Nissan hit a triple with this new Kicks. A hybrid would have made it a homerun.
I like this more than the Juke's and Kick's that came before it, and I very much prefer this 2.0L engine from the Sentra to the 1.5L Turbo 3 cylinder found in the Rogue.

The engine in the Kicks, is said to be the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder that is also being used in the Sentra.
Unlike the Juke, you can use regular unleaded, unlike the Juke, which required premium fuel.
Waiting for this 2025 model to show up at my local dealership here in Hawaii.
Was told that it might be in stock and on the dealership lot sometime in either late September or early October.
It also allegedly has a 12 gallon fuel tank, and a fuel filler door that locks and unlocks when you lock and unlock the vehicle.
I understand inflation and everything, but $31K is a bit rich for a subcompact.
Bro it has awd so it's good not overpriced like rav4.
$31k is maxed out, you can get the SR starting at around $28k and the SV around $26k. You could even get the S starting at around $23,000 but I wouldn’t because the base model doesn’t have Apple CarPlay
@andrewsnyder5300 I mean 31k is still a steal for this because it's awd but people who live where it doesn't snow can buy fwd Or u can get sv awd for less than 30k. I am happy the kicks now has awd the older models didn't have it.
The dollar isn't worth what it did 5-6 years ago. That's the issue thing will cost slightly more.
@@AlexAlex-gs1xh AWD in a car this small and light is mostly useless on slippery paved roads. You are much better off with a $600 set of good winter rubber and FWD.
I yes to ditch the CVT but I have to say Nissan does a good job on it! ! ! That's on my 2020 Nissan Sentra SR.! ! ! 😊
People just used to a higher horsepower level because back in 1999 Camry only has like 130 horsepower and the ones before that had less than people never said they are under powered and in Europe there's a whole bunch of cars that are probably like 100 horsepower Max
I drive a 2011 Juke with the 1.6L I4 Turbo, and I am disappointed that they haven't carried forward the turbo throughout the new Kicks vehicles. I feel like that could really save them as a model

@@magnoliap5824Nissan is better, they have 9AT. Subaru sucks. They only have CVT😂 But in fact CVT fits well to such compact cars. Good fuel consumption, transmission size, and nobody cares about the driving dynamics.

CVT is disliked by me but preferred by my wife.
When announced the price was suppsed to be top of $27,000. At over 31 it won't be the run away success people had in mind.
The base model starts at 21,830. That’s without dealer markup fees of course 😅

I'm surprised it doesn't have power seats for this trim. People keep saying $30K is affordable, but that's not for me. I know people would argue about inflation, but by the time you you added taxes, fees, you're looking at at $33 - 34k.
Nissan needs to sell a manual transmission version of the Kicks in the USA
I think you exaggerating just a little bit on the slowness of the earlier model Nissan Kicks. Yes it’s a little slow but it’s not as bad as what you are saying. I have a 2021 Nissan Kicks SV and I love it!
Literally just test drove this car. Nice car for the money and the fit and finish but the pricing obviously since it just came out is nowhere near where I wanted it to be. I’ll hold off and wait until there’s some incentives.
Sorry but the pricing is justified look at the features and it's awd FYI no awd car can cost 20k dollars if u are so picky in price buy the base awd u can get that for quite cheap.
@@AlexAlex-gs1xh not the overall price , what they want down and to get it to a $500 payment . That’s what I meant . It’s just not a good time to get a car or any major expense unless you can’t do math and like p$sing money away lol. That’s why I’ll wait till incentives come out for it . Hopefully end of year and hopefully economically speaking there’s major change so rates go down after November … 🤞🏻

@fifasf3379 well what you just said has nothing to do with the car. It's strictly you can't afford to buy it. There aren't going to be incentives on a new model year car. You need to look at a cheaper car. Maybe a kia soul.
I didn’t know that the kicks got a redesign! But most of them aren’t in terrible shape like the Nissan Leaf. I thought I wouldn't kick the Nissan outside the dealer if I were me.
Great review Ben! 2025 Kicks has 19 more horsepower than the 2024 Kicks but it also weighs 300 to 400 pounds more (depending on trim and whether you have AWD) so it's not much faster unfortunately. While having Bose head rests for both the driver & front passenger is nice, I would rather take that 31k and buy a brand new 2025 Mazda CX-5 Select AWD which bigger, faster, and has a traditional 6 speed automatic (no CVT)
At $31k, there are so many better options out there. Mazda CX-5 is great choice, also Kia Sportage LX and Chevy Equinox LT priced the same as this Kicks SR - even slightly less.

This car has the right price, the right looks, the right packaging to do very well. However, that CVT is the deal breaker for me. I've seen a 2022 with 50K miles and the transmission is shot. Admit they probably didn't do the 30K mile fluid service, but imho a transmission that brittle is not the one for me. If they put any garden variety torque converter transmission in this (or Versa or Sentra) it may raise the price $500 but it would be a *vastly* better vehicle.
Best car in its segment i would buy this over a rav 4 any day and just upgrade after 5yrs
Kicks is a sub-compact so it competes with the Corolla Cross, not RAV4.
@Eiran423 I know that but rav 4 is too overpriced 36k for no features base model is too in 31k you are getting more features than any rav 4 or corolla cross model. Corolla cross is the worse car ever built by toyota.
That's why I am looking at the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox AWD With the 8 Speed Automatic Transmission ! ! ! ! 😅 😊
A bit disappointed that even this top SR Trim doesn't have a driver's power seat especially for $31K. The price point on the top trim is a bit high in my opinion and just 141HP. The Crosstrek Sport for the same price is 182HP w/ standard Symmetrical AWD.
My Corolla Cross XLE is about $500 cheaper and has most of the same features with a few added and missing compared to this Kicks. Even if people don’t like it, fully loaded subcompact SUVs can in fact get into the low 30k range. Thing is I don’t know if I could trust Nissan long term. Before I got my 2024 Corolla Cross, my 2022 Sentra was a lemon with a defective battery that died 5 times in one year, and it died the first time only 3 weeks after driving it off the lot

Seems like car manufacturers copy so many elements from each other, like they're afraid they're going to miss out or something...in this case, its rims similar to some kia ev9 ones...numerous other examples

Rav 4 has 2.5 litre , natural aspirated engine .AWD.
So it is overpriced, no features amd small screen. This also has awd.

I like this new Kicks but the Nissan CVT is a NO for me and for that reason the Kicks can go and Kick Rocks
Sorry, there are better choices out there for 31k with more power. Mazda, Honda, Toyota and even KIA and Subaru for that matter.

The pricing for the Kicks is inline with other subcompact competitors. It’s not overpriced by any means .
2025 Nissan Kicks 2.0 makes 141hp
1993 Acura Integra 1.8 made 140hp

Corolla cross is very superior IMO, this car isn’t impressing for me and yes the tech might be better in this but at least the CVT in the Corolla cross won’t break the moment they drive of the lot.
