This is absolutely RIPE for 40k-themed mods.
By the emperor am I looking forward to the glorious carnage, brother.
I love how lush and colourful and detailed the environment is in this game
Only to be slashed and destroyed haha
At last, you have put the Nilaus touch in the game. The structured look of the regular paths, that was needed ;) Thank you!
How do you use different colored floors?
how did you color the smaller yellow tiles for the path?
Definitely would like to know that too :(
You get it as a drop from one of the 'loot trees' that you can mine out in the wild. Still waiting for my yellow brick road to drop...
Thank you for turning down the dialog volume :)
Also the colored pavement makes such a big difference, the base is looking so crisp now :)
This game has really made me appreciate silent protagonists like in factorio or subnautica... A skip dialogue button would be nice, especially for people doing hardmode reruns.
I like how much there is to research though and the multiple locations seem really cool. I wonder if there will be mod support eventualy, if it's anything like there is for factorio this could get crazy.
This is pretty much confirmed by the devs, so you can safely expect mods coming out ^^
I knew City Blocks would be making an appearance soon…… :p
Love this series!
Of course 😉
I would love to know how you got the yellow colored paths. I just can't figure out how to unlock that. It is certainly not in the tech tree.
I would like to know it too
The game chats a bit too much I almost rage quit during a long lecture about environmentalism , great so now make me feel bad about torching all these creatures , I hope it doesnt do that a lot , I even find the narrator in dsp annoying :)
You can turn off dialogue volume in the sound settings
I agree that the narration is too much in terms of quantity and too low in terms of quality
I was exploring and fighting enemies while researching stuff and they did not stop talking the whole 10 minutes (between progression dialogue and stuff like "rain is stopping" dialogue). If they were teaching me important stuff during that time I did not absorb a single thing.
I'm fine with the narration for me it adds more to the game
I think that covers all dialogue, including attack/damage messages.
Ideally there needs to be a Flavour Chat toggle to mute the chatter while keeping the important notifications.
"What kind of critter?...its a dead critter.." love it🤣
Love this series. Got the game yesterday thanks for helping me find it!
I have to admit, after the early access you showed I was not too excited about this game. Much too hectic for me to enjoy.
This version however... I'll probably give it a try.
Early access only had the survival mode and not the campaign
The showcase earlier was only the super intense Survival mode. The Campaign is much more relaxed
@@Nilaus Yup. Got the game yesterday and played until 4 in the morning...
How do you get different color foundation?
How did you change the color of the tiles ???
I'm also looking for this answer
@@einerdek69 Me too
@@steviehendy5588 It's a drop from the nests apprently
@@einerdek69 thanks bud 👍
A reminder that you can build a platform beside walls so you can shoot behind cover. Also, isn't it better to upgrade buildings to higher tiers or are they locked behind tech advancements?
the question that is bugging me.. how did you change the floor colors? I can't figure it out for the life of me
You can find things like statues and colored concrete in the biter nests as loot.
@@Nilaus Thank you! I could find no Info on that at all. nests, here I come, love the look of your base btw
how did you do the coloured pavement? i only have the gray
How do you make colored ground tiles? I'm only able to select different sized tiles.
EDIT - What the hell? I've researched further than this and still haven't seen the other floor types that showed in the lights and floors menu.
Did u figure it.
Even I have the same question.
Not able to find coloured ones.
@@jayanthmdn8946 - It turns out they are random rewards from some of the POI's on the map, the ones that look like mini nests. I still don't have the yellow tile, but I found the dark grey tiles and some statues. These, along with the movement modifiers (dash, jump etc) are also permanent upgrades for your player profile, but I don't know if that's duplicated on the cloud for if you restore/reinstall later.
@@ahmataevo Thx man I will try it Today.
"This is our solar farm" while still building wind turbines - I love it :D
The hammer makes a great forest clearing tool, especially if you get an area of effect mod for it. Also a fun for swarmer stomping.
This game is totally nuts so much management of multiple bases
You don't get attacked when you are at another base, which makes it a lot more manageable
This graphics style is created for OLED displays.
What's old display
Hang on, you can make coloured platforms? How does that work? I finished the game and didn't know that.
You need to find them similarly to how you find mods or special moves (jumps, etc.). I found the orange one in my first playthrough and it unlocked forever so you can use it from the start in future games.
Hail storms ruined this game for me. I got two of them in the space of like 40 minutes. Stopped playing. Fuck this bullshit. I'm not going to spend 20 out of every 30 minutes repairing every single goddamned section of wall and power infrastructure in my sprawling base individually.
How did NOBODY mention what a GOD-AWFUL mechanic the hailstorm and solar storms are during the early access portion?
Biters and solar panels. Lol. I always find your videos helpful, even if it's not Factorio. :)
i had a nice little knook in my base like where you put your energy storage, too. i put my headquarters in there and boxed it in!
i also got super lucky and found scanner turrets! probably one of the best things in the game in my opinion
is this in the campaign? if so then what r u supposed to do with the rift generator in survival? i have a very long game going and i have unlimited resources and huge bases, but made an orbital scanner and rift generator and idk what to do next.
Intergalactic portal network. Dial-up internet.
Ok, the demo they released earlier this year *absolutely* undersold the game.
Yellow brick roads ? Wizard of Oz , is that you ?!
;P
How do you paint the floor tiles? I just can't find it.
How do we unlock the yellow bricks?
I rly like the game. It's so... juicy. I mean the colors, the explosions... the colorful explosions xD Also i love how hi def the game is. Obviously i like you're style. My OCDs are at ease, mostly.
You need solar panels with a lot of energy storage. The wind turbine should be about 10-20% of your total renewable energy resources. It was a neatly constructed base.
My base for this game is a mess but I just built a nuclear reactor
I suspect you figured it out in future episodes, but each time you upgrade your headquarters, not only can you make a new comm hub/labs, but you can G/upgrade your previous ones. I think they go up to level 5. If you don't upgrade your previous research facilities, research takes much longer. You were basically researching at half speed the entire episode.
Edit: You got it before long :)
What is the ratio for accumulators vs draw? i.e. how much power storage do you need to last per -10 power? If you're using solar, as long as your accumulators can last through the night with a surplus, you don't need to overstack so much wind; when you're putting on so much wind power you have a surplus at night, you're only get 50% of your solar potential.
If you hold down the fire button for most weapons you get a charged shot. E.g. Blaster, Shotgun both charge to blue then orange delivering more powerful shots. Rocket Launcher fcharges firing more and more rockets in series. Makes the shot gun great for the cloaking aliens.
Maybe it's just me, but I wish we could zoom out a bit further. Feels super claustrophobic and you don't really get a good overview the way it is now.
If you don't want to build the steps behind your walls so you can shoot over the walls you can use the hammer to hit over the walls and it does great AOE damage, you can also take a step back and shoot over the wall with the grenade launcher without the step wall. upgrading your basic turrets is super effective, each upgrade level doubles the power usage, but it doubles the damage and firing rate so you get 4x the damage and it doesn't require more AI cores.
You seem to have missed the Cobalt deposit in the ground out where you had the mission to scan for the cobalt, if you make a little stand alone base out there it can mine that cobalt patch for you.
Upgraded walls seem to be 4x more on their life (idk the exact amount for those) so it will be very useful in the upcoming attacks.
the 2 alie buildings cultivator/harvester will let you grow/harvest plants for a continuous stream of plant biomass and you can convert that to gas for power, not sure what else you can do with it.
you can build power plants which used plants and creatures drop you gain while running around. And later you will build "forester and woodcutter" (called different of course, but it is what it is) which give you unlimited plants
Concrete slabs were added to please Nilaus. I will bet that 20 episodes in the future there is a band of solar panels on the meridian and the whol planet is concrete slabs... 😁😁😁
Feedback is keep it up!
Please turn on the damage numbers :D in that case you can see what resistant to what, and hopw much dmg you deal with each weapon.
You can charge most weapons by holding the firebutton.
Thanks for the time jumps and organization. Enjoying this series alot.
It's killing me how unsecure some corners of the main base are. Though I love the flooe tiles.
City blocks in Riftbreaker just made my day.
Is there a summary in the game that tells you what you have biult in your base?!
one of those rock mobs destroyed part of my base before i had the launcher researched.
Loving the series and the game, hope you're enjoying it too, thanks for the content!
I imagine that the chatter is much more of an issue when someone is trying to stream/record than when they're playing on their own because you have to compete with it, but it is still kind of excessive in general.
I've played some other games that had chatter/story telling voice overs often that worked really well, like Hades and Bastion, but this game is more like two NPCs that are often having an irrelevant side conversation that doesn't involve what the player is doing or the task at hand.
Like at the end there where they're talking about how Ashley lost her arm... I was like, cool story but, the base is kinda getting eaten so maybe talk about that instead? The voice acting isn't bad at all, it's just loses focus and wanders off to odd conversations too often.
29:56 - Solar farm, but weren't you building wind generators? :P
the sun is still shining on the wind turbines ;)
Loving this series and hoping for a new episode soon!
Nilaus
Is there an end or is it like factorio? I would love it to be the second :)
no idea, I assume it is a soft end like Satisfactory and Factorio
Love the look of this game
Can't wait for more.
More please.
Really love the game can’t wait when it comes out
It was released yesterday on a lot of platforms
@@Nilaus Wow, I didn't know it, I am in my midterm week, I think I will buy it next week. Love your channel
