- A ball-shaped robot called LEV-2 ("Lunar Exploration Vehicle-2") also
known as SORA-Q, captured an image of the Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) after it was deployed. The lander touched down on its nose. Full Story: www.space.com/japan-slim-moon...

Beautiful and congratulations to japanese scientists love from india 🇮🇳
Any chance the two rovers could team up to push the lander over.
I was thinking the same. Give it a nudge 😂
I'm sure on the Moon it wouldn't take much. Just a little nudge................and...........there we go.
@@youtube.silenced.mimagine how cool that'd be, low gravity robots fighting
If it turns on then you probably don’t want to mess with it 😂
landed upside-down, still able to communicate, op🤩. great work engineers
It's to be designed to have a legs in all the four sides and tilt after landing to the correct position.
First high resolution close image of lunar regolith surface with dust ever taken by any country. Japan achievement is impressive.
Engine fell off before landing.
Read the actual story.
Dismal failure.
@@outlawbillionairez9780setbacks are setups for comebacks. Japan will land on the moon. And they will do it right side up
@@outlawbillionairez9780umm... engine bell(s) plainly visible in pic?
China already did it and packed some dust for home too
@@outlawbillionairez9780 It fulfilled it's mission success criteria...so I would assume that it's a success?
Beautiful 😍
there is a massive difference in the tone and texture of the foreground vs the background ,,
the only thing missing is mothra ! ! darn japanese sci-fi movie set !
but mission accomplished ! they never said it would land right side up ! !
Well, they took one hell of a picture. It's framed nicely. The yellow color... just pops there.
Looks great.
If that's all they get out of the mission... Win, in my book!
They could always say that they were able to get the moon to land on top of their rover.
If you zoom in on the gray area in the so called hills back there and take a magnifying glass you can see the structure they were actually looking at. Dont look at the photo look into the photo 😉
I wonder if they tried firing any of their guidance thrusters to try to flip it over. If there is any fuel left why not give it a try? What they hell do you have to lose?
Help me I’ve fallen and I’ve can’t get up.
😂😂😂😂😂
It’s successfully landed on the moon but upside down only.
Maybe next time, they'll use retros to control descent instead of dropping it 20 feet and hoping it doesn't bounce wrong.
I'm sorry...but that's pretty hilarious...I can't stop laughing..like my sister trying to paraller park.. 🤭😂
I love how people were already posting on the internet” Japan liner mission has failed. It made me so mad, I was like have faith in Japan
Who made the pictures btw?
The one that shows the lander were from the rover
Dont just stand there taking pictures, push me over!
There is no gps/reference/scale/lat/long.....Idk what to set my Telescope to.
Amazon prime ship...waiting on my scope....hello?!
Kind of gives a new meaning to "sticking the landing".
Absolutely amazing to see this on another world! Despite how it landed, it is still the pinnacle of human achievement.👍👍👍🧡
What about the Mars lander?
@@jacobkopp1239 definitely!👍
Looks so fake don't believe everything you here🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Pinacle" lmfao
Maybe one day they'll land a human being on it right side up lmao

Was measuring the surface gravity any part of planned experiments? Would be interesting to know. Anyone?
They Cud have Put Up Solar Panels on Atleast 2 Sides. Like Chandrayaan 3
Must've put the batteries in upside down
What hope? Assuming all the solar panels are facing the surface, what difference does it make how much sunlight is available
It's hard to see in the shadows, but solar panels are not facing the ground. Like the camera, it is oriented horizontally. If the sun shines from the west in the future, there is a possibility of charging.
This is what happens when a country pulls all the resources together for a common cause Godspeed, Japan
Nonsense
Someone leave out a few lines of code in that landing program? Hmmm….
❤💯
Still better than Luna-25.
no luna or anything were on the moon...
@@smalcerz01 Im sorry but being dumb at that point is kinda sad

55 years...so long , why never even 1 rover send back to " APOLLO LANDING SITE " ???
That's what thrusters are made to cure :-D
Lander should have had Wider Legs to land correctly..?🤔
SLIM lander landing tecnique is pretty strange, it wanted to land on it's side
Bring back some rocks
Drinking and landing lunar modules is not suggested...
Sure it did.
i don't know the decision to come sideways and land on one side and tip into place is just so odd , there had to be a better option than that
SPACE IS HARD !!! DON'T BE DISCOREDGED @JAXA!
OMG the facts are fantasy 😖 I just can't take another Children's moon story
Lawn dart.
For a long time, it will probably be talked about not as the fifth country to successfully land a probe on the moon, but as the first country to land a probe upside down on the lunar surface.

So, who took the photo?
The lander had rovers on it, the rovers detached seconds before the landing, so that's one of the rovers that took the photo.
Geez just can’t fix stupid
The discrepancy was something NASA did not want us to hear 😂.
Japan was set up to prevent NASA from making mistakes beforehand 😂.

No worries. A little moon dust and wind will tip it back onto its natural center of gravity, and all will be good again. Just wait.
This landing position wasn't that problematic at all
Always got have something blurred out in moon pictures 🤔🤔🤔
There should be an American flag up there.. right? 😅😅
Or... It landed in a different part of the Moon
Fakery at it best I say 😆😆😆😆
lol. !!!!! It was looted by the George Floyd crowd.
@@bringbacktheoldnormal1614 The previous reply explained it all. It was in a different place. It's like asking me if I should be able to see Paris from London. Not to mention that there are something called hills and craters
You think NASA not only landed on the moon but got all the men back safely with 1960s technology? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I can't believe anyone still believes that bat shit 🤣
ले सर के बल गिरा लैंडर
So we are told, so we are to believe. The recording device was deployed without being switched on, had it been we would have seen it deployed. Why not switch it on. The thing on the screen looked like a piece of junk
I'm open minded but also how in the hell were they successful in deployment of the drone when it wasn't designed to upside-down? What are the odds of that working out and it getting this pic??
It's like they added the pink pixels to convince.
@@ziggylycans Do you mean the two rovers? They are LEV-1 and LEV-2. They were deployed by ejecting them to the ground seconds before landing. They can maneouver independently. Also, a drone wouldn't work as the moon doesn't have an atmosphere for propellers to work.
@@ziggylycans Well put. It just does not come across as right, and as you say the drone should not, could not have been deployed, and the machine it is looking at appears damaged where it should not be damaged, on the side

The lander is made to land by side, that's why it looks kinda diferrent. Now the thing is that it landed on the wrong side so solars panels aren't receiving any power, but thanks to time the sun changed places days later and so, the battery were powered back
Still saying poor design must take in account of landing wrong side up which it did
