- Easy Chair Yoga Sequence to Release Neck Tension! If you're sitting behind a computer for long hours, either at work or watching Netflix, then you for sure feel some muscle tension building up in your neck and shoulders. This chair yoga sequence will help you release tension, stretch your neck, and relieve some of the neck pain that comes with sitting for too long.

So many people think that because I'm a yoga teacher, I must be doing yoga all the time. I wish! Instead, I spend a lot of my time sitting at a computer screen editing videos and running my super interactive online courses and programs. My neck and shoulders get SO tight! So I do a few exercises for the neck and shoulders to help combat some of this stiffness. And since so many of you also sit at desks, I thought you might like to do them :)

I do this and the chair sequence for back at least twice a week. I originally did them after a surgery that limited my exercise, and found them to be the BEST for loosening up the back, shoulders, and neck. Thank you so much for these!

Sitting and stretching! This is ideal for me because I don't quite have my yoga space set up and it's been a wee while since I've done a proper, regular practice on my mat. I've been doing some yoga on the edge of my bed every night and then some leg and hip postures when I lay down, so my body is still used with moving and I don't lose my mind body connection.
