Picked one of these up a couple months ago, yep, six years old. In stunning, like-new condition. Never thought I would like a LP, but this guitar is magic, and the price is not to be believed for what you get. I know there are LPs in the $6,000+++ range, but why??? If you want a LP, and can find one of these, JUMP ON IT. You won't regret it.
Back in February 2016, I took up the guitar as an older beginner, and this was the first Gibson Les Paul I ever bought. I’m still playing today, and I still have this great guitar, when I first saw it was love at first sight, it sounds great too.
I got this back in November of last year, and I'll tell you what it plays like a dream sounds great, awesome tone it sounds just as good as the Standards and Custom shops, and the build quality couldn't be any better in my opinion, and with it being a price of $799 this is a great guitar to play at home or for a number one axe at a gig, Great guitar.
It looks like Gibson got it right in 2016. I shared a few of my own thoughts and gave a quick overview on the 2016 Studio over on my channel. These "entry-level" Les Pauls are a great value for the price!
I own one of these in worn brown. The alnico5 BurstbuckerPro pickups that come on it sound nice and clear and glassy, however, I'd also like to try a lower output alnico2 pickup like my favorite pickup, the SeymourDuncan Pearly Gates. The "quick connect" plugs and the special PC board that all 4 knobs are wired into kinda makes modifications a challenge. If you want different pickups that aren't the expensive Gibson "quick connect" type, you have to replace pretty much ALL the stock electronics if you want the ability to revert it back to stock again later. So... heads up to all you prospective buyers. Still well worth the probably 699 or less these things go for currently. It's much brighter and more chimey sounding than your usual Les Paul due to the lack of thick clear lacquer. You also have to set the action somewhat higher than most people's usual super-low measurement to eliminate all hints of fret buzz when playing 100% clean, mostly because the guitar is so open and lively sounding that it doesn't hide imperfections in your technique like other guitars might.
I got this beauty from a GC store in Times Square since last thursday. Super comfortable neck and I love the minimalistic aesthetics in this one. Mine is in worn brown and I love it. The best is the sound, super warm BB Pro's with a lot of articulation. I have standards and customs and I'll tell ya this one does it as good as the other ones. Best LP for the buck. Good job Gibson!
I AGREE, Love that store too!!!Played a TRAD and a Brown Studio Faded, side by side through the same Fender AMP, Clean & Distorted and there was NO DIFFERENCE.The RED STUDIO I wanted (SWEET,UGH!!!) had an 'iffy' neck and sounded weaker than the Brown one...... so off I went w/my $675 Les Paul w/not the greatest paint job in the world, and no binding...BUT SO WHAT? the binding just makes fret work difficult later on.
OOOH, I have one of those 'THE' guitars, mine is an 'SG'...'The "SG" from 1979....imma never lettin go of that one,WALNUT body & EBONY fret-board.....OOHH BABY...ITS ROCKIN ! Just got one of these too, SWEET !!!
Just purchased this today awesome guitar very pleased! It was this or the 50's tribute but the neck on this one was just more comfortable for me. can't go wrong with either one at the price it goes for :)
I just bought a 2016 Les Paul Studio. It doesn’t have push pull pots. Should it? I wonder if some didn’t come with them? Mabe the guy I bought it from swapped them out?
Yes, I think so, $2300(Trads) MINUS $1500(amount less)= $800. I got mine for $650, so it was an even sweeter deal !! These guitars sound just as good, the same actually, as the really expensive Les Paul's.
Guitar Center, they have a Nation-wide 'Guitar-a-thon' every year in October. Also Memorial Day, & July 4th....I waited, waited, WAITED to buy it....... as soon as it when on sale I GRABBED IT. Did the same thing w/an 'SG' Special Faded T, on Memorial Day... got it for $582 out-the-door, BANG !SWEET. Love that guitar too! U kno, GIBSON'S Electric Guitar offerrings for 2016, many people are saying, was GIBSON's best in 50 years. GIBSON needed a comeback year after the G-FARCE and Min-E-TUNERS fiasco's in 2014& 2015.
Maybe yes. Bcs I can play shred song like daddy brother from mr big and fatal tragedy from dream theater when i use ibanez prestige. And when i use gibson lp studio, its so hard to play that songs 😁
the great Les Paul the best guitar for electric jams very nice looking guitar cool because I like to bend my guitars //////////Don Harrison music digs this guitar stay cool friends
Good demo and the guy plays really well, nothing wrong there but that tinny sound is horrible. I've always associated LPs with a chunky, beefy and fleshy sound whether it be rock, metal or soul/funk.
Poor fret installation, you feel like you're going to slice your fingers open on the fret ends! It's a cheap assembly line guitar that's NOT worthy of the Gibson name or the $799.00 it cost! For a Gibson it Sucks.
IDK, I got one for $675, the Burst-Bucker Pro's sound as good as the TRADS @ $2,300. W/some VIRTUOSO Polish made it look laquered too.No fret issues either and after adjusting the strings that were hitting the bridge-plate(as GIBSON usual)....mine is PERFECTION...not to mention $2G's less than a Standard.

I have one in the same finish. I'm a strat guy and never been keen on Les Pauls but as soon as I played this it won me over!! Superb guitar!!!

Got this guitar over a week ago. Awesome guitar! I have wanted another Gibson, since I let my early 80's 'The Paul' model get away....

Excellent playing. Great tone.
I own this. An amazing guitar. Electronics kind of sucks but I will eventually get rid of the board that they used and solder it the old way.
For $799 you can't go wrong. I've had mine for a couple months now and I love it.

I have sama colour. Very loud and high gain 😂. But the neck installation like a knife. I think prestigebis the best neck
