different modifications for the eagle moss, including more accurate lighting, and it being a little easier to display I was definitely intrigued. Your video does bring up a good point though about the finish. I didn’t really notice that it had a bronze tinge to it until you compared it directly to the hot toys version. In all of the other videos and images I’ve seen, the finish of the EM one is definitely more stainless steel like. I wonder if yours started to yellow or you had a bad batch. I would almost be inclined to airbrush yours with a metal paint color to make it look more accurate. I feel like building one might connect you more with the model, whereas some people will just buy this and display it and kind of forget about it whereas with the eagle moss one you’re continuously engaged with it for a long period of time, being more invested. Anyway, which one do you prefer?
Having owned both I actually prefer the Hot Toys. Yes it's not perfect and I am actually planning to retun my Mark 2 for a replacement due to several issues, but... the Eaglemoss has issues of it's own. Yes it's easier to display in some regards, but it is definitely more fragile than the Hot Toys because of several things: it's VERY heavy, making it hard to move around, the parts are so intricate that the can break easily because of the weight of the entire model and also the awkwardness of it. You have to be extremely careful with the Eaglemoss vs the Hot Toys. The part about the EM that I enjoyed the most was building it because it's so accurate. I actually bought TWO Eaglemoss models because of the fun factor in building it plus the different display options like the Part 3 variations. It was like building an actual DeLorean! I have a new Eaglemoss video coming soon on a new display case option.
You can order the Hot Toys from Sideshow.com for about $900 shipped (Mark 2). Eaglemoss will cost over $2300 and you’ll need to build it over a couple years.
I would say get the BTTF Hot Toys Mark 2 which is the much less expensive option. Displayability is very high. Just watch our video on the issues with it as extra care is required! ua-cam.com/video/bK7oT9ck5NI/v-deo.html
Hot Toys is just a toy…it has little collectibility, all plastic look feel. When the next version comes out as they always do, no one would want to buy this version and its value goes down the trash. Eaglemoss is a prop type collectible item. They are for different buyers, if you just like the movie and want something cool to play with, get HT. But if you are a collector who cares about movie prop, build, and accuracy, there is no choice. It’s the same story as chronicle collectibles(now bankrupt) ed209 vs ht ed209
my God this is the most ridiculous comparison I've ever seen . you're trying to make comparison of a completely separate cars one is 1/6 and the other is 1/9 anyone with clear vision knows that the hot toys is better representation than the eaglemoss . in case you haven't known if you're going to make a comparison that can be fair you do it with the same scale. this video just tells us that there are people who don't have anything better to do with UA-cam
I don’t agree with this at all. I’ve been looking for a comparison of the two simply for the reason of deciding whether to build one or keep the DeLorean that I just got. I’m not super pleased with the size of the mark ii, it’s a little too big for me and not wild about it mostly being plastic pieces for the price. That Eaglemoss color is waayyyyyyy off. You were spot on with saying the colors look swapped, that's very odd.
I know right? Can't be a coincidence!
I'd get two of the Hot Toys. One to keep as BTTF and the other I'd convert it back to stock.
I really like the stock converted Hot Toys. Tempted to go that way myself. Maybe when Mark 1 prices drop more? 😛
Eaglemoss is the best. For the Hot Toys version, it's still good but there are some hit or miss there, like there's not enough wiring in the interior and the wiring is a little bit darker...
Let's see what they do with the Mark 2. I want to do a side-by side comparison
The level of details and the materials of the Eaglemoss 1/8 model are (far) superior to the Hot Toys 1/6 one.
It's possible they consulted with DMC for a lot of the car (in fact pretty sure they had to), hence the slight bronze hue in certain lightning
Yeah mine was that way too. They look off on the actual car. The paint on the fascia looks more accurate to me on the hot toys. I do wish it was metal instead of plastic though. Apparently there is a mod that has you strip off the paint that make it look better?
Thank God I went with the Hot Toys Version!!! The eaglemoss version is most definitely NOT worth a $2300 dollar price tag. Great review.
