  • We created this Citra Pale Ale beer making kit for two types of people: folks who have never brewed before and experienced brewers who want to brew something smaller and easier than they usually do. Making beer has never been easier than it is with this kit, which allows you to brew beer at home quickly and efficiently.

    FYI for anyone getting started, you can upgrade this to all grain just by adding a brew bag or large muslin cloth to your setup. Overall this kit looks awesome for doing experimental batches before going to 5 gal, just ordered one for myself for that reason.

    Just a quick tip, cooling down the wart in the fridge might sound like a good idea, but it can actually create condensation inside the fridge. Over time, this can lead to increased ice buildup on the cooling element, potentially causing future issues. Just something to keep in mind!"

    I found that a short piece of hose ( 2 or 3 inches ) attached to the spigot will allow the bottling wand to hang within easy reach and will speed bottling significantly. Just place a drip pan on the floor under your wand.

    I’ve brewed 3 styles so far on the Clawhammer 120v system. The 1st an Irish Red that came out fantastic, 2nd a German Festbier is still lagering and the 3rd a robust porter is fermenting. Extremely pleased with the system…really makes brew day easier and allows me to brew the beers with the flavor profiles & complexity that I want. Thanks guys!

    Very wierd question.
    So, to preface this: I'm currently reading through the Kingmaker module for Pathfinder 2e, to run for my group. All the inhabitants of a neighboring fledgling Kingdoms town suddenly disappeared, and in the description for what can be found there, it says, that at the towns brewery, they can basically find several barrels of beer, that were in the process of being loaded onto a cart when the people vanished.
    When the player characters arrive in the town, it has been at least two weeks since the people vanished, so these particular barrels layed in the sun and were exposed to the elements for this whole time.
    Now my question: what would have happened during this time?
    The book doesn't really dwell on it any longer after setting the scene. My first instinct was, that the barrels sitting outside either already did or were close to bursting/exploding, having build up a good bit of pressure due to laying in the sun for so long, my reason being, that it heats up in the sun, so the Fermentation keeps going.
    But since I don't have any knowledge on the subject, i tried looking up what the likely Outcome would be, but couldn't find too much on the matter, other than that the beer would go bad due to the UV rays in the sunlight, which I think wouldn't be that much of a Problem, since a wooden barrel wouldn't let much light through. Only other thing I found, that's somewhat related/helpful, was, that beer stored in a keg should be consumed better sooner than later, and that it should be stored in a cool, dry place away from other food.

    Can you make a decent-tasting belgian-style beer in this kit (specifically a tripel or flemish red ale)?
    Doesn't have to be perfect, just good enough that I can avoid spending $7 on a bottle of Westmalle or Duchesse de Bourgogne.

    Wtf are you doing man? You should always use an auto siphon to get the beer from the stock pot to the fermenter. If you introduce too much oxygen to the wort the hops my sour and spoil your brew.

    I like doing 1 gallon batches with these "jar" fermenters with the spout, instead of a glass carboy, BUT think they are charging too much ($100 !). You can get a big mouth jar with lid and spout for $40 (at most), and the extract or grain kits can be found for $16-20. Hopefully they will lower the price or allow you to buy just the fermenter. But happy that they are branching out into this "newbie home brewer" area.

    In 2004, my father and godfather tried to make their own beer (lager) in the basement. It didn't end well. They put too much of something in and woke up in the middle of the night to POW! POW! POW! They walked into the basement and saw that sixteen out of the twenty bottles of their homemade lager EXPLODED! Beer was EVERYWHERE! On the ceiling, the wall, and on the floor (I mean, duh). Ever since, they just buy Samuel Adams or something.

      @MadMax00215 Рік тому

      I struggled with that when I first got started. Kept seeing the word in print and instead of pronouncing it like "word" I said wOrT. I then kind of bastardized my pronunciation of it as a combo of the two. Like woert for a while. Took me a long time to train my brain, so to speak, and say wert. 👍

  • @GlebMichal
    @GlebMichal Рік тому

    You don't have to aerate wort before or after adding yeast. It's a misconception. Yeast can start fermenting and multiplying just fine without oxygen. BTW the wort will be sufficiently oxygenated automatically after cooling due to atmospheric pressure.

    • @Bobotrucker
      @Bobotrucker 10 місяців тому

      Same with wine, I never aerate and the yeast seem to figure out what to do every time..I do premix my yeast in some warm water though instead of just dumping it in.. probably do the same for the beer
