It worked! I tried it multiple times and I finally got it to work. Make sure you:
1. Plug off charging cable if on laptop
2. Uninstall the USB devices
3. Shut down (don't restart)
4. Wait 3-4 minutes
5. Power on PC/Laptop
It might be just a coincidence, but only after I did all these steps I got it working again :)
This is the solution for me! Thanks!
Fucking legend mate. Took me 2 hours trying to fix it and nothing worked but this
I love you
for real! wierdest way to fix something...BUT it works...every "microsoft expert" tells me to do a thousand thing and even suggest me to replace my bluetooth with usb one lmao...Thanks bud
It worked for me !
I tried literally everything. What saved me in the end was someone's comment beneath here to shut down instead of rebooting after uninstalling the USB items in device manager. When I turned it back on, I got bluetooth back! Amazing.
Thanks, this fixed it for me as well.
thanks, it works.
Your comment saved my ass as well. Thanks.
Worked for me. Thanks!
It worked!!!!
Holy crap this worked after hours of slogging through various forums & tech support sites that don't address this particular mode of Bluetooth failure. Thank you, you're the best!
Glad it worked for you. Windows is pretty stupid sometimes!
oh my god, I spent a good 4 hrs installing everything I could find from forums just for this 4 minute video to save my life. Thank you so much !
Thank you so much! I was having the exact same problem as you and couldn't find anything online that worked to fix it. This fixed it perfectly! You're a legend.
Thanks. Glad I could help.
for whatever reason my laptop does this periodically and so I watch this vid every few months, you are saving my life like 4 times a year dude !!
Glad it’s helpful. But this shouldn’t happen that much. If you’ve played with an undervolt reset it. Also you also might be overheating/blue screening causing this problem after a crash.
Thank you! I had the exact same issue and tried the same steps up until uninstalling the USB driver. However, the first time I uninstalled the USB driver and restarted immediately, the issue remained. On the second try, I shutdown the computer for 10 minutes and then restarted, and it was fixed. Perhaps additional time was needed with the computer off to clear memory.
THIS!!!!!!!! it needed to be turned off not restarted. tysm you saved me
Thank you so much! I was at the end of my wits but all it took was a 10min time out after uninstalling.
Did you have this recurring after shutting down computer after uninstalling the driver? Bluetooth worked for awhile then I had to repeat this process again. Why does this happen?
Thank you so much! I've been trying for a solid hour, been through all of Microsoft's forums and yet again, UA-cam saves the day! Thank you again and greetings from Bulgaria! :)
bruvvv, i literally spent the past two hrs watching every video on youtube and reading every forum on how to fix this sudden thing(Windows 11), and your video (+ the shutdown comments) is the only thing that helped me. thank you.
Wow. The only thing that worked for me. Even restoring from a previous restore point hadn't worked. Thank you!
OMG I literally spent hours trying to fix it, reading a bunch of forums and then randomly stumble across this video and boom, fixed in three minutes. Thank you so much.
Just a tip, restart doesn't work, you have to shut down, then remove charger, and then turn back on.
Glad I could help!
thanks lol somehow removing the charger and shutting down did the trick for me I spent hours playing around tryin to fix it
Did not worked for me :( and I was so exited that it would, when I found this video. Any other tips? tried 3 times. reboot, also shut down after uninstalling all USB devices.
same
Same :(
hey y'all... I did tried again after a couple of weeks and it worked. keep trying from time to time. this is a strange behavior
Try unplugging / Removing battery and wait a couple minutes.
Simply restart didnt work for me. Unplugging for several minutes did work for me.
Try to disable Wireless and Bluetooth in BIOS and exit with saving these settings and load Windows, then make reboot and enable Wireless and Bluetooth in BIOS, and exit with saving these settings. It worked for me
I had the same exact problem on my ZenBook 13 UX331FAL. Deleting all USB's didn't work for me. Remembering that the Intel AC 8265 Dual-Band WirelessWiFi adapter supports Bluetooth. I uninstalled it under "Device Manager/Network adapters/Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265
", rebooted and now it's all working again. Thanks for leading me down the right path!!! 🎉🎉🎉
kk6cq, you nailed it! NetCruzer, you rock! thank you guys.
Thanks for the help NC. Was having the exact same problem on my Inspiron AIO PC. Seems windows update replaced the host ctrl driver in an update and broke many brands (mine is AMD.)
Worked like a charm. Ended up hitting shut down instead of restart, which I now see helped others in the comments as well. You're a legend G!
Holy... Thank you so much! Everything else didn't work except this. You've saved me here!
Thank you! I spent all day yesterday while a MS tech had remote control of my computer. He tried multiple re-installs and uninstalls. He never solved the problem. 5 minutes with your video and the problem is solved!
About 2 years late but your solution saved me from a headache. I spent more than an hour trying to figure it out and even did a system restore point. All i did was disable the integrated mic in my bluetooth headset and then suddenly windows freezes for a minute and bluetooth disappears.
I also want to add that any other USB devices that are plugged in are affected by some kind of "temporary lag". (This is how or why i actually searched for USB issues in device manager)
When the laptop boots, the devices do not get immediately detected, instead you have to wait until the start-up process is done, theeennn windows detects the plugged in devices. I use a seperate "wired" mouse & keyboard and i noticed they get detected or "started up" way late.
Thanks mate, I just had this issue. Spent an hour trying to troubleshoot, took your advice, and in less than 2 mins with my SSD, and viola.
Thanks for the video champ - this fixed my issue in 3 minutes flat and now I can stop being angry again. Kudos.
OMG ,, spend 10hrs to find the drivers!!! non of it works for me.!!! and you are the life saver my friend!! keep posting videos!! it helps alot!!! TYVM
Here I am 4yrs later and this worked for me on my desktop. It took me a couple of tries but it worked. I looked at many long video's, on Google etc. for hours and nothing worked but this did, thank u so much.
Worked for me, Thanks! I was scratching my head for 2 hours, reinstalling driver software...
Seems to be a common issue with Windows 10 update 1803. I ran into the issue back in May and fixed it, but now it's back again.
FUCKKKK i just installed that updated yesterday. Fuck you microsoft
Rand into it yesterday with 1809 personally.
I've done the Troubleshooter, latest Asus and Intel drivers and nothing has fixed it (Asus laptop). Uninstalled the Unknown USB Device, restart, and even if the Bluetooth works again, it will only work for a few minutes/hours/ days before the Bluetooth disappears again.
Any updates on an updated solution?
Just a tip, if you're on a desktop pc, you literally have to unplug from the wall. Took me a few tries of uninstalling the drivers and restarting to figure that out. Also, this happened to me a few months ago. Last time I just uninstalled the driver and everything was fine. This helped me so much. Can't thank you enough!
Thank you so much man, I spent a whole day trying to fix it, and your solution worked perfectly!
Dude, you saved me. Been more than 2 months trying to use my bluetooth
fighting one hour trying to resolve this issue and than I descovered this video....thank you!!
You're a lifesaver! This was stumping me and this put me on the right track!
Whoa! As well as Bluetooth, my wifi was dead. I thought it was a hardware failure. I had no hope at all until I ran into your video!
Thanks so much! The problem is gone now.
Nothing is working. The steps taken in this video fixed the problem last time it happened but not this time. The problem is back again and nothing I do fixes it. I can't even uninstall all the USB devices because when I uninstall 1, about 3 other USB devices disappear and I have no way of uninstalling them as they are no longer listed in device manager until I restart my laptop
try with shut down after unintalling the USB controller. it worked for me after unsuccesfully tried with reboot.
@@razvan.scurtu WOW! Amazing! Thanks for your advice, I finally got my bluetooth back again.
@@razvan.scurtu Thanks for the advice
@@razvan.scurtu Thanks Dude. It worked. I twice tried uninstalling the USB controller then rebooting and it did not work. Third time I shut it off like you said and now have BT back.
@@razvan.scurtu Thank you very much, rebooting didn't fix it for me either but shutdown did. FYI: I also unplugged my laptop from the adapter after shut down but I'm not sure that did anything. Many thanks for the video Netcruzer!
Wow. I spend 3 hours finding a fix for this, until I found this video and fixed this issue in 2 minutes. Thanks for sharing.
it's not workin
Awesome. It works on a PCIe AX200 which suddenly stopped working. I did uninstall the device you mentioned, shut down and turn on the PC and then Bluetooth start working again.
You won a beer for this video.
I have the exally the same problem but I tried this twice but nothing seems to work
IT WORKED
ALSO REMEMBER TO UNPLUG POWER SUPPLY AND COMPLETELY SHUTDOWN YOUR COMPUTER AFTER YOU UNINSTALL THE STUFFS
I second this!!! this was the only thing that brought back the beloved little blue icon on my sidebar.
@@firasrajab4891 yeah.. tried like 500 times to figure out how. Good luck to you.
This just happened to me, I haven't finished the video yet but just wanted to say we have the SAME EXACT MOUSE. I wonder if it has something to do with the sculpt.
I was playing around with undervolting my CPU and GPU before this happened, so that's likely what caused this error to occur in the first place. It took me a few troubleshooting attempts to find this fix, so I thought I'd share. Hope it helps someone in the future.
Thanks a lot! I got the same issue with my Asus Zenbook. This info helped me realized that it has something to do with my tweaking the BIOS a few days back. I reinstalled all the USB drivers like you did and also disabling and then re-enabling the USB devices from BIOS. After a few attempts the issue is now resolved.
Happy New Year! Thanks for sharing the troubleshoot & solution!
My BT disapppeared all out of a sudden,
perhaps infected by the latest Chi-nese coronvirus.
I tried your deletedevice/reboot, but didnt work.
Then I resorted to something a little bit simpler:
ONLY disabling the intel USB host controller / rescan hw
then BT came back even WITHOUT rebooting.
Thank you! Can't believe that this problem still exist in 2022. I spent 3 hrs trying to fix it and it finally worked after watching ur video. Very helpful!
Dropping a like here, and confirming that your tip did work on my Lenovo Ideapad S145 (AMD Ryzen 3). Like many of the other commenters, in my case it seems that I have to shut down the laptop instead of just restarting it. Thanks, bro!
I have the same problem but when I fix it the problem comes back when I try to switch Bluetooth on and also my WiFi driver stops working when I fix this for some reason. Any suggestions?
You really saved my day, been through numerous articles but none of them worked.
Then I found this great video and voila it really fixed it. Bluetooth is back. Amazing
PS. instead of restart, completely shutdown your computer
Thank you for the advice. Followed your trouble shooting and it solved my problem.
Thanks you so much!!!! Works perfectly and saved me so much time and frustration
Didn't work for me until I disconnected all USB devices (like Hard Drives, Mouse...) before rebooting. But finally worked! TY so much for sharing!
Super helpful and on point! Got it working by following this, but also I had to remove my USB Ethernet Adapter first, then delete everything and reboot. Bluetooth is back!
for me worked only with shut down instead of reboot, after uninstalling the USB controller.
Thank you
Yes!!! Thank you
Thank you so much! I tried for around 2 and a half hours to fix it just now and then I came across your video and the issue was finally resolved. In my case though it took several tries because on my device manager I have 2 of those extensible host controllers so I had to uninstall them in a very specific order. I also waited around 15 or so minutes after the shut down and just to be sure I unplugged the pc from the wall for around 5 minutes or so and then when I turned it back on the issue had been fixed. Thanks again for the great video!
mine is showing AMD USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller -1.0 (Microsoft).if i delete that does windows automatically create host controller
Yes it will. At least it should.. no guarantees if your windows is full of virus/malware.
@@netcruzer windows automatically create host controller still not fixed.can you plzzz check my pc with remote access
I found several versions of this solution on the web, but it wasn't working for me. The detail in your video that made the difference was to go straight to uninstalling the "USB Host Controller". Other solutions said uninstall every USB component one at a time. I don't think it was getting all of them before losing my mouse. By uninstalling the Host Controller first, the whole tree disappeared right away. That was the difference. So, thank you for the video! I had been without sound for 2 days now. After shutdown/startup, everything is back! Oh, I did also have an "NVidia USB Host Controller" listed. I deleted that one first, then the "Intel USB Host Controller". In case anyone else runs into that.
Desktop user here. This worked in my case too - brilliant thanks! Had to experiment a bit with what to Uninstall in the USB group but in the end Bluetooth came back. Also did full power shutdown in between tries
Can you help me out? I cant figure out how to disintall everything without my mouse and keyboard going off before I've finished
@Vanes Dalmonte I had that too, I ended up figuring out which USB device controlled the mouse and keyboard and kept those alive. Lots of trial and error unfortunately
Thank You so so much! just shutdown the computer at the end instead of restarting it fixed the issue for me and for many others as well
It worked!!!! you are a genious, no one from Microsoft could solve the problem
I was about to jump through hoops to remove and reinstall everything, and then I shutdown the PC, pulled the plug and waited. When started up again, the the BT icon showed up again. my BT is built into my TUFF X570 Mobo. The problem started when after a warmboot (restart), and I did have pending Windows updates for my Intel-device (probably the Wifi adapter) and one of those 22h2 updates. I usually see issues when there is a pending download for a device update...like windows is designed to fail in order to force you to update.
This had been driving me crazy for an hour.. thank you so much
Thanks mate, worked. All other methods (I initially tried all the ones you did) did not work either. Cheers!
thankyou so much, i had the same issue . spend the whole day figuring out the problem and even i reinstalled my windows and all of the drivers but i dont get succeded but thankfully to you solved the problem within a minute, again thanks
Thx man, this helped. I had like 3 Bleutooth Devices connected, and for no reason my Bluetooth suddenly was gone. My Mouse and headset just disconnected, and Bleutooth exactly like it was with you, was nowhere to be found.
Uninstalling the eXtensible Host controller thing and then rebooting did the trick for me. Before I only tried to uninstall the faulty driver, which obviously did nothing.
I LOVE YOU! I had the same problem with my bluetooth and the wifi also stopped working. I've tried dozens of possible solutions and finally yours did it for me. It worked after shutdown (not restart). Thank you very much
You saved my life bruh! thank you so much for posting.
Worked for me! Thank you! Go through USB devices and uninstall the eXtensible USB 3.0 and 3.1 hosts, as well as anything else USB 3.0 related that remains. You may want to make sure if on a desktop that your keyboard and mouse are plugged into 2.0 ports or you may lose them at any point during the process. I did lose mouse and keyboard, so I did a manual shutdown pressing the power button. Started up again and devices did not wholly reappear and my keyboard did not work. Restarted through the start menu and everything came back, including bluetooth!
One added thing I did after shutting down was to flick off the PSU power switch for 10 seconds to kill USB standby power. I have no idea if this contributed to the success but it occurred to me that possibly some bad instruction from a USB device was persisting even through power offs due to standby 5v. So I killed that too.
I've had the same problem but my wifi would also disappear with the bluetooth. For me it happened when i was playing a game and i had my PS4 controller connected with bluetooth and suddenly controller was unresponsive and the game crashed, i checked to see if controller has disconnected and the bluetooth was gone. Thought I'd check on the internet what the problem was but wifi was gone too. What do you think the problem was on my laptop?? And how can i find out what the problem was??.. And thanks for the trick it worked!
You did it, that was the solution. Thanks.
Bro, i shocked. I don't know how to thank you. You saved my vacation and i'll use my laptop. Thank you so much!!
thanks I've been struggling for months rolling back to system restore each time. I have an acer as well must be a common issue
thank you for that! I was already thinking it was a hardware error, but (obviously) it was Windows being Windows.
Thank you so much . I don't know what I would have done, had I not found this video...😅
Lifesaver! Thanks so much for this. I spent 3 days trying different things and reading blog posts and this was the only thing that helped. I would recommend leaving it 10 minutes and unplugging after following the advice to be sure. I feel that all of us should go for a nice chicken dinner together and complain about windows! Thanks again.
😆 chicken dinner wait time reboot fixed it for you. 👍
@@netcruzer 😆
just a small hint, you have to power down the laptop/PC, and power it on again, not restart.
YES!!! Google, Microsoft, and Samsung searches and forums did not find anyone with this answer except you, and it is correct! I may repost your answer elsewhere since this problem is very common.
Does anyone know what caused this particular glitch, besides your solution? Was it Windows Update? Intel update? User mis-config? Driver bug? THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!!
This is still happening today 4 years later!! glad to find your video, It saved me and my laptop. so still a vary relevant video. thanks again.
The bluetooth driver on my laptop which has Windows 10 suddenly vanished and I got Unknown USB Device (device descriptor request failed) in the device manager. I did the initial troubleshooting steps which are restart the laptop, uninstall the unknown USB device, troubleshooting bluetooth and reinstalling the bluetooth driver and the problem was still there. After that I didn't uninstall the USB host controller driver and I just shut down the laptop and I left it off for 1 hour and I unplugged the laptop charger. The bluetooth came back when I switched on the laptop.
great video!!!! fixed it, thanks for sharing.
This is just what I needed. Thanks a lot.
This didn't work for me should i reinstall windows
This fixed my issue - could not find this description elsewhere. After removing all USB drivers and shutting down, I had trouble getting my mouse working again afterwards, but managed to reinstall my intel chipset drivers and reboot to get all my USB devices back online. And Bluetooth!
Which lap is tht tho?!
Wow...I was close to buying a replacement Wifi/BT M.2 card for my desktop. I knew it was a USB issue but didn't think to remove the root hub for the device. Thanks for the hint!
What if your mouse can't click the button to confirm the restart since the usbs get deleted
dude your a life saver thanks for the vid
Dude, you're a legend. Been more than 2 days trying to use my bluetooth
Also had this strange issue on my ASUS Vivobook Pro and it works now. Thank you very much!
It only worked after a complete shutdown not restart.
This happens sporadically for me. It seems to be a hardware problem with the Bluetooth module. I'm using a Lenovo ideapad 330.
please tell me a fix, the fix you have shown in the video is not working
Thanks! I tried taping pins as instructed elsewhere but your steps made the difference. I thought I bought a faulty wifi/bt chip but after deleting the USB devices, on reboot bluetooth appeared.
wow it worked!, i accidentally stumbled on the vid after few hours of attempt to fix my Bluetooth but the vid save my life ! thanks bro!
I've been given the run around forever, downloading driver software, factory resetting, pretty much everything. But this is the only thing has worked for me. This has happened to me several times now. Does anybody know why this keeps happening? Reporting it to windows does jack all, and nobody can tell me why this keeps happening. It would be nice to not have to uninstall devices and reboot my computer every couple of days.
Thank you so much that resolve my problem
It's worked! Thank you! Thanks to commentators too. for PC users, do not forget to unplug power and wait for a 5-10 minute (probably for clearing memory).
Thanks. It's really helpful to me!
when I do the same, but a "turn off and on" instead of a "restart" it works
but it breaks again afterwards
if anyone can help I'll be thankful
Thanks, man! Microsoft tech was no help, went through 3 techs at microsoft was a nightmare. They reinstalled Win 10 twice with no solution. Those techs work off a mindless manual, they don't think. Google found you for me.
Wow I’m amazed a full reinstall didn’t reset the USB host controller. Glad my video helped you!
I shutdown my computer and also unistalled the unknown usb drive, it still doesn't work. Any help ?
THANK YOU! My bluetooth did the same today and a quick google search sent me here. It took me 2-3 tries to uninstall the USB Devices before the bluetooth came back. Win 10, latest upgrade per March 15th 2021. I have been struggling with my bluetooth headset before and sent that in to the retailer, thinking it was the headset. Maybe it just was this driver thingy.
Aaaanyway: thank you for making such an informative video.
Man I feel like you literally saved my life XD .
I tried everything but nothing worked for me. Finally I saw this thanks a lot dude .
I have my exams coming I can't tell how much this has helped me
its now end of 2021 and this video still save my life! awesome man!
Thank you so much for this fix, you saved me.
Reboot and restart are the same?
yes
Thank you! Thank you!!!!!! Your video finally solved a problem that I have spent five days of watching numerous UA-cam videos that gave everything but the right answer. I watched your video and 10 minutes later problem was solved - Thank you!!!!
