Fun experiment, even if those planes never made it to Alberta. I don't think the major industrial complex on Kiangsu is legal unless you have a home rule for it? Afaik that whole Chinese seaboard except for Korea and Hong Kong are considered occupied Chinese territories, not originally controlled Japanese ones
Ah! Another great game between Chris and Brian. A tough strategy to make work of course for the Axis. One of the most difficult. I think the only way this one works if it is executed before America is able to react in strength and if the Axis can follow it through not to be turned aside! Definitely caught Chris off guard! You've got guts, Brian! Would love to see this one work once in G40. It is easier in Pacific 40 because the USA is relatively weak if Japan hits the mainland on J2. Thanks again you guys!
It's against the rules to build a major factory in China. You can only build a major factory on a territory worth 3 IOC's or more an originally owned territory with your marker printed on the territory.
Hi chris and brian! I know you may not be reading this but I would really like for you guys to start making some new a and a content as i have just gotten both 1940's. Love ur vids ❤
Movie length and I enjoyed every minute off it! Maybe next time, destroy Soviet Union first? 2 factories on land turn 1 for Japan and start building those fast movers. Invade over land is a better ROI deal I think. Thx for posting this and the work you put into!
i think its gotta be extremely difficult with the amount of soldiers the soviets just have there? given though they dont start all on the same tile but it does still trigger the mongolian rule, i dont think it adds a lot of pressure to make the money worth it
It’s very weird that my axis and allies 1940 Europe campaign has a different pieces and structure it has no AA cannons and the naval ships like Italy is similar to the Germans.
Haven't read your home rules, but listening and have learned that taking London allows British Empire to move capital to Canada. Thats fine but i still think Germany should get the IPCs and British can collect after their turn. Should be a penalty to British for losing London besides just the 6 IPCs. Only my opinion
@BrianPlaysG40 the strategy may have plausibility if British have to turn over IPCs to Germany for losing London, and allowing then to collect the British turn, not allowing them to purchase for 1 turn.
🤣 Hi, thanks! When are you going to do the next game? Can’t you do them more often and against multiple opponents? It would be awesome to have a shared channel, with lots of players who can upload videos of games against each other, perhaps even a league or tournament over a log period of weeks or months??
So difficult to eliminate the American fleet. That fast pressure comes at the cost of ignoring Japan's economy to back up a prolonged fight. They just run out of steam when you neglect that. I've had success just slow rolling the standard moves with Japan, take the money islands, progress the land war in China, eventually apply pressure to India whilst staying one step ahead of America in terms of naval power. Sealion for me is a bust, just fake the sealion, if London isn't defended take it, otherwise always be building that German Navy up. Too much investment in transports leaves Germany too weak in the long run. Those IPCs are better spent on fighting units. A strong German naval presence in the Atlantic prevents an invasion, and all your ground forces can move on Russia. It forces Allies to put all money in ships and not land units. They have to protect a supply chain to threaten Europe. With a powerful German Navy you can project the threat to their supply chain of transports. If the Axis can get to economic parity the game is in their hands. Allies have to manage 2 ocean crossings to reverse the outcome. Germany just has to roll land units into Moscow to win the game.
Japan was in trouble from the beginning. It doesn't take long for Allies to outgun the Imperial navy if they don't take the proper steps to curb their economy and bolster their own. I'm afraid Japan's success relies on a firmly scripted plan. Doubtful anyone is going to reinvent the wheel with them. Japan is the key to obtaining economic superiority over the Allies. Without taking control over the south pacific and China it's just a slow roll to Allied victory. Unfortunately the game gets stale when applying the optimal moves every time. You gotta try things out to see if they'll shake things up.
Terrible strategy for Japan and Germany lol. Japan just surrendering the money islands. ANZAC and India making bank and Japan broke. Also Soviet Union getting bonuses for controlling axis territories = your doomed if they get even a couple of your spaces.
You wasted 1/2 an hour at the start, explaining your strategy that you didn’t do bc you bottled it. And 1/2 an hour at the end, explaining what you did wrong, when it’s patently obvious. The Axis nation’s must conquer territory to gain income that matches and potentially overtakes the Ally’s income. The Germans held up their end of the bargain, by conquering London. As did Italy, conquering the Med and Middle East. But that’s where the Axis run ended, you failed to capitalise on your gains and instead decided to waffle on for over an hour of the video, instead of trying to rescue the situation. You could’ve easily threatened the USA with Germany and Italy and forced the USA to give Japan some breathing space for a few turns. By diverting the USA fleet and airforce to the Atlantic. Then Japan could’ve swallowed up the money isles, Malaysia and cut off the UK Pacific Indian supply lines that was threatening Shanghai and Japan’s continental Asia designs. You had at one point conquered China, but failed to protect it from allied incursions that liberated the Chinese. This allowed their peasant militias to rise up, snowballing their reconquest of east Asia. Once they have their footholds secured and Japan is just whimsically, enjoying its pleasure cruise around the Pacific, it’s very difficult to extinguish, the Allies pursuits into east Asia. The only way is to keep that area tightly controlled, to suppress any inflammation of the Jap’s Empire. One way or another, by either reinforcing your land armies. Or by threatening Calcutta, to cut off the Allies supply lines, or a bit of both. By doing so, you also keep Australia in check and stop them growing into a force that can’t be tamed. If you’re going to start off threatening the USA, you must at least capture Hawaii and the Pacific islands and I don’t think you even did that? You must either do as you planned, killing the USA fleet off in the Pacific. Capture some territory in the North American continent. Or quickly after destroying the USA fleet, capture the Philippines and some money islands and protect your income in China. It’s a real shame that you cut this game off so early and wasted a lot of valuable playing time with waffle. You should just play the dam game and let the audience see the unfolding strategy, as it happens. There’s just no need to over analyse everything and explain what you’re going to do, like a James Bond villain does to James Bond. Right before James Bond escapes and then defeats him. You inevitably lose, when you get too confident with your plans, by explaining them beforehand. It was entertaining, but all too predictable. I knew you were going to fail, as soon as you stopped pressuring the USA and Canada with the European Axis and all the Axis fleets just floated around, for about 6 turns, doing nothing other than enjoying pleasure cruises. All the money gained from capturing London was offset by the money that you spent on transports and capturing London. So the affect of your Sea Lion was a net negative, or at best a net neutral. You must keep pressing on and not rest on your laurels, especially as Axis. Alternatively, you could’ve pushed headlong against Russia and given the USA hope of freeing London and North Africa, Gibraltar and the Med. To coax the USA fleet away from the Pacific and buy time for Japan. Using Germany’s transport ships to shuck infantry to Leningrad. The very worst thing you can do with transport ships, especially in mass, is leave them idle. I hope this helps for the future games. Thanks for the game and video, it was great fun.
These are fair criticisms of my execution, for sure. The extra commentary is only there because the folks watching keep telling me they enjoy it. Thanks for watching so closely and sharing your thoughts.
Thanks for replying. At least you take criticism on board like a real man, not like Hilltop Pillbox the pansy. He banned me from his comments section on his channel today. For saying Low Luck is better than dice, bc dice make bad strategies look better than they are. Or make great strategies look worse than they really are. I also said that the young generations don’t know how to make things like our forefathers did. I would include myself in with the younger generations. And Hilltop got upset with me about that, I told him he’s gone PC mad and we had a little argument. Nothing that bad was said, nothing personal and no swearing. I did say that he should take criticism on board like a real man and learn from it, no matter how disagreeable and distasteful it is for the recipient. Those were my actual words and then he started threatening me with banning, which is like waving a red flag to bull. I told him I’m not one of his pupils that he can manipulate and bully and I said, “hat are you going to do? Cane me over the game board, I expect you’d like that?” And that was it, he banned me and made a snotty little video called Please be nice. That was nice, for me at least. Anyway if you know him please tell that I promise to be nice from now on. Ty.

Dude I love your videos! I’ve watched everyone from start to finish more than once😅
Turn 1 starts 24:40
Been watching for years now. Always have loved these!

Thanks for seeing the plausibity of Operation german weather station. Its hard not to deviate when the other options look juicy or needed.
You mentioned your house rules and a new version (3.4). Is there a location I could see a copy of those and see if I’d wanna use them myself?
Added a link in the bio!
Nice! Gonna be a good evening for me after work 😁
It's against the rules to build a major factory in China. You can only build a major factory on a territory worth 3 IOC's or more an originally owned territory with your marker printed on the territory.
yea I noticed that too, it can only be a minor factory there
That is a beautiful setup. I wrote the Japan playbook and I have tried Operation Hollywood several times. That is the trickiest strategy to pull off.
These videos are the best, keep it up!
Wondering where you got some of your custom accessory pieces? For instance the capital building pieces.
Those and most others are from combatminiatures.org/
Great video again? Thx! Can you send a link for the new houserules you use? I want to print it out. Thx m8!
Hi chris and brian! I know you may not be reading this but I would really like for you guys to start making some new a and a content as i have just gotten both 1940's.
Love ur vids
❤
@@alpha_timmy I would love that as well!
Wow. Nice setup. I have to play AA Pacific on my carpet….
2:44 That's the Canadian Tire store brand. Like Great Value to Walmart.
Good vid!

ive done it in game where I was playing myself but played as tho i did not no either sides strat and i kinda worked so best of luck
Since Japan was attacking US, the 2 sea space buffer from continental US no longer applies.
true, but I didn’t attack until turned three
Where can I find the ruleset you are using?
Added a link in the bio!
Ottawa isn't where the CN Tower is... It's in Toronto. Ottawa should have a 3D model or our Parliament building or Carlton University.
Fair point
Where did you get your neutral pieces and where did you get the miniature buildings representing the major cities?
Mostly from Combat Miniatures
What size game table is that to support that super large mat?
7 feet
Ive been making a strat like this for my next game.
Also, super happy you tried the Western America hit!
Hi , i have a question . Where did you bought the pecies of capital?can you show me the link, please 😬
combatminiatures.org/
Hey Chris, are you planning some new G40 games?
this is awesome!
i'm currently watching ever a&a video i can find so great video
Finally!
There is a kill US first strat... it's bizarre but hell yeah it can be done
You’re missing a destroyer in the Caroline islands! Unless thats a house rule
Yes that’s a house rule. We moved it to SZ6 to nerf the J1 attack on ANZAC.
It’s very weird that my axis and allies 1940 Europe campaign has a different pieces and structure it has no AA cannons and the naval ships like Italy is similar to the Germans.
Do you guys play the 1914 version at all? I beleive they just rereleased it. If so, I'd love some videos on that.
Sorry, I haven’t played that. Hope you enjoy
LETS GO HYPE

Yes, the German player still takes UK’s money when they take London under our rules. Also. Ottawa can no longer collect national bonuses.
As soon as you started explaining your strategy I knew it would be game over. My immediate thought was Russia will be come to powerful.
To be fair, I flagged that possibility too. This was an experiment
@BrianPlaysG40 the strategy may have plausibility if British have to turn over IPCs to Germany for losing London, and allowing then to collect the British turn, not allowing them to purchase for 1 turn.
Are you interested in playing other teams in DFW area?
in theory, but we mostly play via facetime across the country, and not as often as we'd like
Can you already buy the map bc on their site it´ on "preorder".
The first run sold out. They are taking preorders for the next run
Whats someone got to do to get in on a game with you boys??
find that rare sweet spot in the calendar where we aren’t already booked
At last! Another YT video game, what’s taken you so long?
Life
@@BrianPlaysG40 Fair enough, what about my other comment about this video?
Hey Brian, do you ever do like youtube wars videos? id be keen if you ever do!
I’ve never had the time to do so, but I’d love to some day if I could!
I thought if you attack USA on turn 1 that that 2 space rule is out
It is but I didn’t attack
@@BrianPlaysG40 my bad I thought you attacked Hawaii on turn 1
Hurry up with the next video, don’t fanny around and waffle this time.
I shall endeavor to be waffleless

It would be awesome to have a shared channel, with lots of players who can upload videos of games against each other, perhaps even a league or tournament over a log period of weeks or months??
What's the green monopoly house in the Philippines for?
That’s what I use for military bases
go risk, is fun

Japanese units can’t go 2 sea zones within us
You were way too defensive with Japan. You never used your fleet early on when you had an advantage! And you never attacked the US!
That seems to be the consensus
