A cultivator requires 100 water and with the right plant, you can generate about 3 titanium per second, plus other resources. You can also increase the amount of titanic harvested from the cultivator by scanning.
Yep and you can scan cultivated plants as well.
Forgot to mention that equipping 4 of the max level maintenance tools lets you build expensive buildings at nearly a 50% discount.
Its actually closer to a third, and that includes Ai cores for the towers. It says zero, but about every third tower it costs 1.
As a general tip; you can set up your essential infrastructure (research, armoury, tower ammo, storage) at an outpost which means your main / rift gate) base can be much more compact.
you forgot, or didn't notice: you can put upgrade modules in those large artillery towers. i am sure there some interesting options for that
Harvesting plants is a great way to get unlimited resources. And the only reliable way to get those unmineable ones.
Once you try the swarm missile, give it homing and rate of fire upgrades and it turns into Macross missile massacre. Great fun! Just watch the ammo levels.
Gas is useless early game, because it is a triple phase setup, by the time you can afford lvl 3 you should be on nuclear or entry level fusion. It is a pain to build for new players, ratios are inconsistent until all level 3. Depending on the RNG and map layout, it might be completely none viable for your main base and most outposts due to lacking the vents/placement.
Magma is basically free though, simple setup and the magma outpost is going to be stuffed with things anyway so it isnt a concern about space or economics. Magma will make you bank at 0 cost at a greater effect than Geothermal. I usually just put Geothermal plants on my outer mining stations or gun nests, it also produces mud which can be useful. Nuclear is easy to fuel because it is of a similar tier in tech as cultivation and harvesting, so thats basically free if you've been scanning. Fusion ratio for conversions versus a similarly complicated gas setup is definitely worth it and will save a lot of space.
Dont ignore solar or wind with specific outpost parameters, 150 or 200% on solar and/or wind outside of a tropical planet is extremely efficient for getting passive iron/carb plants up. I dropped dozens of them on a desert planet because of a near constant 200%.
You keep saying this planet when referring to different base locations, the setting is all on one planet your simply teleporting to different areas on the planet.
Yes! Him and some other uploaders, it's so annoying!
I agree that Supercharged plasma artillery is awesome. Don't overlook the regular plasma shields, though. They seem to stack incorrectly. From my testing 1 level 3 shield generator adds 1000 shield in an aoe. But 2 will add at least 3000 (I sometimes see 5000).
I use them to protect my 100 health pipes from meteor showers. 10 plasma /sec let's you spam them pretty much everywhere. But no undergrounds makes it hard (not impossible) to run both to all your outposts.
The problem with tanks for storage for Artillery is that the artillery consume the plasma even when not firing. So it is good in case your pipe is broken, but it doesn't let you stockpile and have more turrets than your can handle.
(You could get creative and disable them when there isn't an attack wave and enable them, but enabling is 2 clicks per tower. It is probably faster to build them from scratch... )
Thanks for this. I really like to see what I have to look forward to. I can't play games for a living. So I appreciate the tips for when I find the time. Can't wait for the plasma turrets. But my research has a fair way to go before that. 🍻
Nilaus, you can silence the " tips" the robot and the Ashley talking
Cultivating is the most over powered thing in the game.
there's a reason they don't let you use it properly in survival mode.
With as many water sources as you have you'll never need a Synthesizer
There is also a shield build that uses regular plasma directly and gives all structures extra shielding in range. I've setup my main base with plasma running in a ring around the entire base and then convert the supercharged for heavy artillery. It seems to be a pretty good idea to keep the base on the main map compact since you get the strongest attacks there.
now rebuild the fusion power plants with 4 times maintenance mods, and look at the price!
Would be interesting to see a video about which turrets are worth researching/building and what the differences between them all are.
This was very helpful. I enjoy the mix of playthrough but also covering the "effectiveness" of the choices which is what you are known for. I'd love on the weapons and maybe the towers beyond artillery :-)
So excited to see how you do a cultivator setup. I've been trying to figure it out but I just don't have the time to check out all the numbers. I spent all that time analysing all the plants to get the most yield I can but my setup is so janky
Geothermal plants generate mud -> filter it -> use some pipes -> cultivator far enough so the filter is out of range. This way it's all in a single concise line.
If someone's wondering about his radar coverage/hive/giant creature spawn comment, no it is not true.
Even if you cover 100% of the map with radars (as I do, given I built one long defense wall on the map edge to make a megabase) these things will still spawn. Likely because they are events, rather than random spawns.
Comets will also still drop and can sometimes delete buildings on impact.
Really cool video! Just as a heads up, if the comments on current events bother you you can disable them in the gameplay options. Its a separate option, you don't have to mute voice lines completely this way.
I love the “this is how I build defenses nowadays” comment
An idea for a future guide episode like this one.... the upgrades/mods/abilities available for our mech. How to unlock, tier rankings of them, when to use certain upgrades, differences, your best setup, etc....
Wow.. i must be exploring way too much.. and just being slow as piss :p I'm on day 128 and dont have all resources available yet
Guess it doesnt help that im figuring it all out as i go, and sometimes just idle around waiting for research
feels close-by to oxygen not included - spaced out
I been trying to figure out what wrong with my gas setup. I have a green shield icon about my GAS PLANT. Not sure if ok or not. Sometimes it will spark, and goback to the Green Sheild Icon
Hm maybe forward strong points are the way to go.
More please.
Wo ist 8?
You should have called this episode something like "#08 + #09". The majority of people won't watch the first 30 seconds of this video, where you explain what happened to episode 8. It's also very misleading if someone watches the playlist in the future and wonders where episode 8 is.
Also...do you plan on showing the Cultivator and Harvester buildings in a future episode? Farming is pretty much the endgame with it giving unlimited resources.
this fov makes me dizzy, how do people play this game???
The same way games like Path of Exile, Diablo and many others are played. It's a pretty common camera style for ARPGs mostly.
@@Druark nah, its super low. I can play poe or grim dawn just fine, this is terrible
You open the dev console and enable a much more zoom capability :D
Where's #8?
das rite
Other great use for plasma is shields.
