Hi man, so ground we taking from main connector right and using one of the cable(key 1 or key 2) to connect to OEM swc input. But in which case we gonna use both of the cables? My car has total 6 buttons 3 on each side of the steering wheel. In this case should I connect key 1 and key 2 to the same input?
How does one find these wires? Im trying to get wires ready in my 04 Cadillac SRX for a double din swap and i DIY'd the rest of the wiring, im not stoping now, i have only 1 steering wheel control wire coming to the factory unit, would there be a 2nd one i need to tap into or would the wire on the stereo harness itself work for me at all? Any information is helpful, this car has been a nightmare
I too have column mounted Steering control in my car like yours. It is connected to geen+brown and yelloy+brown wires. Can you please tell me which one of these i need to connect to key 1 and key 2? Any harm in doing trial and error ?
I install a dual DV271BT to 2014 subaru forester.. The head unit has built in swc interface...the harness has Swc1 (brown) swc2 (brown black ...where do I connect it to
Hi mate, just had a very similar install on my wife's clio, she's got the 10 inch junsun head unit, the guy couldn't get the steering wheel controls, any chance you could possibly help me via email or something if I get the stereo out and take some pics etc.. I would be extremely grateful.
@@jonathandale5350 Thanks for your reply :-) on my Mondeo the brown/yellow wire for the steering controls is 'steering control ground'. I'll give it a go a bit later see what happens. thanks again :-)
hey bro how did you decide which of the 3 wires to attach the ground to. also how can i identify my steering wheel control wires if i do not have a wiring diagram
I was so excited to do this! But I realized that I might short circuit a lot of things in the car. Possibly the whole electrical system can be fried. Can anyone reassure me that it won’t so I can proceed with my Toyota Tacoma 2011 base.
This will not fry anything In Your car all you are doing by doing this is bypassing the need for an expensive plug, think of it this way, if it blows then the worst thing to happen is a blown fuse, just disconnect it and replace the fuse :)
It's both radio and vehicle model specific. More modern cars have the controls going through the CAN bus, for those a module and custom harness will be required.
I need to do this.. but i have a car that not sure ill be able to do it on.. lol A 2009 Saab 9-3.. if anyone has done it or is able to help me please reply. Thanks.
