      @@arvidurs would be very interesting to know how you´d approach the volumetrics part in maya, also to stay procedural down the line. We tried to create texture driven clouds at pxo once, which worked like a charm in blender, but no way in maya with my knowledge back then (why Maya you ask ... I did so too back then :D).

    • @arvidurs
      @arvidurs  2 роки тому

      @@MorteJachwe the shaded volume approach is quite doable in maya as well, I'm showing that approach in this video as well. That way you can do it in any DCC.
      The proper VDB approach can be achieved in Maya as well, using Bifrost though. So it invovles a bit more trickery for sure

    Hello! As someone who is new to Houdini FX, and doesn't just want to buy a plug-in that allows them to do what you did, could you elaborate a bit on how you ended the sequence of nodes for the crystal around 7:55 and how to achieve it without the use of ODE Tools? Thank you so much! I can't wait to keep following this video :)

    • @arvidurs
      @arvidurs  2 роки тому +2

      Sure, in the video I am explaining how you can do it without the odtools. But for this case, just create a NULL node, rename it, and change the node icon (press Z) to the circle.
      Then on top level, you can create a new GEO node, and within that a Object Merge pointing it to the null.
