It can also be said that "chalupa" is originally a house for ordinary living, which over time has become a holiday home. "Chata" is already built as a recreational facility. But it is difficult to generalize exactly.

@@petex3909 Difference is in location of building. Chata is pupose building, like former scout camps used, usually in rows, chalupa is in village, and what is important, it is legally colaudationed. For us to be exact, when we want to look clever in comments section. And yes i am clever as hell. Haha, peace guys

Hahah my mom in law pointed out to me... I like better the word Chata cause it's easier to remember... haha But apparently if it's big is a chalupa!..

Chata is often located at a lake or at a river, often small, made from wood, definitely not older than the 20th century, not suitable for permanent living. When I hear "chalupa", I think of a real house, even from the 19th century, theoretically possible to live in, in villages or in the mountains.

chata is modern, built just for recreation. chalupa is originally built as a village house, could be farm. these were turn for recreation mostly in 20th century after the war. our family got a chalupa. it's very old. Dostihy a sazky! great! I just tried to tell English people about it :-) good luck with your pregnancy Andrea! xxx

Oh ok that part I didn’t know. Just that the small ones near Prague are chatas and chalupas are bigger. Yet I have never seen a farm here. For fun!... like in Venezuela many of my friends have farm usually consist of a big house with 30 to 100 hectáreas of terrain and some animals 20-100 cows horses chickens and some type of plantation!.. those are super common in South America but I guess not as common in Europe.

It was me who explained you the difference between a chata and a chalupa, but there are more important steps - not only such language details - how to get used to the Czech Republic. E.g. to realize that it's not really cold, it would be at temperatures under minus 10 degrees and severe north wind. In fact, you are lucky to spend here a winter which we call nice, with snow and frozen lakes and so on. 😉

I've been watching your videos for a while now since I'm planning to move to Prague in the next couple of months. I didn't have the time to binge so instead I was watching older videos that seemed more 'important.' and in lots of them you've mentioned the prospect of having a baby (quite a few times actually!). This new clip seemed interesting, so imagine my shock when I suddenly heard you casually mention that you're pregnant! I don't know you personally but based on your YT channel you seem like a really nice and honest person. Congratulations on the baby, I wish you a fruitful year and even more happiness to come!

You must buy good black coal and not burning brown shit like most of peoople :-D it has even better heating performance, people always look only on price for kg and they can't really calculate what is really cheaper. BTW I actually never saw house which really uses coal as main heat source, people mostly burn wood at chata and have central heating from heating plant or from their gas or electric boiler.
