for animating your offset with time, or any property that has multiple values, you don't need to write all that value stuff, just write
time*[0,0] where the first number is for X and second is for Y, note the use of SQUARE brackets

Great tutorial, thank you very much! I played around with this, made the smoke 3D and parented all the smoke layers with a spot light that moves through the smoke, super cool! Starting from here the possibilities are endless. Thanks again ;)

Oddly, the turbulence offset expression won't loop :(
It works fine loops until I add it that specific expression in.
This the expression
[value[0]+time*100, value[1]-time*75]

When you preview your work, we (the viewers) only see the black background!
I believe his blacks are crushed because he began screen capture in RGB, then didn't account for that on import into a Rec709 color space video project, then back out to RGB. It's a common mistake when moving between computer monitors and NLE's designed for NTSC television screens, which have different luminance ranges.
You need to show it work

@2:17 when you add the fractal noise effect onto the fractal noise layer, it looks cloudy. When I add the effect onto the layer, it doesn't do this. It shows the effect has been added, but nothing changes. Any idea's why?
I have a logo that I crashes down onto the background and I want to add a plume of smoke at the moment the logo becomes still, do you have any tutorials for that?
Can't you just export without background so you have alpha channel? or export with no background and then reduce the opacity as needed when you use the smoke?

The only thing I would say could improve this is to brighten the screen and slow down just a little bit while talking through because I'm new to this and it'll be a little harder to play back all the instructions haha other than that you rock man! Thank you!

If you want to know how to make it go left instead of right, all you have to switch - (minus) instead of + (plus)...
Is there any option to loop moving (up, down, left or right) fractal noise effect?
alt + keyframe, choose property, loop out and type the program. Or you could search "flag" in his channel I remember he taught before, hope my comment can help you.

Try using adobe media encoder. You should have it since it comes along with after effects. Media encoder helps you to speed up your rendering
