U.S.A! U.S.A!
USA TCG USA! OCG has been proven worse by worlds. Maybe after this they’ll ban max c and start playing real yugioh again XD
Can't we all just call TCG Western Yu-Gi-Oh! And OCG Eastern Yu-Gi-Oh! ? I mean, the terms fit themselves like gloves.
Western influence aka Christianity + Judaism + Europeans and their colonization whatever whatever = TCG and Eastern influence aka from a westerner pov anything not western is OCG (but it'd be the different alphabets, Hinduism, xintoism, Buddhism, idk why religion is so good at delineating these wide regional cultural differences.

AND THE OCG PLAYERS DIDNT EVEN READ THEM
OCG Players read less than TCG players?!

In their defense… Kanji is hard.
Wait do they not teach Europeans that Europe was founded in 1848 by Walker Texas Ranger when he rode a horse across the Atlantic? Like, EU stands for "Eastern USA". So idk why using the TCG and America interchangeably is an issue
ok now i feel stupid. i always thought EU stands for "extended universe" and was founded by the greatest american of all time: Jesus Christ🤔🤔
You can still call them Twitter threads if you want. You don't have to let their rebranding stick.

arguable its the moral correct thing to do cause it will make musk super angry knowing his shitty rebranding is absolutely not working
I turned off auto-updates on my Twitter app settings just in time lmao, we’ll see how long I can keep it like that until it doesn’t function
When will Twitter threads come back?
Anytime the topic of Adamancipator in TCG vs OCG comes up all I can think is "wait, you mean the synchro based combo deck didn't work very well under master rule 4 but was a lot more successful under master rule 5? I'm shocked."
To me the weirdest deck that was a big hit in the tcg but didn't convert overseas is Danger Thunder. Since dangers were tcg exclusives they took a while to arrive in the ocg in their extra pack, when they did, ocg players ignored thunder combos and instead focused on playing dangers with dark world, which ironically was the thing that got their gumblar banned.
Iirc, by the time danger come to OCG, TD already heavy hit with some of thier main deck monster limited to 1, which hamper it consistency a lot.
The way Joseph made the clear distinctions between OCG and TCG makes me think he got into a discussion with Rata about Eldlich or Exosisters being the gayest cards, lost to superior Backwater Eastern Europe Post-Soviet country arguments and is now trying to get back at him
Have MBT and Rata collabed?
Could just be that Europeans are obnoxious as all buggery about any topic, literally any topic, and MBT is just as sick of that nonsense as anyone else in the States.
That Runick conclusion hitting pretty hard at Master Duel worlds today.
It was glorious. OCG players mind broken. I wonder if they will actually practice with Runick now instead of just playing it as a bad Stun deck.

Still wild they only really play runick stun or mill.
Turns out when you have to dedicate your ash to a certain bug that Runick Fountain can actually resolve
Which is weird when you realize all the best stun tools are banned in the OCG...... And not the TCG (well other than mines)
Look at Runick combo lists, they have big engine requirements, thus usually feature 5-6 non-engine cards, which are commonly reserved to high impact situation specific cards (DRuler, Evenly,
, Nib), as low impact broad use cards (Imperm, Veiler, Ash) only become superior when you can draw multiples.
This means the deck cannot fit the whole Maxx "C" package (it's freaking 9 cards, with only Maxx "C" being high impact), making it way worse in the OCG when compared to TCG.
@@felipebarreto97bro what are you talking about. Runick decks benefit from the max c package more than any deck. If they get max cd they just set up their runick engine and play on your turn. With all the drawing they do,they're more likely to actually see and resolve max c as well since you have so many ash baits in the engine. Even if max c ends their turn, the only deck that can possibly achieve more than runick off a single draw is tears.
Ocg can compare to me since we both have max c. Runick was insanely strong on release and really only died down because of ishizu running in every deck for like 3 months. To add to that, naturia support was largely ignored due to it being released post tear, pre any real hits to the deck. If runick got all their spells unlimited in md you can definitely bet it'll be a lot more popular than it is now
@@obtusem5015 They don't benefit because you can't run the entire Maxx "C" package in Runick Combo. Ash, Called By and Crossout are terrible in the deck and need too much space you can't afford.
Runick doesn't care about Maxx "C" but Spright insta loses to it. If you play Runick Spright in OCG there's a 30% chance all your Spright cards are dead in hand.
That's why every Spright list played the full anti Maxx "C" package. That's why they play Runick as a stun strategy instead of abusing Huginn/Spright interactions. Maxx "C" prevents them from meshing well.

I honestly will never understand why we don't just have a unified ban list and release cards at the same time globally. Like it surely can't be that hard to give the OCG a placeholder reprint set, to buy time for the TCG to get the next set translated and ready and just release them both at the same time, then give the TCG a small placeholder set of all the cards we've never gotten for one reason or another and just have one single game, with one single ban list.
Now I could see the argument of "well the TCG and OCG players play the game differently so a ban list for one region wouldn't work well for the other!" So here's the solution... you take the worlds approach. The unified ban list becomes everything being playable at the lowest position on the ban list, so for instance Maxx C would be banned because the TCG has it banned, and Catapult Turtle would become banned because the OCG has it banned. Then in the ban lists that follow while continuing to ban problematic cards, you un-ban cards that shouldn't have been banned in the first place to clean up the list. So like Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon would become un-banned, and by that same token Thunder Dragon Colossus would also be un-banned.
This would lead to after 2-3 ban lists the game having not only a unified game, but also a ban list that likely would end up making the game a whole lot more healthy. I mean how often has both sides of this game we all enjoy had the comment of "man I wish we had X ban that the other guys get, this is bullshit", well now everyone would get those bans. It would also make Konami's job easier because no longer would they have to maintain two different ban lists, and as long as they continued to watch the results of EVERY LARGE TOURNAMENT, then they would be able to still figure out what cards are problematic and ban the problem cards without much issue, if anything it would make the problem cards more obvious because with a shared format, the OCG and TCG players could actively share information with each other and lab out formats faster.
Then the only thing we'd need to do is get Master Duel caught up to the rest of the game so it can also share the same ban list and be the entry point to the game that is sorely needed for newer players, and also serve as a place that Konami could actually host proper tournaments that actually matter for the larger events.
Though all of that is a pipe dream, there is almost no way they would do that because that would actually do that because the initial change over period would likely be seen of as too risky because "what if most of the OCG players quit from just getting a reprint set!?" or "what if the TCG players riot and quit from having a lot of cards that they don't agree with being banned banned when the ban list is first unified!?" even though I'm guessing the answer is... not many if ANY players would quit over this, and if they did, the game would be more appealing to new players and thus gain more players than it would lose.
The American flag in the back really sells the rant
@MBTYuGiOh as a fellow yugioh and magic player, I feel like it's interesting that Tearlaments has ALMOST a direct counterpart in magic with the legacy manaless dredge deck (dredgers as the ishizu cards and ichorid, nether shadow and company as "tear names" alongside dread return). While tearlament was extremely powerful in yugioh however, manaless dredge seems to be fringe at best and very bad at the worst. Im curious what other, if any, decks in yugioh and magic have such a similar playstyle to one another and also thought you mind find the comparison interesting idk :)

Out of all the flags he could choose to represent europe he choose the UK, a country which left the EU and is bascially just a shadow of a former empire.
You do realize that the UK is still part of Europe right? It left the European Union, not the continent lol
@@watchman1270 I know, but to represent us europeans by showing the UK flag is more than stupid in my eyes. Heck the 2 most powerful countrys in europe are germany and france (unless you also count russia). The EU flag would make much more sense even tho not every european country is part of it.

The reason you can't play Runick Fur Hire in the OCG is because of Maxx C tax. not enough space.

Zefra was good in the ocg solely because of maxx c interactions. 2 easily searched counter traps and you just end on zefraniu + divine strike pass or denglong nine pillar pass.
The kitchen synch deck is very different to adventurer tenyi as well. Adventurer tenyi needed denglong from auroradon token + o lion to search nine pillar mill ashuna and make baronne. Without the halq auroradon denglong combo that deck isn’t remotely close to playable.
Not mentioned in the video but Striker Orcust was like the best deck in the TCG once I:P was released and at the last YCS it was legal in it had like a 60% top cut rate. While I:P helped cement Orcust as the best deck in the OCG, Striker Orcust was just not a thing there.
