Topps Living uses the 1953 topps card design. Famous for being the inception of hand painted cards for topps.

Hello David it's your UFC card viewer/buddy changed my UA-cam name to my eBay name ironically enough to your topic today🤣 I sell UFC on eBay but as a collector I sell how I would want to be treated as a buyer. I'm overly harsh on my condition, very conscious on secure shipping. I keep it hobby over profit. And I do this not only because it's right, but because I was duped by mean sellers. Lol I never want a buyer to have a bad experience with me. I want them to have a happy hobby😉. Great video as always. Happy thanksgiving!!!

A seller canceled my winning bid and immediately relisted the card because he didn't like the sell price. I can't even leave feedback in this situation.

The digital card thing happened to me. Saw a Yastrzemski relic card for $0.99. I was thinking this is too good to be true. Make sure you read the listing before you buy.

The "Rookie" Moniker and the "Multiple Cards Shown" are Caveat Emptor issues with the buyers. It's poor practice to sellers to mislead, but it's very gray (or is it grey) with the use of "Rookie" because even with Topps Baseball, there's the 1st card release by Bowman, a chronological rookie by baseball card former standards (might be an XRC, extended rookie card) then a release in a MLB uniform, then the actually rookie season and then there's the cards that have the "RC" logo all cards having different release dates/years. So, it's more important for the seller to put the release year and card brand name as the factual data.
As for showing multiple cards, it's just as lame as sellers who just post 1 photo of the front of the card, when eBay gives you 25 photo opportunities to show the front, back and any granular details to show close ups of the sides, corners and any damages. When a seller is lazy and puts a bunch of cards in a photo or has low res pictures, it's on them in terms of not many will bid or buy, it's crappy advertising of your products you're selling. It's in the best interest to not obscure or omit any visible damages to a collectible. You'll just get complaints, negative feedback, requests for refunds and hassles.
The "RP" (Reprint) is subjective, but if you put the year of release and it's an authentic reprint, such as an anniversary reprint edition, to differentiate it from the original is okay.
What I hate / don't like are these "CUSTOM" Cards which are homemade unlicensed cards. The old "Brorders" of the late 1980's early 1990's has become easier to make and print these days. There should be truth in advertising and a ceiling to what's charged, much as with those "Replica Autograph" cards too. The custom card market has become a lot more prevalent with these creators of "art / design" cards they make 1/1/'s of and sell for hundreds if not thousands of dollars.
There's an adage in direct response marketing (direct to consumer) by entrepreneurs... "You Only to Keep the Money You Can Keep" - referring to "Refunds" - So, sellers who are deceptive ultimately get returns/refunds (and eBay is legendary for siding with buyers for almost any reason, even unreasonable or fraudulent ones). Buyers will report sellers of unlicensed material in retribution as well, causing delisting and even certain IP owners will independently pursue sellers of unlicensed / unauthorized material for profiteering illegally off of their IP with cease and desist legal action.
I hate DIGITAL CARDS and it's often confusing to many collectors, so eBay should actually mandate when listed, the listing not only has "Digital" in the title but the font should be bold and in a different color. But again, I feel Caveat Emptor, "Let the Buyer Beware" and the onus is on the buyer to read the details.
The Shipping issues. I don't mind anything with "full disclosure" of the rate, "it is what it is" and we make decisions based on the price listed, sales tax and shipping costs as the "all in" total.
What I don't like about shipping is if the packaging is amateur and lackluster, especially if you pay a high rate and it's a poor job. I'm not so upset about the lack of speed to ship out, as many sellers are doing side hustling so may only ship out once a week. PWE is for junk card collectors.
I actually dislike "Free Shipping" because it usually results in the shoddiest of packaging to save the sellers on overhead expenses. You get the lame PWE, or Graded Cards in an envelope or bubble wrap (card sellers are idiots who use bubble wrap along and not rigid unbendable support, as bubble wrap protects in a minor way, from impact damage, but is very flexible and easy to damage most cards. I'm willing to pay to protect a card I want whether it's a $1 card or $1,000 card. I acknowledge "shipping should be at the expense of the buyer" and is an overhead line item of a seller (and eBay also charges them like 15% for the shipping revenue, so in fact if a seller slightly overcharges from actual shipping cost, you factor that and shipping materials and it's fair enough to me as well)

Thank you very much for sharing this! Let me know if you’d ever like to write something like this for our Happy Hobby Sports Cards newsletter.

I agree with you, eBay can be tricky. It’s just tough to only buy in person sometimes. I’m sure there’s a big fat list of card show guys and how they can scam you, too. Haha Thanks for watching!

Pretty much everything you listed the buyer will win an INAD claim on Ebay. Also when you search by price it adds cost plus shipping.

    • @DavidGonos

Even if it’s a claim win, it’s a huge pain in the butt IMO.

I started selling some cards a few months back to help supplement my income. As a seller a lot of the buyers want to haggle on price for a $5 or less card. My God this is annoying. If it's less than $10 and you need to haggle you shouldn't be buying on eBay. People want to haggle 50% off of a $4 card. Anyone that does this with me I auto ban them from buying from me.

    • @JamieBrown-p1g

Haggling? Do you have the Best Offer option on? Or you mean people message you about it. If it’s Best Offer, I feel like you’re asking for it. But if it’s just a BIN listing, then yeah, haggling for cards like that is ridiculous! Thanks for watching and commenting!
