Is this pattern meant to be knit flat and seamed up the back? The diagram appears to have selvage stitches on each side. (Also, if you knit 90 stitches in the round, you don't have a multiple of 4 needed to make the 2x2 ribbing work.) In any case, I think I will cast on 88 and work in the round, since that it's my preference, and follow the chart from there. I am curious what the instructions say though.

Hi Kelley, yes the pattern was meant to be knitted in the flat. I noticed this during editing, and addressed it in an overlay text, but not in the audio. To knit in the round, cast on 88 sts and follow column 2-89 of the chart. Thanks for knitting this again!

@@SeedlingStitch Ah, yes, thanks, that makes sense. I must have been looking away during the overlay text. Oops! Thanks for the clarification.

I’m so excited to find your channel and your Japanese Knitting mini-lessons! I bought a few Japanese pattern books from Japan because the patterns were beautiful but didn’t know how to even begin understanding them. There isn’t that much in English for understanding Japanese pattern chart reading so I thank you so much for creating this resource!!

I’m glad you find these resources useful! Japanese patterns are so unique and I really hope to promote them among the English knitting community.:)
