Another thing I really liked about this interview was Tim’s focus on individual responsibility as a fighter. There’s nobody else to blame, no excuses, nobody to drop the pass or miss the shot, it’s all on you. Growing up I did tae kwon do for 7 years earning a black belt, did varsity wrestling decently well & played varsity golf since JR high. Each of those sports ultimately reinforced one another & came down to my abilities and determination which taught me a lot about myself that I’ve sadly become dulled to at my age & it’s time to sharpen and polish up that edge again.
I like this guy, he acknowledges his mistakes in life and pushes hard to better his actions to reach intended goals. Well done mate.
What an incredible conversation. I've been a fan of Tim's since back in his early UFC days, but that was purely in appreciation of his skills as a fighter. It wasn't until I'd heard him speak in longer-form interviews (I think after his controversial loss to Yoel Romero) that I discovered what an inspiring man he is. This is one of the best thruthful interviews ever! And he’s correct, I’m in my middle sixtieth year, and whether you were male or female we lived everyday in the street’s. We were left to learn to be streetwise & we learned to be mentally strong. As a young girl my sister, brother & I were loved & our parent’s were great……….And we all thanked them for making us characters who aren’t scared just vigilant & pretty wise. Amazing guy amazing interview 🙏

My favorite part is where Tim talks about what he has learned from the shame that he has felt. We grow the most from the lowest points in our lives.
Tim definitely has a boisterous persona but clearly he can back it all up where it all counts. It’s pleasantly reassuring to see him express a more mature & poignant side of himself. I think he’ll have a very bright future as a civilian/ PMC if he keeps this path.

His description of what separates useful and useless people is so narrow minded. Not everyone needs to be an action hero. The average cancer researcher probably won't stand up to an active shooter, yet they'll save several orders of magnitude more lives doing what they do best. Violence and aggression isn't for everyone, and that's fine.
But realistically what good are you if you can’t protect the ones you love.
@Capn929 I get what your saying but there is a difference between defending your loved ones from a active attack, and seeking the active shooter and taking him out or confronting the threat. Tbh most people would get there loved ones and all run towards the exit while covering them and fuck everyone else honestly. They had there whole life to get ready for the worst case. It’s not about violence or aggression but it’s being capable of being so in certain situations to either defend your family/loved one or some bystander that you see cannot defend themselves. Just doing the right thing and being capable of actually pulling through and stopping the bad guy. Simple. Nothing to do with being an “action hero” it’s called having moral and understanding as a man what you NEED to be able to do when time arises to do so.
You are correct, his world view is based on his belief. We need people like him and we need people like your thoughts. Makes the world the way it is. I will say, we need more people with his world view because the usa has gotten soft over the decades and the usa has gotten lazy. Not good, the world seems to see the weakness in the USA.
