I just took Gayle's class at Vogue Knitting Live NYC 2023, she was an excellent teacher, she is so knowledgeable, in addition to explaining how to use a Japanese knitting pattern, she had some interesting explanations about the origins of the Japanese characters used for knitting.
Hi Suzanne, I can't believe I missed this video all these years I've been following you! As a Japanese knitter, It was very interesting listening to how you and Gayle interpret the whole concept of the Japanese knitting.
The Nihon Vogue knitting app is amazing! $1.99 is cheap for what it offers. Gayle is so humble. Thanks to her the English speaking knitting world is very, very lucky! I have the Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible. About a year ago I tried one gorgeous chart. Whew, it was hard and I couldn't do it correctly. It was way over my pay level. :-) The app will be very helpful. Thanks for another great episode, Suzanne!
Your interviews are just terrific. It's such a treat to hear from so many talented and accomplished authors. You have a pleasant personality and are a great host.. Thank you.
Interesting interview! I am emvious of that skill of speakig Japanese to translate knitting! WHOA! I have a theory about chart reading. I am soooooo bad at it. Did cross stitich for years and struggled with it there too. I am also horrible at reading maps!!! I thin there is a connection: a certain weakness in spatial orientation. No joke!
Maureen, I am going to be doing a series on the Japanese stitches and chart reading over on my other UA-cam channel - Knitting with Suzanne Bryan. Keep an eye out for it.
Couldn’t watch it live, but got it after. Very nice interview about Japanese knitting. Beautiful stitches. I was wondering if there was a designer also translating knitting from the Russian language, I’ve seen some of their patterns and they are also beautiful. Thanks Suzanne!
Maureen Lewicki that’s fantastic. I have a pattern that I would love to translate to English. I saved it a while ago, but have to look for it. Thanks. 😊
@@SuzanneOfftheCuff For all other of your Off the Cuff videos, I still have the Chat button. But in this one, even today 8/24/20, it's still missing. On all my devices, missing.

Thank you for an informative interview. Would it be possible to list the books in the info section as well? 💖
That's a great idea! I will work on it.
For this interview, I had no CHAT button or option. It's missing.
