- On June 5, 2023, we lost a teammate, friend, daughter, sister, and incredible fighter in Sherry Ann Schmidt.
To honor her life, the local MMA community and friends of Sherry put together a seminar hosted by some of the best coaches in the area at Beacon MMA in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Thank you to all of the coaches and attendees, friends and family, and all who have supported Sherry.
We love you, Sherry 🙏🖤 - Спорт

She died in a tragic car accident for those who are wondering
@@englewoodmusic What kind of question is that? Jesus christ
Its obvious they've never dealt with death before. Gonna be a tough pill to swallow when they do.
She was driving home late from work and got hit by a tractor trailer. Was it her fault? Well, everytime you get behind the wheel you take on that risk, so I'm not sure what you're even asking, Charles.
@@Franjolos That coward deleted his comment lmao
Thanks for explaining the situation. Sad stuff.
Damn. GGs
Definitely hurts having to talk about someone in past tense. Way too young, thank you for sharing your memories and reminding us how important the little moments are.
Extremely sorry to hear this, my condolences to all of you. May she rest in peace
Sorry for your Loss Blessings from New Zealand.
Damn, that's sad. My condolences to all affected and to you Shane. She made you all stronger 💪.
May she rest in peace. It's already painful enough to lose someone close but it's so much more shocking when they're young and it comes so unexpectedly. I know the pain. You made a beautiul hommage here.
Very sorry for your loss and condolences to her friends and family.
My condolences; may you find a way to live with the loss! *hugs*

I train in one of the gyms that she used to go to. Never spoke to her but she was loved. RIP.
Only the truly great die young she must have really been something special
Sorry for your loss. 💪
Sorry for your lost pray 🙏
What's up with all the negativity in this comment section? There are ways to ask questions without disrespect, and unnecessary slander isn't welcome on this channel or in the Martial Arts community in general. R.I.P. to your teammate Sherry, sending my condolences to everyone affected by her passing.
The guy that said ban women’s sports probably has no maturity and thinks its funny to piss people off
I appreciate that. I assume it's younger folks who haven't dealt with death yet, or they've never been taught basic manners.
Definitely feels like a kick in the mouth when I share a video celebrating her life and giving much of the information shared at the seminar away for free, though.
Tempted to shut the entire channel down for good, though, not gonna lie. It's becoming more and more rare to receive any appreciation for the content I share.
Times and people are changing. Not sure I want to share combat advice with this generation of slobs.
@@fighttipsI always appreciate your fighting advice on this channel.. it’s such a shame that the negative people take away what’s good from the good people. And my condolences 💐
@@fighttips Damn that’s a shame. I personally found your videos to be very helpful
@@fighttipsPlease ignore these types of people, the tips and info you share are full of quality and value, without them many people's fight game would not be the same including mine. You're an amazing source of information and a great teacher, a coach that's always there. So please reconsider this heavily as you're chanel is amazing and the positive impact you've caused and will continue to cause should remain.
🙏🙏🙏
RIP 🙏 Didn't knew her but I felt the love you guys had for her.
Respect his tribute in the comments, this is not a media report, he lost his friend.
R.I.P.
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Ugh... man... Just now seeing this. So sad.
My condolences to fightTIPS and the friends & family of Sherry Ann Schmidt....and everyone from Beacon MMA who knew her. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Rest in peace.
R.I.P. to this warrior
We lost Iuri Lapicus to a road incident too earlier this year.
Condolences Shane.
Sad story… RIP. Btw great coaching team. Not one goofy technique was shown. I would sign up for sure
Sorry for your loss, the community's loss. Ignore the NPCs Shane. We appreciate your dedication and effort.
Hi Shane. I know it's tough dealing with a loss of a friend. And also with the comments here being negative from stupid people. Just want to share with you, for every negative remark and disrespectful comment, there are 10x more people who appreciate your work and everything you do. You have an impact to so much more people here with what you do as a coach and content creator. Just focus on those people. It's not worth shutting down the whole channel just for the few people who don't know how to show respect. We always look forward to what you do next, and I guarantee you the few people here who are disrespectful are not your real followers.
So sad 😭😭😭
Shane ignore the idiots man, sorry for your loss. Life is truly precious.
Appreciate that, buddy. It just bugs me that if her family looks at the comment section, they'll see all this negativity Not my style, but it might be better to just delete them all.
It's painful seeing my favorite UA-camr lose a good friend. I am also really sorry about all the hatred you're getting. I would be very sad if you shut down your UA-cam channel. I hope everything gets better for you. And if you don't mind telling me, how did Sherry die?
She was in a car accident involved with 3 other vehicles on her way home from work.
Wow that's so sad 😢
If we are fighter, and go to gym, what kind of training we can do in the gym? Pls make content of it
Hey if you're looking for exact exercises and curriculum to follow, you have to join MAGNVS.io -- I have to draw the line on what information I give away for free, but on MAGNVS I am completly open my playbook, along with other world-class coaches (i.e. Coach K of CSA Gym, plus a new course from Bryan Popejoy of Boxing Works coming in August)
At what age are men in their prime/peak in street fighting/combat sports?
Are men strongest and best aged 19? Do men decline in strength and speed in their 30's?
I'd say 28-32 range, usually peak of fitness as they've had at least a decade to build their physique while also building a lot of experience.
@sbot8158
What if a guy aged 31 to 38 has never trained throughout his life?
@@maxpaws3977 If we are talking about all time peak performance for an athlete; I would agree that the 25/35 age range is prime time.
If we are talking about personal performance for an average man(no physical activity), I would say that 15/25 age range has the best ratio of natural power, speed and agility (if you're healthy); the 25/35 age range is the most impactful period since it's the last time frame when you can start a change and still reach near your peak in those 3 categories. I would say that after 40, you can still become a beast but it would take more work ethic, I'm not talking roids but things like injury prevention and recovery should be a priority if you want to do this for a long time. Also past a certain age it's really hard to keep a nice ratio.
Peaking for average people is really subjective, it depends on too much factors, as opposed to a young athlete who is already doing all the right things to be at peak performance at every step of his growth. Also, your mental might as well be as important as your body condition if you expect to reach your peak. Ask yourself, was I eating good during my growth, was I injury free, is my diet now good, kids to care about, do i walk a lot, stairs or elevator, do you work a corpo jod behind a desk or are you lifting motor parts in a garage for the last 10 years, because if it's the case you had some kind of physical activity. You see all these things have an impact on an average man.
I was at my "peak" 17/23yo (basketball), studied sports science, got injured and depressed. Now I'm 30, back in sports since 1 year, and I can tell I'm gonna be better than before but not for long if I choose basketball, I just don't see myself dunking "safely" after the 40's; but if i choose boxing/mma I can be a beast for longer since I have no desire to compete and have done a lot of martial arts before.
Long story short, don't think about peaking if you're not an athlete, just do it because in most cases you will surpass your expectations of yourself. ;)
@@maxpaws3977 It's never too late to start. You still have plenty energy and can build a great physique even within those years. Unless you're very talented Success at MMA will be more difficult but no reason not to go train anyway.I'd say the decline in strength/speed really starts to show past 36.
Rest in peace. What was the cause of her death ?
She was in a car accident involved with 3 other vehicles on her way home from work.
@@fighttips Thank you, sorry to hear that. May his memories lives in you and her friends.
Well how did she die
Car accident, not sure why that’s relevant when they are just paying respect to a friend and team mate
"Well" it was a 4-car accident. Does that make it more or less sad that we lost our teammate?
🤡🤡
I spent the first 2 minutes asking a lot of questions😅. I think next time it's better to start telling people who she is and what happened. No disrespect god bless her soul but she's not well known and the fact that you're making a video about her means that you want people to know her story.
So if you read the first sentence of the very first frame, you'll see she was our teammate...
@@fighttips i understand but I didn't realize she passed till later
You mean you didn't read the rest of the sentence? It took you more time to comment than it would have to read it.
My condolences to all who knew her
I think I seen one of her fight on UA-cam she was good
@fighttips : How did this woman die?
At no point in this video was the reason or cause of this tragedy explained at all.
First of all: it's none of your business. Second, why does it matter HOW she died?
As mentioned in the title, this is a celebration of her life, not an explanation of her death.
What on earth has happened to everyone's common sense and manners? Ffs.
@@fighttips : Because it is an important piece of information to the whole incident. You clearly have never worked in EMS, the Military, Law Enforcement, Security, Fire Fighting, etc.
@@fighttips : It's all good though, you've already said she died in an automotive accident in someone else's comment.
Nope, it is not important, nor is it relevant to discuss how she died in a video where we want to celebrate her life.
You're just nosey and want to pass judgement.
Go away.
@@fighttipss a trained Muay Thai guy and triathlete for 21 years, My condolences to your teammate's family and you. Unfortunately, some people focus on the wrong intention about this video. I hope you stay positive and strong Shane!
