  • In this video I do what I would call a challenge. Out of 4 lenses that I have. I only get to take one with me on a photoshoot. Which one do I take? Well watch the video and you will find out! :)

Great video! The rising sun stunning. The ICM not my idea! If film used, definitely a big no-no! So cold! Get that here in Toronto! Tak-Tak.Bravo!

Hi Thomas, great choice the 400 mm with great pictures. A great idea to go on a photo tour with minimal equipment. I think it sharpens the photographic eye even more and I often didn't need a lot of equipment. Well done! ICM is very interesting!

Hi Christian! Glad you liked the photos. It makes you think. Do we really need to pack our camera bags full with lenses on every occasion. Maybe not. I'm definitely going to pack lighter more often. And as you said: it makes us see things that we otherwise may have overlooked. Have a great week! 😀

Well, that was a fun challenge with some great results. I like abstract shots but I'm not always keen on ICM. Yours were good though and not an unidentifiable smudgy mess like some I've seen! The one at 11:05 was really pretty with the way it sparkled.

Thank you Juanita! I felt the same way about ICM. But I have given it a lot of thought. And, as you said, there are diffrent ways too do it. :)

A succes Thomas! Always good to challenge yourself. My fav is the 70-200. Can you tell where these shots have been taken? I might go there as well when I'm in the area, looks stunning!

Hi there! The 70-200 is my favorite aswell! The mountain is called "Gussiberget" in the outskirts of Ljusne. Next location was Ålsjön natur reserve, close to Söderhamn. :)

Thank you Kenneth! Yes, it was nice with sunny weather. In just a few days we are going to get like +2 Celsius. That's a little bit strange. :)

Great video, Thomas. I love the 24-200mm as that is my usual go to lens for hiking as I can get most of the shot I want with 90% of the sharpness but it is great to challenge yourself with just one lens and if a prime even better. I would certainly call your outing a success as you took some brilliant shots. Again great stuff 👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you Andy! I have had my eyes on that 24-200 for a long time. Maybe some day I will buy it. Great to hear that you enjoy using it. :)

I'm a new subscriber and enjoy your videos. I've watched a few so far, and the weather has mostly been misty, cloudy sky, soft light due to that without much directional light and not much colour contrast like sunrise, sunset, blue sky afternoon, blue hour etc. Interesting for me.
I'm from Bulgaria where there is a lot of sunshine and sunrise and sunset opportunities. But I live in England from 10 years, and the sky here is overcast most of the time. So I appreciate the differences this brings and can relate like that to your videos. I was quite happy when I saw the blue sky at sunrise in this video. I was wondering what other pictures you would have taken with your other lenses. I would love to see more videos of you in weather conditions and colours like in this video. I would also love to see astrophotography from you. Anyways, keep up the good work. See you soon in the next video.

Hi Daniel! Welcome to my channel! It's true. A clear blue sky does not happen very often where I live. Also I tend to avoid those days for photography. But with the succes I had on this day I might have to reevaluate that. There is always a shot. Regardless of the conditions. Have a great week Daniel and thank you for watching! :)

That was definitely a success! I absolutely love your ICM shots, especially that group of 3 together. Very well done.
We received a Christmas card this year from a cousin of mine and her husband. He is a professional videographer/audio technician/photographer. He's worked on many Canadian television shows and so on. The card they sent this year was of one of his photos of a group of trees over a snowy trail and he used ICM. It's a beautiful shot. And now seeing your work I'm going to have to give this a try and see if I can get anything worth keeping. I'll start at 1/10 and go from there.

@@ThomasRaskPhoto I tried a few shots with the trees in the backyard but there's too many distracting elements like the house, the fence etc. I kept one shot which I kind of like but it needs more in the scene.
