    I understand that brand new fabrics have something added to them in the factory (like sizing) so they look nice on the bolt, but it washes out in the first wash, so you must prewash your fabric before you begin this process and the ink will be much more likely to be permanent. Also, iron the fabric after it comes out of the printer in order to set the ink into the fabric. Use a press cloth or a sheet of regular printer paper to keep any ink from getting on your iron, or smearing across your label sheet. then flip your label cloth over and iron it on the back as well.

    For those wondering or having issues with the color bleeding or fading, try soaking your labels in white vinegar! After they’ve printed and dried, place them on a cookie sheet (one sheet at a time), let them sit and soak in the white vinegar for about 5 minutes, allow them to dry completely before using and done!

      I was just going to ask if you could iron the wax side of the paper over the print and if that would help but this vinegar idea is awesome. I will try.

    OMG I have been trying to figure out how to do this for ages. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!Your explanation made it perfectly clear. Every Tutorial I've ever seen never explained how to do it with wax paper. I was always left confused about where to buy the type of paper they were using. I feel like I just hit the jackpot. Lol Thank you again! You are a great teacher! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    What a great idea. I could see this method working for fabric dolls' faces too. Could either leave them as-is, or use the printed design as a template to embroider over. Thanks, you've got my mind working now!

    The ink/printing is more permanent if printed on PFD fabric or you can pre-treat your own natural cotton or silk fabric with "BubbleJet" following instructions on label.
    (PFD: Prepared For Dying -- HTHs).

    Wow, this is amazing! Thanks so much :D Would you happen to know how well these labels hold up in the wash? As in, do they fade quickly or not? AND, do I have to use an ink jet printer, or do laser work with this technique as well?? So many questions, sorry!!

    • @HappyBerryCrochet
      @HappyBerryCrochet  7 років тому +1

      Laser printer should work too, although haven't tested it myself, as for holding up in the wash, I've washed them a few times and they have been ok, they will fade over time just like normal labels do, but best to experiment first before sewing on to your project as all wash cycles and inks vary!

    • @HappyBerryCrochet
      @HappyBerryCrochet  7 років тому +3

      Well as a graphic/web designer by trade I recommend designing a logo that works for everything you need such as business cards, websites etc etc, what works on one platform may not sit well on another, keep it clean and simple, avoid overly fancy text so it scales down well and try and choose something that you can grow with/is timeless. Hope that helps a little!
