What just happened? I'm lost, confused, and a little hungry.
Well said, but sadly I doubt anyone will be boiling for 2+ Hours. I get a ton of flack for boiling 90 minutes after David Heath said 60 minutes is enough! Sadly I forget to recalculate my boil-off (simple math) from 90 to 60 and sometimes just go back to 90 and deal with the flack. I honestly feel that some home brewers would love to wave a magic wand over their boil kettle and instantly have a drinkable beer. (It actually pisses me off how impatient some people are to make good beer.)
Yea 2+ hour boils definitely aren't the most efficient way to get the job done but they do have a lot of merit for certain styles. That said if I'm brewing a hazy IPA I'm probably barely hitting hot break before starting to chill :/
Why even stop boiling? I just leave my kettle going until it's dry.
So clear it's like it's not even there!
