Maybe you can have a chapter about how they get the prices on short prints and super short prints. 1/1, 1/10, 1/25 and so on and so on. It is horrible to charge high prices on some of these cards. Especially the new cards. Collecting cards used to be for kids and the adults took it over. Great video Mr David Gonos. Have a good Tuesday to you and until your next video ✌️ Mr David Gonos.
Man, there are SO many things. The mass quantity of graded Wemby's, the rise (and fall of breakers?), x-ray machines scanning packs, card trimming vintage cards (some famous known trimmer released a how-to), the craziness of numbered parallels, and now my finger is tired 😂
Topps and UD didn’t opt to compete for nba license in 2009. That starter the license wars. Would love to help fill in the history. Crazy few years. Love it.
The impact of social media on card collecting. Also, the impact of online stores (eBay, Dave and Adam's, etc) on expanding the availability of cards and the hobby #TheHobbyist
The “he who can’t be stomached” REALLY showed the gamble of prospecting the next great player. It’s almost a black Tuesday for THAT GUY collectors. Who’s up next?? Is it the oriole holiday or is he just hyped. His cards haven’t become a bargain yet. Stick with NOLAN RYAN Y’ALL!! #happyhobby Stud Fieldmouse OUT 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Man, I look forward to this! At first blush, I can’t think of any major things that you left off, but I’ll see if I can come up with any. You certainly mentioned it, but I think one could write nearly a whole book on the hobby going to the moon during the pandemic, and then the crash afterwards. Anyway, great idea!
oh yeah we can"t forget being suckered by Don West! we have a gem mint Barry Bonds rookie card!!!! get on it now before we sellout. yep late night cable was fun the home shopping network was always there for you. he would hype up classic cards because they were partners but the cards were worthless but we bought the hype from Don West. it was funny when he would drop the cards and ding them, but he would play it off. R.I.P Don West you were a great pitch man and i miss you
How about chapter on the wide variety of different sports that are available in cards now, from the UFC in 2009 all the way to bowling cards, Olympic cards, theres a card for everything and everyone now, does that effect the market of the big 3? Great video David, have a great vacation!!
How about a chapter on pitchers cards. Has Paul Skenes redefined the position and made them collectable again or is he a one off? I think I know the answer already, but it will be interesting to watch.
great video Dave! but here's a couple Shaq fever in 1993 remember classic had the rights to his rookie cards so you had to wait until mid season bye then he was tearing up the nba. also the super bowl trophy card and santa claus chase in 1989 pro - set . people had metal detectors trying to find the trophy card. David Robinson hoops rookie was big and the best was the F-face card if you had that card you showed it off to your friends.and speaking of Wander, remember in 1992 Brien Taylor i think topps had an autographed gold card everyone wanted then he became a bust. both he and Wander are why prospecting are a roll of the dice. the funny thing is that both GOATS Jordan and Brady were not sort after in the early years. Brady i kind of understand he was a back up in 2000, but Jordan baseball was king at the time and topps stopped in 1982 but even 1986 fleer was cold until about 89 of 91. i remember about 1988 i got that 1986 set at a flea martket for 12 bucks with the stickers because baseball was bigger than basketball. i wish i had got a couple back than knowing what i know now.
Yeah, his 50/50-ness and a WS in his first year with the Dodgers - this is all just frosting on a career that has already greatly affected the hobby for sure.
Oh also the matter of card breaks and its impact, positive and negative.

The photography of the cards, the art of framing pics for cards....also card backs and their art!
how could you leave off the birth of the Happy Hobby David Gonos UA-cam channel 😁
totally needs an entire chapter written about this. Well done for this reply!
@ yes! I love the agreement we have here! Make a chapter!

I mean, of course, singles, as box prices went nuclear and stayed nuclear, as we all know.

A book about the history of card collecting should include its own premium quality, limited edition baseball card(s) with each copy! 😎

Of course the biggest thing that has happened is Shohei Ohtani making history

Which is your favorite Disney Theme Park? my is Hollywood Studios. I live in Orlando. Will you be at any of the future card shows?
A chapter on who defines mint condition?
Thanks Douglas!
