Good Job Young Grasshopper ! .. I think you have shown a Solid opening for any German Player to start the game. You also mentioned various options, which in inflective of the critical Units Purchased
One way I've found success in G1 barbarossa is to do a strategic bombing of lenningrad and ukraine. Assuming both get a single hit at even just a 1 on either factory they are entirely out because of their +2 bombing bonus. On its own this allows germany some breathing room to advance a breakthrough force to the front. Now combine this with a gambit in vyborg where you bring the whole surface fleet to land an artillery and infantry in vyborg. What usually happens I've found is I lose a cruiser and take it. With a movement into finland now north of keningrad is taken and while it isn't quite surrounded yet it very much will feel like it to a soviet player. Cause if they counterattack either direction with a destroyed factory they are going to feel vulnerable. Now the most major downside is you are leaving UK's fleet. But honestly I've found if I take out transports G1 and maintain my air superiority I have just as good a chance of crippling the North Atlantic on G2.
My favorite G1 purchase is actually 7 artillery for 28 IPCs, saving 2. If you capture France, Normandy, Yugoslavia, Finland, and Bulgaria you have 72 for turn 2. I like to buy 12 tanks. On turn 3 everything is ready to slam Russia.
@@mwienzek You need pieces that will be able to hit Moscow on turn 6, so slow movers are not an option. You could buy mechs for a 33% discount but they are only 1s on offense. Tanks are the way to go.
How do you get to 72 ipc’s in G2? You start with 30 ipc, loose 5 for starting a war with soviet, so that’s 25, and then you add 5 ipc from NO for having Norway and denmark, that’s 30 again, and then you add the ipc values from captures. You barely make it past 40 ipc?
@@markusberget2218 Don't declare war on Russia, which keeps the 5. You add Normandy, France, Yugoslavia, Finland, and Bulgaria. Those IPCs you pick up, plus the 2 you save on turn one, plus the 19 you get from capturing France's treasury will get you to 72 on turn 2. That's not an every turn number, since you won't get the bonus for capturing France every turn, but it allows the 12 tank purchase on turn 2. Me and my friends have played many many games. I've done this dozens of times.
I dont think you can bring the tactical from Germany. Non combat movement ends before units placed, so the tac bomber wouldn't land on the carrier. Can you confirm the rule? Thanks.
1.round Can Germany use Italian factory to produce ships? Italian is important to hold USA away from Europe, don´t want to lose it´s fleet in round 1. Player Denmark
My family ain’t gonna know what hit em
😆
Thanks for all the great videos. I like your strategy break down and game play explanation in your videos. You've helped me learn and enjoy the game.
Thanks Brad, really appreciate the nice comments

Good rundown, thanks for the comments... attacking Russia turn one ain't all that crazy... it's just hard to control UK for the rest of the game.
Thanks for the great videos, keep them coming 👍
Very good strategy 👍 thx YG

In G1, you should by a destroyer. And buying 12 tanks is not efficient. If you keep tanks fighting infantrymen, you will lose the game.

@@elliotcohen7781 Best to get a mix of a few mech and mostly tanks. Like 1:2

Nice intro
What about 6 dice rolls in science?! My favorite first turn
Minor factory for Rumania (12), fighter (10), destroyer (8) = 30
Ping pong your units through Yugoslavia and let the Italians finish them off.
Grasshopper, what material did your printer company use to print this map? I have always used Vinyl.
I print on vinyl adhesive and then mount it to a thick base like styrene.
I remember that music piece from the beginning...where is it from?
Not sure what it's called, I found it in my free IMovie audio library
It reminds me of some intro music from a video game menu screen?
I must have 1st edition, the British, French and Italian navies are different.
Just played my first game. Really like this. If you hit Yugoslavia, how does that affect all the rest of neutrals???
It doesn’t- invading neutrals that are pro the other side has no effect on strict neutrals.
Do you have a good place to get 2nd edition rules? I have 1st edition and dont want to drop $100 for a game I play through less then once a year.
look online

You can break that rule if there is a carrier to be placed at the end of your turn
6 transports :)
