The 'whole of the topic in … minutes' videos DO NOT comprehensively cover everything you need to know for your exams. It would be impossible to include 2 years of teaching in 1 hour. These should NOT be your only source of revision • Do the 'whole topic in... My exam predictions are just GUESSES!! I don't have any insider knowledge just years of looking at exam papers.

Some stupid girl in my chemistry class literally wrote 'award 1 mark' in the exam 🤣🤣 Some peoples IQs are actually negligible.
lmfao😭😭💀
IM DEADDDD😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I did my mocks and I got a 9 in Bio, 5 in Chem and 7 in Physics. My teacher didn't count my Biology mark because she thought I "cheated". Other students had access to the set of papers while I didn't. I worked so hard for Biology. My teacher even said she knew I didn't cheat because of my answers. I ended up getting a 5-5 overall. So gutted as I would've got a 7-7 if the Biology mark was counted :(
That's so unfair
That's not right.
lies. She can get fired if she has no proof against u
@@_trm_4339 I reported it to my Head of Year. She said that it would've been unfair to others if they included my Biology mark. The ironic thing is that a girl got a 9 in Bio, 7 in Chem and 7 in Physics and she counted all of her grades. My Mum tried pushing it but they didn't do anything. I have mocks in a month so I'll have to wait then..
Peak
In my last mocks. I got a 9 in chemistry, a 9 in physics and a 5 in biology. Because of the inconsistencies in my physics and biology paper my physics teacher accused me of cheating and was going to mark my paper as a U if I hadn't provided some form of evidence. So I basically had to call in the invigilators and my seat number for them to confirm I didn't cheat. Silenced my physics teacher in a bitter sweet manner.
Okay but wow congrats on those grades
Coygooners -- Nothing wrong or inconsistent with your marks. Evidently, you're a good physical scientist but an average biologist. Yes, this situation is quite normal.
AY SHUT UP FAM XD
What did u do to get a 9 in chem and physics because those 2 are the ones I struggle with at skl and I have my GCSEs in may/June
@@sloppierflame5 SHATTT APPPPP
Can looking at mark schemes not help you with learning definitions and things too though? I find the spec hard to understand as it is so actually in context it helps me to understand
Go through the paper in exam conditions and the topics you don't know or got wrong search up on how to work them out and do questions on them and u can use the mark scheme as a reference
I use the mark scheme so I know what will get marks
@@TP-mv6en yea but how u work it out isn't always the best in the mark scheme
@@absurd8360 as an A* a-level chemistry student, I have found that learning the mark scheme is best form of revision. It makes tests infinitely easier and I pretty much know every question format which they could ask me on a certain topic.
@@mtsl7780 yea true but first you should do it urself see what u get the use the mark scheme to alter/improve ur answer
the main problem i find is that the majority of people cheat. some people in my classes sit with the answers on their phone and copy it and suddenly get a great grade, which reflects poorly on me and others who didn’t cheat. if we don’t at least look at the paper or mark scheme before doing the exam, we get lower grades and seem like we are doing something wrong when in fact the people who maybe don’t understand as much are cheating a lot. for this year, some of the mocks were written and taken from lots of exams which i preferred as i know that revision and hard work will come through and the students who just cheat will be clear.
Invigilators are evidently not doing their job. They need to be reported as a disgrace and unprofessional. In fact, corrupt invigilators should be reported to the police for prosecution. They must not be paid. If they are in-house, the school should fire them.
@@LaHayeSaint We did them in classrooms with no invigilators due to covid :(
@@lolaallanson440 Lola -- Any Mock, even one sat in a classroom should have at least 2 members of staff present. This allows one staff member to chaperone for toilet needs or a medical emergency or some other emergency. Before the Mock starts, the lead staff member should briefly address the fact that Public Examination standards will apply at all times, including penalties for cheating.
Well I didn't cheat in my mocks and still got a 8 in biology, 7 In physics and 7 in chemistry and other good grades so it defo can be done we only had a 2 week learning period so I assume this is quite good
I’m in yr 10 and got a 9 overall on bio gonna do English lit next week

I feel like as students we should make use of past papers, mark schemes and examiners reports but it is more about how we use these resources. I don't memorise specifics for specific papers, I like to practice exam technique, read examiner reports to see where students frequently lose marks and then if I was to use the mark scheme the only thing I may try to remember is the language for the levels for example "Clear and coherent response". This alongside lots of revision is all you need to succeed, you really do not need to memorise the answers as this will not help you in the real exam, although by using past papers you will be able to identify patterns that are consistent year after year.
ive accidentally cheated lmao, i was just practising old papers and I was in the exam and opened the paper and was shocked. like I had studied this paper for revision
That happened to me as well!
But aren't mock exams supposed to be like an unreleased paper???????
@@uzi.goyard6118 my school used the 2019 for two subjects and i did them for revision a few days before
@@uzi.goyard6118 mock exams are often old gcse papers
This happened to me yesterday in chemistry exam, purposely got some answers wrong tho lmao 🤣 What happened to you, did your teachers find out or something
I did a past paper of physics, for revision for mocks. When I got to the exam, it was the exact same paper - so ofcourse I knew the answers.. Im not cheating - im just revising yk.
What is this? A level physics exam? Or mock
@@boostbaa2882 gcse mocks
So the best thing to do is revise all past papers and wish one of them is your exam. If not then you'll also get a good mark cuz you practiced a shit ton. So it's a win win. Big brain moment
Uzi -- No. Revise your subject knowledge. Then do several timed past papers.
Someone got the papers for science in my year and there was a 5 marker which everyone wrote a whole page on in biology and he wrote 2 lines 😂
wait so if im doing past papers, lets say 2018 or 2019 papers and the mocks turn out to be a mix of those papers, is it cheating?
No, they're released and exist to the public. It's cheating when you go to extraordinary lengths to find a paper that nobody else can find because they're supposed to be locked away to be only used by teachers not students.
I’ve cheated on mocks. Oh no!!!
Boost -- That's not clever at all. You should be a ashamed of yourself.
@@LaHayeSaint
Not really. Literally 90% of the entire school cheated. Our teachers accidentally gave us the papers
@@boostbaa2882 Boot -- If it was the school's mistake, then you are exonerated.
Big up to you 🙏🏽👏🏾🤡
@@jxpan246 jxpan -- It would be a wake-up call if this individual who thinks it's so funny to cheat was disqualified from all their GCSEs for one whole year.
My biology teacher says that when we do tests and when we did our mock the other week, she doesn't mind if we tell all questions and potential answers to other classes who have these assessments at different times because if they can remember all the information you tell them, it's good on them to remember it. She genuinely believes that those are deserved marks because it's "good exam technique" but personally, I think that's wrong.
Slurpin Bird m-- Exams should be unseen, otherwise, there is no point!
@@LaHayeSaint precisely! To (hopefully) no surprise, this teacher is actually called 'Karen'.
For context, if you might not know, you get to call A-level teachers by their first name so I'm very much used to calling her that!
@@slurpinbird5207 Slurpin Bird -- I doubt if Ofsted or the Examination Board would agree with Karen's philosophy, which should indicate that it is full of holes. "Cheating" is not and will never be, good exam technique. She has most definitely lost her way.
@@LaHayeSaint my point exactly. She is one of the examiners for aqa at exam time in the summer, so I have no idea where her whole ideology of 'remembering the mark scheme before you've been given the test isn't cheating' came from, but it is definitely wrong.
Are they gonna use 2021 papers for mock exams ?
Yes

They genuinely won’t I highly highly doubt it
It's really bad, nearly half the people in my science class have the papers and I am refusing to use it. I'm scared it will affect my grade since the grade boundaries are based on the results from our year. I heard some kid say that they have the 2022 GCSE papers already...
The best thing is to not use it! The people that have it will struggle at gcse but just revise normally and i'm sure you'll be fine! I came out with a 9988755 (5s were foundation) for mocks by just revising for 1-2hours a day:). Hope gcses go ok for youuu:D

Nobody has to cheat
Everyone has a choice not to

I am shocked at the number of young people and teachers who blur the borders of cheating and honesty in a Mock exam. Let me spell it out. If the teacher defines what past paper they will use as a Mock and students are forewarned, then that is cheating. If a teacher goes through a past paper and uses that past paper as a Mock, then that is cheating. If, however, students on their own volition, find past papers on the internet and work through them, this cannot be cheating as the papers are open access and equally available for all students. If students use any notes, marks on their bodies or any disallowed electronic device to assist themselves with answering a question, this is cheating. Invigilators who turn a blind eye to cheating in an exam are an embarrassment to the school and need to be fired if it can be shown quite clearly that they are in collusion with a student using unfair advantage to improve their grade. Invigilators must patrol frequently but should not linger near one student as this could be off-putting. Wanding should be employed on all occasions a student leaves / enters the exam room to visit the loo. CHEATING IS UNFAIR AND AN AFFRONT TO THOSE HONEST STUDENTS WHO HAVE WORKED HARD TO TARGET A TOP GRADE.
Yes, it is an affront, but not a catastrophe. It’s impossible to cheat entirely from scratch in an exam. If you haven’t studied at all/ do not have some sort of skill in the subject area, you will fail the exam even if you cheat. It absolutely does not help that exams are defined dates which cannot be moved regardless of circumstance that may cause students to “sacrifice” a subject, or at least take liberties on it such as this. The system is literally designed to prevent the majority of students from getting top grades in an effort to preserve elitism. I’m sure it’s very disheartening to get a top grade on a subject and find out somebody else who also got that grade didn’t strictly apply to the ridiculous expectations required for an exam, despite the fact that this outcome has no impact on said student, but failing said exam, feeling worthless, unable to achieve when people around you etc would make you feel much, much worse. The invigilator who turns a blind eye to this is arguably a better person than those who would not. Invigilators should never have been employed in the first place as they are always off-putting, and someone cheating on an exam is only the end of the world when the people in it decide that there should only be so many people who can get into top universities to get top jobs with top salaries so that the rich can stay as rich as possible
@@kiera6326 Kiera, you raise several points: (1) The degree of cheating does not matter to be deemed a cheat. Just like if you steal a 5 p item from a shop, rather than a £5 item; (2) Exams need to be timetabled as everyone knows what is happening and when, and can plan their revision around them. By holding the same exam at the same time on the same day, there are less chances of friends informing others about what questions to expect; (3) I don't think the system is designed to protect elitism. Exams, whilst very stressful, are probably one of the fairest methods to assess who is "competent" from who is not in a given subject. There are a few people who suffer unduly from exams, and these may need support to help them cope during an exam. If you don't pass an exam, you are not worthless. Anything but. Either you lack subject knowledge or you have not carried out a time appreciation for each question, or you are unwell . You may even detest that particular subject. This can happen; (4) Invigilators are there to do a job, as they are paid specifically to do this job and uphold the standards expected; (5) The current system expects most students to go to university. This was never the case years ago. Only the top 10% or 20% would go to university. The rest would find apprenticeships and learn on the job; (6) A good education may not deliver wealth. New money comes from: (a) Online businesses; (b) Market Trading Stocks and FOREX; (c) Online property. Thank you, all the same, for your response.
What is your advice do those who cheated in all mocks, and have never sat a proper paper? because I don’t want to be disadvantaged before the real a level papers?
Don't cheat and actually study lol
"i dont want to be disadvantaged"
says the person who 'cheated in all mocks'? LMAO... I don't think I could care less
Unfortunately I don't think there is a magic solution, if you haven't revised you probably will be disadvantaged- your only real option is to change your ways and put in the work
What did you expect?
