Weidman does deserve respect though, he’s fought some murderers in Muñoz, Damien Mia, Silva twice, Machida, Belfort, Jacare, Luke Rockhold, Gegard Mousasi, Yoel Romero and Kelvin Gastelum.

At first I didn’t really like Chris Weidman but looking at his record he’s 14-4, only 4 losses. Pretty impressive.
He beat Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida, TRT Vitor Belfort, & Kelvin Gastelum.
He lost to tough opponents: Prime Luke Rockhold, PRIME Yoel Romero, Prime Gerard Mousasi, & Jacre Souza!
That’s insane! He’s been fighting nothing but high level fighters & savages. He won 4 big fights and he lost 4 big fights so to me he’s decent enough. Give him a deadly top contender fight at 205, lets see what he can do being at 35 years old.

bazz229 Chris isn't a cardio machine correct, but he's still leagues above Reyes. Reyes always gasses in the second, and Chris doesn't really gas during the second. Gas is a big part of fighting, and Weidman most certain,y has the edge in that, and wrestling. And tbh people sleep on his striking, yet he knocked Silva out, and was beating Luke until he did that stupid spin

Chris is yet to go out at LHW so cardio cannot be predicted. Especially as the guys he's fighting will be 20lbs heavier than previous opponents. I don't see Luke doing anything in the division, I'm hoping Anthony Smith gets a shot at him or even Gus(If he came out of retirement).

Weidman was a product of good timing fighting older dudes past their prime. There’s a reason he’s 1-4 in his last 5. Finally got some competition his age, and here we are.
Chael you are definitely the heavyweight champion of the world when it comes to fight predictions and analysis. Even if you're wrong, it's still very entertaining and thought provoking. Good job buddy. BTW Dan Hardy is also great at statistical analysis. The sport needs both of you.
Weidman can be a dominant force at light heavyweight but he needs to use his great grappling skills and stay away from slug fests. He needs to improve his overall strength and especially his lower body strength. He can do it but he needs to be smart in the octagon.
in was winning the rounds in the fights he lost with the exception of Mousasi, I believe. Weidman is talented. He just needs a fresh start.He needs to be motivated.

Love Weidman, but he’s making the same mistake Rockhold made in looking past a tough opponent in a bigger weight class. Reyes may have laid an egg and won the lottery in the call VS Volkan, but he’s still a top contender. I would love Chris to reinvent himself at LHW and go on a run, but looking at Jones before getting a W in the division is suicide.
difference Weidman is naturally big in bulk. and can takedown opponents. whereas luke more of on the back guy and thinks he can kickbox totally different comparisons, Weidman always has respect. Weidman is naturally a better athlete.
