You are a hero sir, I was so dumb and didn’t think to look at the comment section but luckily my intelligent brother asked to check the comments and there you were.
Good video. Don't forget the two top plate screws under the stickers. This video does help determine which side is the 'grain' side. So take your time comparing side or leave a tiny mark when disassembling .
So when I buy a replacement screen from your store, it doesn't even come with everything we need? There are no cable ties. Also the wires I needed to unplug came glued/taped...
I thought there was supposed to be a 9H glass screen protector built into this unit. Was that just removed/replaced with the screen or what? Otherwise, very nice video. I love that Elegoo is getting repair videos out as the next shipment should start getting to customers.
@@ElegooOfficial On the tempered glass screen protector.... can we replace just that? otherwise if it cracks or gets compromised... would we need to replace the whole screen? If it is sandwiched to the screen what is the point of having it if not replaceable by itself?
@@mauriziob5944 Hello friend, the tempered glass can also be replaced. No worries, there is also a video to show how to replace the tempered glass. ua-cam.com/video/gV31-wYqTPM/v-deo.html
Where do we get replacements for tempered glass without having to purchase a new screen entirely? Why isn’t this easily accessible on Elegoo’s website? Please help
Might be a silly question, but is the tape used just electrical tape? Also does the double sided tape need to be more heat resistant or does any double sided tape work?
@sirteilo89 No, I did not sadlt. When you order one it comes with a new set of the tape, and it feels like electrical tape, but I can't really confirm that. The good news is it will come with the tape you need
The LCD can be un-stuck by jamming a pry tool into the adhesive between the LCD and the printer body and slowly prying the LCD up, working your way around until it's loose enough to push out. Takes less than 5 minutes.
Yeah, a little disappointed in the build quality of these machines. My wires were glued to their sockets and some of the sockets ripped right out of the board. I got them back in, but the glue was a nightmare and done in excess and not well.
Would anyone happen to know the size, airflow characteristic, and pin number of the fans used? Would like to replace if possible to lower noise, and my unit is still a ways off.
Removing that gosh darn tape took me like 50 minutes. So for everyone doing this, prepare for it taking a ton of time :) I used a heat gun, a blow torch and alcohol, also had to use tweezers and what not. Terrible glue :'D
Pressing the screen out is non-trivial. As the screen is a replacement item, I will make a removal tool for future use EDIT I used Acetone and cotton buds to clean off the old adhesive residue I left the top screen protector in place whilst fitting the replacement screen and removed before use
shoulda let me design it, there is a way better way to engineer this for easier replacement-this appears to be very prone to installation errors and broken bits, gotta make your money somehow I guess. but the machine is great
Don't forget the 2 screws that are covered by the two stickers!!
Dude, you're a lifesaver. I was about ready to likely wreck my printer. Thanks!
@@kcuthbertson1990 You're welcome. I was in that same state.
thanx I spent hours cursing until I read what you said

Also why the hell did you hot glue the connectors together elegoo?! I had to gingerly hold the top piece the whole time I did this process
Good video.

why do these go bad? i had mine quit after about 25 prints and you would think that a $400 printer shouldnt need a $140 part in less than a year
you should return it, if you live in a country with decent laws and regulations that is..
They make it look so easy to push the screen out but mine is stuck
Ive broke it with a hammer 20 minutes ago 😂 and just put the New screen on the place without their horrific adesive
I about broke my damn fingers trying to push that thing out
@@atelierducarlindoduI went the hammer route also, godspeed 😂
Uhm, I just used a hairdryer on the edges and gave it a pop. These suckers are definitely in tight
A big pink eraser works well for cleaning up adhesive residue under the LCD. Just keep eraser bits off the lead screw and linear rails perhaps
What kind of tape are you using?
there is a BAD placement of stickers on the middle board. i almost broke my unit just brute forcing this shit. where in the video it was super easy.

same here, where is the 9h protector?
Hello friend, no need to replace the 9H tempered glass, it will be equipped with each LCD replacement in advance.
@@brotherbing405 It is on the LCD screen.

It's not. It's a specific heat resistant type deal. Not stretchy like electric tape :/. Google gave me those answers 🤷@@damiennewman1992
I have removed all the screws from around the screen but it will not come off the back it comes off in video but refuses to lift off
Did you manage to take off? I'm almost breaking the screen but it won't come off
There are screws underneath safety labels

My circuit board does not look like that in the back I bought 2 in june Saturn 2. There is hot glue on the plug where I can't unplug them

I assume after that you do a plate level
On the plugs in the back on the circuit board there is glue on them. I can't unplug them
