I realised (before I'd ever watched The Office) that guys usually grew out of falling in love with TV characters by the time they were into their twenties. Pam was the one character that adults fell in love with, and my theory is that it was because she was around long enough with enough evolution (and flaws) to come across as a real, sympathetic person rather than an archetype made up of a bunch of character traits.

We knew from the start that Jim and Pam would flourish into a meaningfully wholesome couple. Hence the ending scene of Diversity Day ;)
Pam had the best character development of the show in my opinion.
She went from being a shy, quiet, insecure person who let everyone walk all over her because she was in a verbally abusive and controlling relationship. To an independent, confident, happy person who discovered her worth when she finally got into a healthy relationship with Jim.
That just shows how much the people you are around affect the way you act, and shows how much coming out of a toxic relationship and going into a healthy one can completely change you as a person.

I love how pam went from a lady just trying to do her job as a receptionist and not get involved with Michaels's shenanigans to being Jim's partner in crime and pulling office pranks on Dwight and laughing at Michael's jokes and skits. Jenna Fischer is probably the best actress I have seen...she is totally natural especially playing Pam.
Her reaction to the payoff of the gaydar prank on Dwight (from Jim at the other branch) is an amazing bit of acting especially (unfortunately not in this compilation).
Yeah, she's real. As real as an actor can be when playing a fictional character, her skills are truly impressive.

@Matt Ford you clearly have a problem with jenna / pam lmaoo. If you watch their interviews and behind the scenes you'd notice jenna is different from pam. ofc you won't see it bc you're biased.
She’s really excellent and underrated
Pam's my fav character mainly because she had such a great character development than anyone in the show in my opinion. I remember Michael saying in Women's Appreciation episode that he wished for Pam to gain more courage, and she did. She confessed how she feels about everyone in the office and Jim in the Beach Games episode. Then there was a scene where she says that she has become fully corrupted, being an office administrator. I don't know why people hate her especially on season 9.
